A lot of people grow up hating rainy days. It's dark, gloomy, boring... And, perhaps worst of all, it cuts out a lot of opportunities to pass the time, given one can't go outside unless they don't mind getting wet.
But for you and Paul, rainy days were an opportunity. It was something you bonded over when you first met, and something you still enjoyed together to this day.
You'd found plenty of things to do with him over the years for days just like this. But you could both agree; The best thing to do on a cold, rainy night, was to curl up on the couch and watch horror movies. And since Paul didn't seem to have any concerts coming up, it looked like he would be staying the night at your place.
So that's where you sat; Right next to your boyfriend with a bowl of popcorn in your lap, and a brand new movie on the TV; Child's Play. It was barely out of the theatres yet.
"Hey, babe?" You whispered under the movie's dialogue.
"Yeah?" He whispered back through a mouthful of popcorn.
"Wanna try something different today?"
"...Like what?"
You got up, paused the movie, walked to the window and pulled the curtain aside.
"...We can't go out in that." Paul said.
"Why not?" You whined jokingly. "Look, it's raining cats and dogs out there. Doesn't it look like fun? I have extra raincoats, we can kick puddles at each other and watch to see if there'll be lightning... Whatever you wanna do."
Paul paused. He pretended to think about the proposal for a while, though it was clear he'd made up his mind, just by the grin on his face. "What's in it for me?" He asked.
Your shoulders fell and you started to laugh. "If you come out with me, I won't kick the puddles at you as hard!" You promised. "Come on, when's the next time it's gonna rain? This province is dryer than th-"
"Alright, alright," Paul laughed and held his hands up, interrupting you. "I'll get my shoes on. Go find those rain coats!"
"On it!" You beamed and ran up the stairs - Tripping on the way up, to Paul's amusement, before making your way to the linen closet.
You had bought an extra raincoat for this very occasion, when you'd finally convince someone - Let alone someone like your boyfriend, to be out in the rain with you. (Everyone knew it and you did, too; Paul was always a bit of a narcissist.)
Sure, sitting inside and curling up on the couch was fun. But it was at least ten times more fun to be outside, feeling the rain on you and ignoring people who thought you were crazy for being outside on a day like this.
"[Y/N]! Almost done up there?" Paul called from downstairs.
"Almost! Just getting the raincoats," You called back. You took your coat; A lovely, silky-looking black one you found at a thrift shop, and threw it over your shoulders, buttoning it up only slightly before running back downstairs.
"Well, did you enjoy your time up there? I was starting to fall asleep down here." Paul said with a smile. He already had his boots on, and the leather jacket he'd brought along, and was waiting for your coat. Which you threw at him.
"Hey!" He exclaimed, trying to block himself from the coat. It didn't work. "That's it, you're going down out there."
"Well, you're gonna have to catch me, first," You chimed, and ran outside. Paul scrambled to get his coat over his shoulders and buttoned up before running out after you.
The first thing you saw fit to do was jump in the biggest puddle you could find. Paul was close behind, and as soon as he got close enough, he pretended to trip and brought you down with him. Now you were both laying in a puddle, laughing until your sides hurt. You could tell you were being watched from the houses and glared at like you were crazy. But, who cares?
"You're a jerk!" You wheezed out. "That was on purpose!"
"Well, yeah." Paul was grinning ear-to-ear. "I told you you're going down out here."
"Yeah, yeah." You giggled quietly. "You're still a jerk, though."

Soon the two of you went inside and ate dinner; Then you decided to throw on another scary movie, given the time of year, and Paul didn't seem to have any problem with that. Especially since it meant the two of you could sit together on the couch.
It was a little strange that it had been raining this hard for so long, but, who cares? A little rain never hurt anyone.
It was 11 at night now, you were laying on Paul's chest and hardly paying attention to the movie anymore. Your boyfriend was just so damn comfortable, and it was nearly midnight with a less-than-scary movie playing on the old television. No wonder you were beginning to doze off.
"[Y/N]?" Paul whispered. "...Hey, babe! Don't pass out yet, the movie's starting to get good."
You yawned. "I'm tired." You admitted with a small smile. "And I can't imagine that a movie mainly consisting of bloodfests is starting to get good."
"But it is getting better." He insisted, before looking down at you, while you were watching the movie through half-closed eyes. "...You wanna call it a night?"
You nodded slowly. "Mhmm."
"Alright." Paul smiled a little bit and pulled you closer, holding you tighter. You fell asleep rather quickly, and Paul wasn't much longer. Eventually the movie ended and returned to the menu, leaving the two of you in silence.
