I need you, Carrots....
Nick sat in the hospital waiting room after he had took Judy to the emergency room. Thoughts swirled in the fox's head as he sat in the cushioned, dark blue waiting chairs. He sighed.
This is horrible! What happened to Judy? Is she going to be okay?
He thought, holding his head in his paws. Nick then had a flash back to the pill bottle Judy had next to her.
Could that be the reason?
"Mr. Wilde, you're free to visit your friend." The nurse, who was a deer, said.
Nick immediately stood up and asked the nurse what was Judy's room number was before walking to it. He opened the door slowly, sticking his head through first to spot the bunny.
Nick then came into the room, shutting the door behind and walked towards Judy. He watched her chest peacefully rise and fall while she laid on the bed. She looked soo fragile, soo poise. Like an expensive glass that breaks at the touch of a finger.
Judy was sleeping as Nick slowly approached her. It shocked Nick the most to see she had a breathing machine attached to her. He placed his paws over his mouth to contain the whimpers he would've let out. Tears made their way down the fox's face as he watched her slightly struggle to breathe.
Though Nick was kind of happy to see his friend, he wasn't quite happy about what the nurse told him.
Why would she tell me I can visit when Judy's sleep?!
He thought.
Nick turned to leave after wiping his eyes and sighing. "Get better, Judy. I'll miss you." He whispered as he exited the room.
There was no point in staying if all he could do was watch her sleep, so he left to talk to the Chief Bogo about Judy's condition.
XXXX
"What?!" The shocked buffalo said, sitting up in his chair.
"Yeah, the doctor said she overdosed on phentermine; which is a weight loss pill. The bottle had Jada Hopps on it." Nick explained to chief Bogo.
"Well," Chief started, obviously surprised by what he's heard.
"Was she drugged or did she take it on her own will?"
"You're asking me like I know, Chief." Nick remarked.
Chief Bogo nodded then shrugged. "Well, get some sleep, I hope Hopps gets better."
Nick nodded and said his goodbye to Bogo before exiting his office, a exhausted expression applied on his muzzle.
Nick trudged through the ZPD, ignoring the always excited cheetah and walking through the doors. He sighed as he got into his car and drove to his apartment.
When he arrived, he saw that the land lord was there. "What are you doing?" Nick said to the antelope who handed Nick a sheet of paper.
"You haven't paid rent for two months, Nicholas. So, you'll have to move out by the end of this week." The annoyed antelope said.
"Wha-can you at least let me stay tonight?" Nick begged.
"No," she said, extending out her hoof.
"Key."
Nick sighed and handed her his apartment key. He then turned away from his apartment, his shoulder slumped and feet aching. Walking to the parking lot, he noticed his car was gone. Nick looked around and saw that his car quickly drive out of the parking lot. "Why does bad things keep happening to me!?" He yelled.
Nick decided to go to the train station, maybe he could catch a train to his mom's house...that us if the trains ran at this time of night. Once Nick was there, his assumption was correct, the trains didn't run at 11:56 pm. Nick figured he'd stay the night in the train station, on the bench he and Judy sat on when they were reunited with each other again. He felt a hole in his heart. This hole was causing his heart to crack. Nick looked up at a star that reminded him off Judy. The same twinkle, that same unique sparkle that he knew for sure that the star was as beautiful as her eyes. How it glowed in the night sky, it seemed the brightest out of all the stars.
Judy was the brightest out of all the animals in Zootopia. And Nick was full of sin, regret, and need for affection he lacked of getting in his childhood. But Nick didn't care about that, he cared about the one and only mammal that he knew, cared about him. He needed his Judy. To hold. To tell her everything will be okay, just thinking about her brought tears to his eyes.
Laying down, Nick half closed his eyes, arms in the back of his head, supporting it. He slowly breathed in and gazed at the stars.
I miss you Judy..
He held his necklace and automatically felt a connection through it. Like he could feel her holding it too.
Nick smiled up at the stars, slowly closing his eyes. He took in the feeling of this closeness he had with her. Nick imagined her soft and delicate grey fur swimming through his paws, the feeling of her wonderful lips brushing against his, or the beautiful aroma of her. All this imagining made Nick slowly slip into a peaceful dream of holding his sweet carrots and admitting his undying love for her.
A tear slipped through his eye lids...
I need you, Carrots....
Kisses Of The Rain..
I need you, Carrots.
