Like A Kiss In The Rain
"One more round!" The bunny urged, grabbing her husband's paw.
"Judes, I'm exhausted." Nick groaned as he tossed his head back sleepily.
The bunny climbed on his chest. "Please Nick?"
"Juuuudy.."
"Niiiiiick.."
"Please?" She begged.
The fox sighed. "Fine. Last round, then we sleep."
"That's good for me." She sat up on him and prepared herself.
"Ready?" He asked.
"Yes!" She eagerly said, nodded with excitement.
Nick sat up and the bunny began to giggle. "Be gentle, okay?" She sheepishly asked.
Nick's lips curled to a grin. "I'm gonna go hard on you."
The bunny's eyes widened and before she could speak, He had already pinned her down, tickling her.
"Ahaha! I SAID gentle!" The bunny laughed as her fox tickled her violently.
"And I said I'm gonna go hard!" He chuckled as he continued tickling her.
"Okay! Okay! Stop!" She breathlessly screamed.
Nick obliged and sat up on her. "Now can we sleep?"
"No. It's early in the morning, we gotta go to work."
Nick's eyes widened in realization. "Shoot! You're right!
The bunny kissed her fox's nose before getting up. "Then, we gotta drop the kits off at my parent's house, then we-"
"Get nasty in the back of the police cruiser?"
"Ew! No! We go to work for the first time in months." Judy said as she hopped off the bed.
"Wouldn't that be something though? Fox and bunny making love on shift? Maybe then those handcuffs could come in handy.."
"You are soo disgusting!" Judy said in a guffaw kind of tone.
Nick smirked and slid out of bed. "C'mon carrots, you know you were thinking the same thing!" He laughed.
The bunny stripped from her pajamas and changed into her uniform. "Whatever dumb fox. It feels like forever since I last had my uniform on." She mentioned.
Nick nodded as he pulled on his shirt. "Carrots, I honestly think you're just saying that because you put on a couple of pounds at the wedding."
She punched his arm. "You know that's not funny." She pouted.
The fox kissed her cheek. "I was joking. You're beautiful, so beautiful that I'll yell it out the window and wake everyone up!"
Nick ran to the window while Judy giggled. "Hey everyone!"
Mammals walking in the streets looked up why others rolled down their car window.
"My wife is the most beautiful girl in the world!"
"No one cares!" A familiar rabbit said.
Another animal said, "It's my money and I need it now!"
The familiar rabbit smiled up at Nick. "Hey Jack!" Nick said and motioned the striped bunny to come in.
Once Jack was inside, the three exchanged hugs.
"How's life?" The striped bunny asked, smiling at his friends.
"Life's good! " Judy chirped, almost jumping with energy.
"That's great to hear! So what happened after the wedding? You two literally just ran out and everyone was confused."
Nick took a seat while Judy tended to the kits.
"Not...Not much happened." Nick said playing with his paws before looking up.
"So..." Jack muttered in confusion.
Nick clenched his fist. "I think Judy wants another kid." He muttered out suddenly.
Jack's eyes widened and he leaned in to whisper. "Another kid!? You already have three!" He whisper/yelled.
Nick sighed, "I know...but, she was so eager after the wedding I-" he took a moment to breathe. "I don't want another kid."
Jackson nodded in understanding, fixing his tie and pulling on his collar. "Then tell her." Simple as that, he said.
"Tell her what?" Judy said, coming into the living room with her Aiden and August in one arm and Aleah in the other.
Nick's face drained of color and he put on a fake toothy smile. "Nothing! Nothing at all!" He said quickly, not giving her eye contact.
The bunny turned to Jack. "What are you two talking abo-"
"Nickthinksyouwant
anotherbaby!" He said all at once.
Nick's face grew even more scared. "Pffft! What? Why would I think-"
"Nick lets go talk."
The fox's eyes widened and complete horror overwhelmed him. "O-okay."
Judy sat the kits on the couch. "Watch them." She demanded to Jack and he nodded vigorously.
Judy grabbed her fox's paw and pulled him into the other room.
"Why do you you think I want another kid?" She started, looking him in the eyes.
The fox sighed. "Because-"
"Because I love babies? Nick I grew up on a farm with almost three hundred bunnies! A whole lot of them were babies!"
The fox nodded. "It was just a thought I had. Sorry."
Judy smiled softly while wrapping her arms around his neck.
In a headlock kind of way.
"Don't ever make assumptions without knowing anything!" She yelled, choking the fox.
Nick's eyes widened and he struggled to get out of her grip. "Agh-Okay! Okay! L-let go!" He uttered out.
"JUDY, NICK, GET YOUR FURRY ASSES IN HERE!" Jack yelled.
The two jumped out if each other's grip and rushed to the living room.
"What happen-" soon as Nick ran in, he froze in shock.
