Dresses
"Aww, Judy these look at these dresses!" Jada exclaimed, holding up a little red dress.
"I can't believe we're going shopping for a baby's wedding dress." Judy groaned while looking at her sister.
"Judy, You know you'll have to do it anyway." Fru Fru, Judy's best friend said.
"But If I wear white, and Nick wears black, why would the kits wear red?" The bunny asked, picking Aleah up from the stroller.
"I think Aleah likes it." Jada assured.
Judy looked at Aleah and smiled, "Do you like the dress, Leah?"
The baby's eyebrows furrowed. "N-nu." The baby said.
"What did she say?" Fru asked, standing on the shopping cart.
"She said no." Jada mocked and Aleah glared at her.
"Is it normal for a baby to use this kind of facial expressions?" Asked Jada. "She gets it from her daddy." Judy replied, looking through the tiny dresses.
"So where is this, daddy?"
Judy stopped to turn towards Jada. "Uh-uh..only I call Nick daddy." She stated sternly.
"What about the kits?" Fru questioned.
"They call him dada-"
"Dada!" Aleah gushed with excitement.
"See? I call him daddy, they call him dada, you call him none of those names because that is my fox. Not yours." The bunny grinned at their expression.
Fru Fru and Jada glanced at each other as Aleah giggled. "I wish my daughter was just like you." A voice from behind them said.
The girls turned around and saw a pretty looking gazelle in casual clothes. "Oh my gosh, are you the famous pop star Gazelle!?" The three said in unison.
"I'm her sister, Adele."
"You mean that girl that made that song Hello?" Fru asked, excited.
"Yup. Daz me!" The happy gazelle smiled.
"Cool. What brings you here?" Judy asked as she sat Aleah in the stroller and strapped her in.
"I heard the famous first bunny cop and fox cop was getting married and I figured I get a surprise for their children." She smiled.
Judy raised an eyebrow, "How'd you know we had kids?"
Adele grabbed her phone and opened Instapaw. On there she went to Nick and Judy's page.
"Nick posts EVERY day." The gazelle laughed.
A whimpering sound of a infant in distress caught their attention.
Judy groaned while rolling her eyes. "I'll take Aleah to the bathroom, please find a good dress for her." Judy breathed, carefully picking up the baby.
The girls nodded and she was off to the mall's restroom. Once there she sat the baby on the sink and opened her phone.
A missed call from Nick.
She decided to MuzzleTime him and within a second, he answered. "Heyy momma carrot!" The nervous fox said.
"What happened?" She propped up her phone against the sink and breast fed Aleah while on the phone with Nick.
"So me, Finnick, and Giddeon found the little suits for Aiden and Auggie. The only problem is, I can't find one for me."
"Can't you just go to a different store?" The grey bunny sighed.
"They don't have any suits my size."
Judy closed her eyes and huffed. "Fine. I'll help you later. I'm still looking for Aleah's dress."
"Thanks carrots."
"Mhm."
"How's my baby girl?" He asked, smiling into the camera.
"She's..like she's always been. Her next appointment is in a week. Hopefully we get good news." The bunny glanced down at her baby and smiled.
Nick sighed, "How does it feel?" He asked suddenly.
"How does what feel..?" Raising an eyebrow, Judy said.
"To..hold her. To feel her fur. How does it feel?"
The bunny felt her heart drop. "W-well..I can't really explain it." She honestly answered.
Nick shrugged, "I'll find out some day." He said and sighed.
Judy held her eyes closed for three seconds. "You'll hold her. One day you will."
The fox nodded, "I gotta go, Finnick got his ears stuck in a tire. I'll see you later."
Judy let out a soft laugh and spoke, "Okay and..I love you. Tell Aiden and Auggie I said I love them too."
"Bye sweetheart, And bye Leah."
The infant paid no mind to her father. "Shouldn't you stop feeding her breast milk by now?"
Nick asked.
"So she can be as dumb as you? No thank you." They both laughed and eventually said their goodbyes.
She ended the call and sat Aleah on the sink once again. The little grey and orange bunny wore a shirt that said, Daddy's little diva, and a pair of light jean overalls on top.
The baby looked at her mother's depressed demeanor. Judy just looked at her daughter and forced a smile. "Don't worry, Leah. We'll see daddy soon.
"Dada!" Aleah whimpered and tears formed the baby's eyes.
Judy bit her lip. She missed Nick too. But he had to have his bachelor party and even decided to take Auggie and Aiden. Her two baby boys.
Though he had only been gone for a week (because of flights being delayed due to a storm) Judy felt like crying.
Seeing how Aleah never even felt his paws on her, but she still calls out to him when sad, is heart warming to the grey bunny. The infant's first word was surprisingly blueberries. Well, she pronounced it as boowerries but it was still cute.
Judy sighed and picked up her now sobbing daughter. She looked at her ring and showed it to her.
"This is the ring daddy gave me. Do you see, it has the colors of his eyes?" She told her and the baby nodded as if she knew what Judy was talking about.
"I remember...me and daddy had matching necklaces, to remind each other that we were always with each other. And..even without the necklace. You remind me if him soo much." She let out a shaky breath.
Aleah couldn't quite understand emotions yet, but she knew her mother missed her father. And she understood what Judy had said about the ring.
As tears fell from Judy's eyes, Aleah tried to speak. "Nu. Nu mommy."
Judy lifted an ear at the baby and quickly got the message. She shouldn't be crying! Nick's only been gone for a week, not a year.
And the boys will okay, they're tough like their father. Only if their plane wouldn't have been delayed on their flight back to Zootopia.
But Judy held her head high. A week is not forever. She told herself, hoping she wasn't foreshadowing it.
"Alright Leah. Let's go." She picked up her four month old daughter and phone before going back into the store.
When she got there she was surprised at what she saw...
