Yui's PoV

My eyes locked with Daryl's. His eyes were dangerously clear. As if he was determined to do something stupid. 

My eyes widened when I suddenly got his message. Nope, scratch that, he's about to do something crazy.

"Oi!" he abruptly shouted, making all of our attentions gather to where he is. Throwing it sideways, he tossed the gun right at dad. Dad caught it perfectly, without another second of any sort of recovering, he immediately fired.

It worked. Now we're both armed.

"W-Wh-what the?! What do you think you're doing?!" the man who was pointing a gun at us, whom I assume was Daryl's father, yelled. But Daryl ran, and picked up two other guns from hidden spots around the house. Do all mobsters have that kind of hobby? Dad does it too.

All of a sudden, a gun was tossed my way. I barely caught it, but I got a grip.

"Y'know. I've actually seen some files in your office before." Daryl spoke up in a quiet, but clear voice, "I didn't understand it at that time, but something Yui said to me made me come clear to what kind of monster you really are."

Eh? Me? What did I say?

"Behind you!" mom shouted. Just on cue, Daryl dodged a chair that was flying towards him. A very, very bulky guy walked out with a furious expression.

"Daryl... I always knew you turn traitor." The man looked about his age.

Then, I heard a click. Daryl must handle that guy on his own now, since dad is going against the leader of the Golden Phoenix, and I still need to protect mom from these random peasants.

"Get the girl first!" I heard someone shout. Dammit, I may be well trained, but they're far more built and experienced... if this keeps up, we'll be in real trouble....

Daryl's PoV

"Darren, listen. He killed my mother." I tried to reason at first, but of course he can't process between the good guy and bad guy. He just assumes I'm the bad guy because I'm rebelling.

"A traitor has nothing to say!" he yelled before chucking another piece of furniture at me. Whoa, dude. This guy can lift up a boulder.

Fine. I thought as my eyebrows knitted together tightly. I fished out a gun from my belt as he did same with a knife.

This is gonna get real ugly.

A knife, in my opinion, can never beat a gun. Since a gun is far-distanced, and you can only harm someone with a knife in close range, or if you're amazing at daggers. That's a whole different story.

"Don't make me shoot at you, Darren." I say, my tone horrifyingly cold. I'm pretty sure he got the message that I won't spare him for any relative matter, and he knows how perfect my accuracy is.

I can tell he hesitated. But then, his eyes flickered to my right. My reflexed kicked in as I immediately fired towards that direction, shooting one of Darren's allies right in the stomach.

"Grrrgh... it really is hard to get past you.... And I really would've looked up to you...! If only you didn't get in my way of being leader." He stated as he raised his knife. I clicked off the safety of my gun.

Arian's PoV

What do I do...? Gosh I feel not only useless, but also a huge burden on Soryu and Yui. They were both trained for these situations, I'm not. They're distracted when they're trying to keep me from harm.

That boy over there who suddenly gave us weapons... is fighting another. They seem to be speaking, but tension was clear in the air.

After a short pause, gun fire finally broke out rapidly.

This isn't going to work, this is their headquarters, they must have back ups. Fishing out my phone, I texted Mei Ling: 'get help'

That's probably the most I could do.

Soryu's PoV

I didn't have time to react as shocked to Alen's son helping us. Gun fire quickly broke out again.

I take glances at Arian constantly, she seems really scared.

I'm also very glad my daughter can fight alongside me, but at the same time I really worry for her safety. I'm wearing a bullet proof vest, but all she's got on is a pistol.

"Soryu Oh. I tried for us to have a truce... but now you leave me no choice, old pal." Alen says as he aimed at my head. I'm at a huge disadvantage since he can move around, but I can't.

Just then, a click was heard, and a gun was pushed up right against Alen's head.

Never in my life have I been happier to see Inui and Samejima.

And... the entire Ice Dragon gang?

"We've got you now!" Inui says, him and Samejima are pointing guns at the head of the Golden Phoenix! I can see the results of their training.

But how did they come? I've never contacted them.

"Princess! I'm so glad to see you!!!" Inui shouted. Nevermind, he hasn't changed at all.

Yui let out a sigh of relief as she lowered her arm.

Just when I relaxed for half a second, out of the corner of my eye...

Alen charged at Yui. I tried to stop him but my grip was loose, I wouldn't be able to make it!

*boom*

Alen was forced to stop in his tracks. He clutched onto his bleeding shoulder.

My jaw dropped in shock as I see none other but his son with his gun pointed at his own father.

"Don't. Touch. Her." He says in such a cold voice, it could go against mine. Even though in his eyes, I can see bewilderment, like he couldn't believe what he just did, either.