Judy followed after, staring in awe as well as Nick.
There stood Jackson and Aleah.
The bunny holding the hybrid's paw and helping her up.
Upon him helping her up, he slowly backed away, leaving the infant wobbling on her two hind paws.
She looked to her parents who were completely amazed. "She can walk.." Judy muttered through her paws that were covering her mouth in surprise.
"Nick, she can walk!" The grey bunny jumped, looking at her husband then back at her daughter.
"Uh..actually she can just stand but we're working on it." Jack said.
"Oh shut your ass! She can walk! Watch...Leah, come to daddy." Nick tried.
"Fwuck dada!" Aiden giggled out.
Judy opened her mouth to speak but Nick waved her off. "C'mon, Lele! You can do it."
"Lele?" Judy questioned. "Lele, short for Leah. Leah short for Aleah. It's her new nickname." The fox explained casually.
Aleah stood for a while, wobbling occasionally.
She finally tried to take a step. Acing it perfectly.
"Great job, Aleah, now keep walking." Nick encouraged and the baby placed other paw in front of the other.
"Judy get the camera!"
The grey bunny pulled out her phone and recorded, all while rolling her eyes.
Aleah slowly approached her father. Just as she was two inches from grasping his paws, Aiden stood up and pushed her down.
Both babies fell and started to cry.
"That was petty." Jackson said to himself while looking at the crying babies.
Nick stood up and sighed. "Well..guess we know who th mean one is." He said to Judy.
The grey bunny nodded and put the camera in his face. "Tell me, Mr WildeHopps, how sexy is your wife?" She childishly said in a reporter's voice.
Nick straightened his uniform and went with it. "I believe that's classified information, Mrs..?"
"Reporter. Mrs Reporter Pizza." Judy made up with a chuckle.
"Okay..uh..ima leave now." Jack said, letting himself our the front door.
Judy turned her phone to the crying babies. "How do you feel about your kids crying?"
Nick grabbed the phone and looked at it. "Kids, if you ever watch this, I want you to know that YOU ARE CRYBABIES. You cry all the dang, lang, chickenwang, time!"
"Chickenwang? Really?" Judy giggled.
Nick rolled his eyes, "Nah I'm just playing. But really though. Kids I LOVE you. Love you all. And, God forbid, if anything bad ever happens while me and your mom are off fighting crime, I want you to know we love you. All of you."
Judy snatched the camera. "Nothing bad will happen. Your dad's just in his sappy mode."
Nick took the camera back.
"Kids, I want you to know that if you ever watch this, read this, hell, picture this, just know our story goes way back." He paused and looked at Judy.
"Way back as in, how me and your mother met, at an ice cream parlor. I was ordering a jumbo pop, she was ordering a handsome fox to sleep with-"
"Was not!" Judy cut in.
"Anyway...my most favorable moment with your mother was when I had came back from the academy. I stepped off the train and there she was, her fur glowing off the moon light.
We both fell asleep on that bitch."
"Nick!"
"Bench! I MEANT bench!"
"But upon that, I ended up face down in a muddy puddle. And even though I was sick, I was madly in love. She was one hell of a wild catch. No pun intended."
Nick sat down on the floor, letting Aiden and Aleah crawl on him for comfort. August soon joined.
"Now I know by time you see this you'll be like, 'Ugh! Why does dad talk so much!' But to be honest, your mother talks more."
Judy socked him in the arm. "Enough." She yelled as he laughed.
"Kids," he continued. "I want to say this briefly. We've been through ups and downs, but that didn't stop us. I've lost your mother before and it was the worst time of my life! But losing her taught me that I really did love her.
I don't want this sounding anymore clichè or sappy. In the end, storms only clear up after rain. Rain is like beer to Finnick. Take it away, he won't be nothing. Give it to him, he might go ruin someone's wedding.
Back to the rain thing! Life is like rain, you play it wrong, it'll end ugly."
"Wrong quote." Judy interfered and Nick shushed her.
"Like I said, life is like rain, it falls down, becomes a puddle no one wants to be in, but eventually, the sun will shine and that puddle will be evaporated by the sun."
"Great advice. Tell our kids they're meant to be evaporated by the sun, Nick." Judy dryly said.
"Oh stop it, you cosigner!"
"Rain," he started again. "Falls down, but then it gets back up, looks the sun in the eyes and say, 'I'm ready to rise.' And..you know what? You'll rise." The fox kissed his daughter on the ear and she stirred.
"Just know this, there is nothing to fear but fear itself. And the only way to make it through life is to hustle, sweetheart. Hustle good.
Because if there's one thing I learned throughout this story-"
"Life."
"Oh potato, patato!"
"Just finish."
"If there's one thing I learned throughout this life, is that you must treat every day like a kiss in the rain."
