Eisuke - nine
"This is a modern fairytale, no happy endings, no winning ourselves. But I can't imagine a life without, breathless moments breaking me down~down~down..."
When I turn on my iPod, this was the part that played on. I haven't listened to music since that day I first met Ayden--when he was swinging from the roof--this song was paused for days here.
Well, I admit that life's been much more exciting since I came to Tres Spades, but very exhausting, as well.
It was the next morning, I went out to the hallways and tiptoe danced around a bit. Headphones on. It's nice to know that nobody's out here this early in the morning, and I can just be a little crazy.
Lost in myself slightly, I closed my eyes and spun two rounds, until I felt arms around me from behind.
Jolting, I quickly pull off my headphones and turn around, angry. "What?" I say when Cole's face came into view, I slapped him off and took a few steps away from him. He's dressed as he always was, like a rebel.
"I just wanted to see you," he said, with a cold smirk on his face. Before I could say 'you creep', the sound of someone singing rang through the hallway.
I can't believe this guy!!! He recorded me singing and even set it to be his ringtone?! He picked up his phone, and his expression immediately become serious and very business-like.
"Ciao." he said in a polite manner. Must be talking to someone important.
"Sì." he last said before hanging up. I understood some Italian, more or less hello and goodbye.
"I'm just gonna..." I trail off as I turn and try to go back to the suite, but he pulls me back by my shoulder and slipped my phone out of its pocket before I know it. He skillfully exchanged our numbers and stuffed it back in my pocket right where it was before.
"Text 'ya later." he winked at me before walking off.
What the hell is wrong with him...? I muttered in my head during lunch. Alone. Just two hours ago mom had a huge giddy grin on her face while informing me she's going out for the day. And I saw dad smiling to himself in front of the mirror as well. Love-sick, what should I say?
After school work, I was extremely bored, I had the entire penthouse to myself since all the guys were out on job, even Ota went to his studio. By the way, isn't the next I.V.C the day after tomorrow? They'll need to do last-minute touches for the auctions.
Heading up to the VIP floor, where the I.V.C. will be held, I wanted to check the place out. The tables were already set up and there were lots of hotel maids working around preparing. Now, everybody in the hotel knew me as 'a guest of Mr. Ichinomiya's', so I'm free to walk around.
Just as I headed deeper into the room, where there wasn't anybody else around, I spot something flash by and chased after it.
Just like any heroine in a horror movie would.
Ayden's POV
To find out what was going on here, I needed to check the place out first.
"Ayden? What are you doing here?" I heard a confused voice behind me just as I was about to pull out my phone to snap a few pictures. She scared me and I nearly dropped my phone.
"Akemi? What about you?" I choke out and quickly stuff my phone back in my pocket. She looked at me with that pair of hazel gold eyes of hers. The time when uncle mentioned Ichinomiya's daughter, I've been thinking about it. And it wasn't impossible, she looked like him. Seeing her here just makes more proof.
"I'm a guest, I'm free to walk around. But you're sneaking," she says, without a change of tone. I sigh, what am I supposed to say?
Then, I heard someone coming our way. Hide. was the first thing that came to mind, but there were no rooms anywhere nearby, the one on my right was locked, and only a key card can open it.
When I readied myself to be discovered, I heard a beep and turn to find Akemi holding the key card and opening the door, urging me to go in. I take the hint and quickly rushed in, she followed in after and quietly shut the door. I heard footsteps and chattering pass by, then I let out a breath of relief.
She cleared her throat, to remind me I'm not alone. She helped me even though she wasn't even sure what I was doing. And why does she have a key card to access to all doors in the hotel? I question, she can't have something so important if she's just a guest.
But Miss Ichinomiya definitely has it. The thought passed my mind, and I shook.
"What're you up to?" she asked suspiciously as she neared me. Our faces were inches away as she looks up and holds my gaze. Her eyebrows slightly knitted in, her long eye lashes were like soft catkins hanging down. She looked right into my eyes, then furrowed her brow and swallowed.
Under subconsciousness, I glanced at her lips. The next thing I know, I'm leaning into her, closing up the already little space between us. She looked nervous but didn't back away.
Just as my lips brush against hers, there was a ticking sound of a text message. And as if snapped out of a trance, she stepped back and blushed furiously.
"Akemi...!" I managed to say before she dashed out. I took out my phone, I'm gonna kill whoever has the worst timing in the world, but when I see it's from uncle Tadashi, all my anger leaked out.
"Ayden, have you found anything? Is there anything suspicious?"
He interrupted just for that!
What is this feeling? I think on my way out, the coast was clear, I left after a few pics.
I feel really disappointed.
Akemi's POV
How in the world did I allow myself to do that?
I ran all the way back to the penthouse. But I can't say I disliked how I felt. I shook my head like crazy when I crossed the lounge.
"Is something the matter, princess?" I lift up my head to see Baba and Ota smiling at me.
Shaking my head again, I head upstairs to dad's private suite.
~~~~~
It was the first day of the I.V.C./auction. I'm dressed in an emerald dress with turquoise nail polish. My hair was up in an elegant bun that's held there with a shining dark green pin. Dad, mom and I headed to where the I.V.C was held. Groupies still gush over dad, no matter how coldly he demands them to leave him.
"Rabbit, dry red wine," he said to the bartender. And the bartender replied: "welcome to the mad hatter's tea party." Then, we entered a room with mirrors as walls. Dad pushed on one of them, and the door that leads to an elevator opens. Dad taught me how these things work before.
In the auction hall, we sat in seats and watched as each item got bid off.
Baba's PoV
I watched as Akemi rushed upstairs after saying she's fine.
"She really is just like Eisuke." Ota remarks as he sits down on the sofa, "they're both so difficult about their feelings."
"I'd say she's got a crush." I turned my gaze back and stated confidently.
"How'd you know?" Ota asks with a surprised expression.
"That's exactly how boss acted when he started getting attached to Arian at first." I reasoned, recalling the past.
"They just won't admit it themselves when they like someone."
"Just watch, next she's gonna doze off at random times thinking about it."
"...I can actually picture that...."
