I turn to Abe, who nods in the direction Damien went.
"Go see what you can find." He says.
"I'm going to run more..." Abe looks at me.
"tests." He finishes running two fingers under his nose as he slowly crouches down. I almost snicker at this. I turn and walk in the direction Damien went. I come up to a door, which is slightly ajar, and I see a silhouette of Damien. He was having an argument with someone, so I decided to see if they would spill anything about the murder,
"How could you be so flippant?" Damien hollers.
"Flippant?!" Damien's arguing with the Colonel. "I'm taking this matter very seriously!"
"Oh, don't give me that horseshit! I know you hated him, but.. goddamn it, he reached out to you!" Damien almost yells at William.
"Oh what do you want from me?" William grumbles.
"Wh- I want you to care!" Damien shouts.
"Just because I'm not weeping like a child doesn't mean I don't care." William defends.
"I can't believe you..." Damien says softly. "You come find me when you get your head out of your ass!" Damien says a little bit louder before turning in my direction. Shit! Damien notices me in the doorway and takes a step back. He then pushes through the door.
"Excuse me." Damien softly mumbles before he passes me. I decide not to go after him, instead I open the door and stand facing William with one hand on my hip. The aura in the room completely changed, it was more negative than the actual murder scene. William's sitting in his chair leaning his head against his hand. He must've felt my presence because he gave an exasperated sigh.
"Damien, I don't-" William starts to say before looking up to see that I'm not Damien. I raise my eyebrow and walk closer to him. William gets up out of his chair and smiles.
"Hello sweetheart~" He says as he runs his hand down my arm. I shake my head.
"Look, William, as much as I love you flirting with me, I really need to know where you were at 1:30 this morning." I say crossing my arms. William sighs.
"I was in my bed thinking about the fun night I had with you, my dear." He says putting his hand to his side. I raise my eyebrow.
"Can anyone prove that?" I ask. William shakes his head. Thought so. I was about to ask him when he saw Mark last, but another question slipped out of my mouth.
"Do you miss Mark?" I ask, my voice breaks a bit as I ask the question and my arm falls to my side. William seemed startled by the question.
"I mean, he hasn't been gone very long, but.." I almost burst into tears when I feel two strong arms wrap around me.
"Yes, I miss him." I hear William say softly. I hug him back. I had a feeling he was saying that to make me feel better.
"Yea, I didn't like him very well.." He must've read my mind. "but I did kinda liked him, as a friend. It's complicated. I'll miss him somehow." I feel a tear roll down my cheek. I melt into William's hug as he rubs his hand up and down my back gently.
"You know I'm here for you." He says. I nuzzle my face into the crook of his neck and wish he never lets go. While I was melting into William, I got a strange feeling. I opened my eyes slightly to see the silhouette, clearer than before. My eyes shot open, the silhouette put its hands behind its back and tilted its head. It was clear that it was a man, it had short hair, and it had a muscular physique. It was also a little taller than me.
"So, Bully.." William said before pulling away slightly. My eyes go back to William as he puts my hands in his. I quickly glance in the direction of the silhouette, but it was gone so I look back at William. I didn't realize how close we were, and my I felt my heartbeat get quicker. One of his hands slipped out of my hand and around my waist. The other hand made its way to my face, and William rested his hand on my cheek. Ohhhh I have an idea! I rest my hands on his chest as he pulls me closer. William softly smiles as he rests his forehead on mine.
"I love you.." William whispered as he pushed some of my bangs behind my ear. Our noses brush against each other as I smile.
"I love...." I start, leaning closer to William. I stay there for a second then suddenly pull away from him.
"that you think you're going to win the bet." I finish as I smirk. William looks at me with surprised eyes.
"H-How..?" He stutters. I walk toward the door.
"Damien~" I say sing-songy. I rest my hand on the arch of the doorway and face William.
"By the way, I love all of you guys." I say. Will looked stunned, that made me chuckle.
"Don't act so surprised." I say. I turn to walk out the door.
"That's what makes it difficult to choose." I mumble before going into the hallway.
"Oh, (Y/N). This is why I love you so much." I hear him mumble. "Wait, WHAT!?" I hear him almost scream. I laugh as I run down the hall looking behind me to see if William will follow me. I chuckle as I look forward. I approach another hallway, and the silhouette emerge from the hall, he has more features than last time, a thin beard is visible now. Along with tanner skin that is mostly transparent. I gasp as I realize how close I am to him and I try to stop running. I was too late, and I run into something, causing it to fall with me.
