Misaki's PoV

I ran out on my hero? Nope. I ran out on my 'secret dad'! I don't care if that doesn't make sense! How could she? When every time she shakes her head and sigh about how alike I am to him. Then all of my points that aren't mom's are his?

L-Like the multi-timer attitude...?

My head jerked to my left when there was a squeaking sound of metal. I breathed in deeply and exhaled when I realized it was Beau who sat down on the swing next to mine in the park where we had our first conversation.

"You got the hint." I say trying to muffle my breaking voice.

"Yeah." he said gently and just smiled lightly for me and a comfortable silence fell over us. I like how he isn't pushing me to talk. Sometimes people push you to talk about your sorrow, they think they're helping you by letting you get over it. But in many occasions, they're not.

W-well, I mean. Did he even ever try to find mom? Even if he didn't know I existed?

"...Who?" he suddenly asked. Then I realize I just said my last thought out loud.

"Ota Kisaki is my...my father." my voice fading more and more, I tried to tell him the whole story. He gave me his full attention. "A-and, I just ran out. Here. And called you." I finished, still hiccuping through breaths.

"C'mere." he said quietly and I obeyed. Even sitting on his lap he was still taller. I was small enough to fit perfectly into his broad chest. His arms wrapped softly around me, his right hand was lightly pressing my head into his shoulder.

A few minutes passed, when my sobbing mostly subsided. He spoke up awkwardly, "Misaki...I..uh...don't know how to comfort girls...um..are you alright?"

His decent words cracked a smile on my face as he wiped a tear away with his left thumb.

"...even though you have girls around you all the time?" I ask, still grinning.

"I dunno....I don't really care when they do. I mean, I just emptily say things like 'everything'll be alright'. Even if I know myself that they're not real at all, I can still manage some words. But right now, nothing's coming to mind...and I don't want you to think I'm just saying empty words."

Slightly touched, I look into his dark emerald eyes, they bore into mine. I can't look away as we gazed at each other for a few seconds. He started leaning in cautiously, as if observing my reactions second by second. As if stuck in place, I didn't move nor look away, either.

3 inches...

2 inches...

Just an inch away...

"Misaki! Where are you! Come out this instant!"

The sudden shock of voice through the peaceful park jerked both of us back in bolt.

"That's my mom! And the rest of the guys are probably all with her!" I whisper shouted and got to my feet.

"Miu! I know you're here!" another voice called. Baba. "We heard voices!"

Just as I'm panicking where to escape to, a light shove got me behind a wide slide. Thanks, Beau. I thought. Just two seconds after, I heard a trail of footsteps approach just a thin piece of metal behind me.

"Excuse me, um have you seen a girl with dirty blonde hair and honey eyes about this tall around here?" that's mom speaking.

"Oh, Beau! What're you doing here? It's seven blocks away from your house!" that's Ota's voice, "and by the way, have you seen Misaki?"

There we go. He learned my name. Real name.

"Misaki? No. Why? Is she missing or something?" As a pro, I can tell his voice was obviously wavering of a liar. But gotta admit he's driving the subject away from why he's here.

"Well...she kinda ran off...." Baba's voice speaks.

"Huh? What happened?" there was genuine surprise in his tone. Nice going.

"Ah, sorry. We can't go into detail right now." Ota says once more, I could tell he was looking around.

"Come on! Let's check her school! And keep checking her dorm. That'll be the only two places she could've gone to." mom's anxious voice made me waver a bit. No. I'm standing my ground till I can approve of this.

The gang quickly thanked Beau and ran off. Which now I knew was mom, Baba and Ota. Of course, you wouldn't expect the cold millionaire, the mobster and the lazy detective to run around looking for a runaway girl who has nothing to do with them, would ya?

"Good luck!" Beau yelled after them. Then, after about two minutes, just to make sure they're really gone. I stepped out cautiously from behind the slide.

"I knew it." as soon as I did, a deep voice lured over me. I let out a little yelp and jumped back before looking up to those pair of cold, piercing eyes that only one person has.

"Eisuke? Soryu? Even detective Kishi?" I say, surprised.

"Relax, kid. We're not here to drag ya back. That's too much work." Mamoru said while puffing out another mouth full of smoke.

"Then..?" I recompose myself. And feel Beau standing slightly behind me to my left. I can tell he's getting nervous.

"I don't usually care about other people's business. But why'd you get so upset?" Soryu spoke. A lot, which is why it doesn't really suit his usual character back in the lounge.

I remained silent for some time. And they don't seem pushy about it.

"I'm not gonna force you to talk, and we're not saying we found you. It's just up to you to where you'll be staying for the time being that you're for some reason angry." Eisuke said. These people are actually sorta nicer than I thought.

"Can I go back now? I'm tired." Mamoru said and turned away without another word. Eisuke turned on his heels as well.

"...Just stay safe." Soryu left with that as well.

Beau's PoV

After the other three men left, Misaki let out a long sigh and sat back down on the end of the slide she was just before hiding behind.

I recall just about ten minutes ago, I held her in my arms as we sat on one swing. She was a lot lighter than I would've imagined--not that I constantly imagine how it would be like to hold her--my self-control completely went out the window when her honey eyes captured mine.

I wanted those soft lips to myself. I leaned in slowly, and she didn't show any signs of backing away. The sudden shout of a woman's voice snapped me right back to painful reality.

As I lied to Mr. Kisaki and his girlfriend, I can literally feel my palms getting sweaty. I wasn't a good liar. That's why I find it amazing at Misaki's acting skills.

"Beau? Are you okay? You're spacing out." Just then I realize she's suddenly right in front of me.

Right. I can't let her know until I'm sure she does.

"Yeah. Just thinking about what happened a minute ago." I said smoothly, since it technically wasn't a lie.

"I know, right?" she laughed at herself, "Thanks for covering for me."

"What're friends for." I say sat down on the slide next to her. She gulped and furrowed her brows for an instant before returning to normal. Hm? Was it something I said?

She looked deep in thought for a long time. If she's worrying where she'll stay at...

"If you're worried about shelter. You can stay over. It's only about forty minutes from here by foot." I blurted out without thinking.

She seemed slightly surprised before nodding, "please."
