It Must Have Been Fate (Spaceman x Reader)

I don't know how long I'd been waiting around at the stadium, but by the end of the night, I'm kind of glad I stuck around. I couldn't help but to wander off while we waited for the concert to start, since I already had my makeup and costume on- And sure, playing the role as "The Spaceman" on stage was kind of fun, but the fans couldn't seem to reconnect with the persona - Or connect with me at all - after Ace Frehley left the band.

Anyway, I don't know what caught me off guard that much, but I'd accidentally bumped into someone else while I was walking. I kept my balance, but the other person fell over, unfortunately.

"Oops, my bad... Are you alright?" I said to them quickly. "I'm really sorry, I wasn't even watching where I was going..." I took a second to examine the person, who took the hand I offered and stood up shakily. It was a young woman, maybe around twenty-seven? She had a backstage pass around her neck, which was likely - No, definitely the reason she was back here. But I really couldn't get over how beautiful she was, I hardly realized that I'd been staring at her.

"It's okay, I'm fine." The girl said, and I shook the feeling away for a second. She sounded like she was repeating herself, which made me feel a bit bad.

"Good, good to hear." I replied, giving the girl a warm smile. "My name's Tommy."

"I know." The girl said, smiling back up at me. Of course, she was only joking around, but I felt pretty stupid. It was obvious that she'd know my name, and I had to mentally facepalm.

"Well.. What's your name?" I spoke again.

"Rocky." She replied. "It's really nice to meet you, Tommy."

I smiled faintly at her statement, even if anybody would have said the same thing. "It's nice to meet you, too, Rocky." I said, then paused for another second. Her eyes were a light shade of brown, and even though it was the most common, her eyes captivated me as if they were the rarest, the most beautiful.

"Listen," I started again, shaking the thoughts out of my head. "Will you meet me here, in the same place, after the concert is over? I want to keep talking then." I glanced at the clock above us, it was getting pretty close to showtime. "Just in case the security guards don't let you back in, I'll talk to them, okay?"

I don't know if the relief in me was noticeable when Rocky nodded, but I hope not. "Sure." She replied happily. "I have to go find my seat, but I'll see you here!"

As Rocky walked off, I heard another voice behind me. "Tommy, we need to put a leash on you!" Of course, that was Gene's sarcasm from down the hall.

"Sorry!" I called back to him cheekily. Gene only sighed deeply as he caught up with me.

"What're you doing back here?" He said. "We have to start the concert soon."

"Sorry, Gene." I repeated. "I just met a girl here..."

"Ooh. Was she hot?"

"Have some dignity, Gene. C'mon."

"Never. Now let's go. You play the guitar, remember?"

"Oh, right, I do that." Gene just rolled his eyes and lead me off to the stage entrance, and as we walked out with Paul and Eric, I couldn't stop thinking about Rocky for a minute, and what I could possibly say to her after the concert was over.

Once again, it was impossible to get Rocky out of my mind. I was just lucky that I didn't mess up during the show. Rocky happened to be at the front of the crowd, and I kept looking to her more than anybody in the crowd.

She seemed to like the bit of attention, so I tried to impress her during a guitar solo. I even held the guitar behind my head while playing, and above it once the solo was over. Bad idea, I ended up dropping the thing... Rocky seemed to be laughing faintly as I walked off the stage, I just hope that was a good thing.

The concert was over soon, and for once, I was happy about that. I didn't even stop to talk with any of the other fans, and I went straight to the backstage area, the same spot as before the concert. It must have been the best feeling ever when I saw Rocky, waiting for me backstage.

"Rocky!" I called. She turned to face me as I approached her, and I guess we were both already smiling. "Look, I'm gonna cut right to the point.." I paused for a minute, suddenly rethinking the situation. I was planning on asking her out, but what if she said no?

I glanced back down at Rocky, a bit nervously now. But the look in her eyes was different now, and it surprised me; I could see love and appreciation shining perfectly clear in her eyes, it just reassured me about the question. "Rocky, would you like to go out with me sometime?" I finished the question, and Rocky's expression seemed to light up.

"I'd love to." Rockey replied. "Can I give you my phone number?"

"Well, I haven't got my phone on me right now." I admitted, then gestured towards the pants on my costume. "No pockets. Can I give you mine?" Rocky laughed faintly in response, then nodded and gave me her iPhone. I punched in my phone number into her contacts quickly, then handed the phone back to her.

"Thanks, Tommy. I'll see you later, then." After she said that, Rocky ended up really surprising me by kissing me on the cheek before she walked off. I almost couldn't believe it, she really liked me, and that was amazing.

"Oooh... Spacey's got a girlfriend." I heard Eric say behind me. I turned just to see him start laughing.

"Oh, shut up. At least I can GET a girlfriend." I pointed out. Yeah, that seemed to shut him up.

I had a date with Rocky a week after the concert, and it went really well. I'm looking forward to spending time with her more often. She's the first girl to really have stolen my heart.