"How dare you... these are the very people who murdered your mother!" Alen yelled across the room, but the boy's expression doesn't even waver.

Yui's PoV

H-He just shot his father.... What should I believe in now...?

I finally understood what he was giving me... it was trust....

"No, they aren't." Daryl says, still not lowering his gun, it was as if the world paused for him, "I saw those files in your office. You were the one who hired the culprits."

What? I didn't know he was such a cold-hearted man. I mean-killing his own wife?

The man frowned, "I thought you might've figured it out one day. I just thought it would've been too late then."

"You just admitted it." I blurted out. My grip was still tight on my gun.

"And it's all... your fault!" he shouted as he pounced towards me. My eyes squeezed shut due to my lack of experience though I held up the gun and fired.

But then, a second shot was heard. My eyelids flew open as I examined the corpse in front of me.

A pool of blood was already forming. I stepped back. My eyes flickered to dad. His gun was held up to him. I glanced back down at the body.

I shot him in the stomach, dad shot him directly in the head, killing him instantly.

My eyes automatically searched for Daryl's. His hair was shading his eyes.

"I never thought I'd actually kill him, he went too far." I heard dad mutter.

Technically, this is my first kill.

Mom immediately embraced me so tight I couldn't breathe. I hear the Ice Dragons start to cheer in the background.

I finally broke into a smile and hugged mom back. I was enjoying a little moment when I heard someone order, "take them away."

My gaze flickered around until it landed on Daryl holding out his arms together.

"Wait, stop!" I burst out before it went through my mind.

Everyone's eyes were on me as I rushed to his side.

"He saved me." I mumbled. Having only him hearing me.

"What're you--"

Dad walked over as most people in the room were wondering who I was. I guess everybody was in such a rush they never got the info.

"Are you sure?" his eyes leaked concern as he asked me in a soft voice I've never heard from him before.

Daryl's PoV

My eyes never left her as she ran over. She probably didn't realize it but she had a tight grip on my sleeve.

"Are you sure?" the voice was so full of fatherly concern I almost didn't recognize it.

"Yeah." She smiled sheepishly. He nodded once before turning away.

"Let that one go." I heard him say to the men. They all obeyed without a question. He really has high authority in the Ice Dragons.

Most people cleared out really quickly, until it was only Yui and I at that corner.

"Why...?"

She was still looking at her mother and father before directing her gaze at me.

"Y'know, I've grown to trust you too, before you kidnapped me." She smirked slightly at the last part, and I felt a gush of guilt flow through me again, "so you'll have to earn it again."

"What...?" she was basically saying that she's giving me another chance.

"You heard me right." A genuine smile tugged at her lips.

"You don't have to do this--"

"I do what I want. End of discussion." She murmured something else right after, "just shut up already and be mine."

[*bangs head on table* this is too cheesy for me....]

Yui's PoV

I shut closed my eyes in embarrassment. I'm pretty sure my face is heating up. I think he heard what I said in the end despite my low tone....

"Closing your eyes like that... what're you expecting?" I heard his husky voice above my lowered head.

"Wha-" I was about to deny it when I looked up, our faces were so close our lips were brushing against each other.

"You sure have a way to seduce guys." He whispered against my lips before he literally sucked on my bottom lip. I backed up a step and hit the wall, I've never been kissed that way.

I wasn't pushing him away, that was enough of a sign for him to go on.

This time, instead of a nibble, his lips crashed into mine into a fierce kiss. It encouraged him to part my lips when I started responding right away.

I felt his large hands on my waist so I leaned in and slipped my arms around his neck.

His hands travelled up my back as I initiated our third kiss. It truly felt like he was afraid of losing something precious.

"I..." it slipped my mouth between my breaths. It made both mine and his eyes open in shock.

"...What?" he managed to whisper after half a minute.

Can I say it? What if he can't feel the same? I opened my mouth again, but the words don't come out anymore.

"Nothing... it's nothing." I say instead with a blank face. I desperately hide my inner emotions.

"Actually, I'm sorry about..." I couldn't continue. How can he have such a father?

"It's fine." He leaned his forehead against mine, "he's long forgotten humanity."

"So, what're your plans now?" I ask while still in our earlier positions.

"Hmm, if I could, I want to go abroad for university." He says, his eyes serious, "tutors aren't enough, I need actual experience. I still want to hunt down the people who actually committed the homicide."

"Oh..." so we're still going to be separated? After all this?

"If you're gonna be lonely, you can come with me."

I thought he was flirting again until I looked into his eyes. He was actually offering.

I felt a smile form on my lips, "I'll think about it."
