"What's going on?" Jeongguk asked, chewing on his bottom lip nervously as his leg bounced without a pause.

"God knows," Jimin replied. He was leaning against Jeongguk's desk counter as they both stared through the window to Taehyung's office where Mr. Park and he were talking.

"I thought you said you could lip-read, hyung," Jeongguk mumbled, his eyes not leaving the two men. And yes, they were now on hyung basis.

"Yeah well, I also said your hair looks nice today."

Jeongguk's head snapped to look at the older with an offended scoff. Jimin looked back at him and flashed a smile. "I'm just kidding," he sang and Jeongguk shook his head before they both returned their attention to the office.

"Okay, but what do you think is going on?" Jeongguk rephrased and Jimin inhaled sharply.

"Well, knowing my father, he's probably pretending to be an angel and trying to manipulate Taehyung to step away from the election."

"How's he planning on doing that? Director Kim's already decided."

Jimin looked over at Jeongguk and raised a brow. "Really? Director Kim? He's your boyfriend, just use his name. Show bitches he's your man."

"Yeah, I try not to make a habit of it in the office."

"People herr don't know yet?"

"Nope. Better if fewer people do. Plus keep it professional and all."

"Hmm, I guess so," Jimin agreed. "That's fun too, an secret work romance, kinda sexy. You two must be great at being sneaky around the office."

"What do you mean?"

"Oh you know what I mean. Haven't y'all had office sex yet? No no, the question should be where in the building have y'all done it till now!"

"Jimin!" Jeongguk whisper-yelled, hoping that would somehow make Jimin speak in a hushed tone as well.

"I'm just messing with you, god you're just precious," Jimin chuckled. L

"This is no time to joke!" Jeongguk whispered again, not knowing why this time.

"Oh, don't worry, babe. Everything will be fine," Jimin assured him but Jeongguk wasn't so convinced.

Mr. Park came unexpectedly that morning. Everyone was in a hassle to finish up the proposal, busy more than usual. Jeongguk was especially stressed trying to workout Taehyung's schedule when the man walked in without calling. Jeongguk then had to reschedule a meeting so that Mr. Park could have a cup of tea with the director.

"By the way, I know Taehyung's your best friend but why aren't on your dad's side?" Jeongguk asked but quickly added, "you don't have to answer that."

"Nah. My dad's an asshole. He's always bitching about me not being more like Jihyo. I mean, I get him. He doesn't come from the most well off family. My mom's side of the family treated him like shit for it. He wants his kids to not embarrass him even further. Now that Grandpa chose Taehyung over him, he thinks no one will take him seriously. I would've sided with him if he actually tried to put the effort in. All he does is use my mom's money to invest in shitty properties. Taehyung's worked his ass off, he deserves it."

"That... that sucks," Jeongguk said, not knowing what else he could say. He's always been terrible whenever one of his friends complained about their parents or teachers as he then felt terrible to say anything bad to support said friend about an elder he barely knew.

"Yeah, tell me about it. Oh! Oh! They're standing up," Jimin exclaimed and they both were on full defence as they watched Mr. Park and Taehyung share a hand then Tehyung led him to the door. Jeongguk stood up as Mr. Park came out, bowing to the man that spared a glance at Jimin and walked past him. They had come together but his father knew who Jimin was truly there for.

"What happened?" Jimin asked as soon as his father left.

Taehyung sighed, looking tired, and tilted his head towards his office, reopening his door. Jimin nodded and went in, understanding they couldn't risk being overheard.

"You're not coming?" Taehyung asked.

"Huh? Oh yeah," Jeongguk said and stood up from his desk. Sometimes he didn't know where to draw the line with his relationship with Taehyung or when to do it.

Once Jimin and Jeongguk were seated, Taehyung started. "He said he'd vote for me at the Board of Directors meeting."

"What? My father? My dad? My dad? He said that? What kind of reverse psychology is this?" Jimin questioned, throwing his hands in the air.

"He said he's dropping out of the race. If President Lee has my support then that must mean I truly deserve it, he said. Then told me about how he knew he'd never be accepted into this family," Taehyung recounted.

"Ahh, I knew it. He's trying to guilt-trip you," Jimin said and shook his head.

"Jimin, even if he is, he has a point. We both worked hard but your father has more rights to this position than me," Taehyung said and Jimin scoffed. Jeongguk didn't really know how to contribute to the conversation. On one side, he wanted Taehyung to go for it but he also doesn't know if it's in his place to down talk a stranger and Jimin's father in that case.

"My ass. He's fine where he is. It's not like he wants the position to do any good for the company. I wouldn't be surprised if he fucks it up to get his so-called 'revenge'."

"Jimin... You can't pretend like your father hasn't been through a lot. He loves your mother too much to jeopardize the company. I'm also fine where I am."

"Bullshit. And you know it. Sure he may love my mom, doesn't mean he can't petty."

Taehyung sighed and rubbed his forehead with his fingers. Jimin groaned and kicked the couch lightly with the back of his shoes. They remained in silence until the knocks at the door brought them out of their thoughts.

"Come in," Taehyung said and Jeongguk stood up as it would seem unprofessional if someone saw him sitting with the two. Eunwoo came in nervously sensing the tensed atmosphere.

"The profiles," Eunwoo said, placing the folder down on the coffee table.

"Thank you, Mr. Cha," Taehyung said and Eunwoo bowed. Just as he was about to leave, Jimin called out.

"Hey, you."

Eunwoo turned around and pointed a finger at himself and Jimin nodded. "Are you free? Great! Come have drinks with me," he said and turned to Taehyung. "He's taking the rest of the day off. I need to cool down."

Taehyung was going to defend for Eunwoo but seeing the younger didn't even try to protest as Jimin pulled him out by his wrist and followed his lead carelessly, Taehyung couldn't bother. Taehyung sighed again, rubbing his face with his hands before looking at Jeongguk.

"I do not want to make enemies. What should I do, Gguk?" he asked, his voice small. Jeongguk frowned and moved from his seat so that he was as close to him as possible. The man took Taehyung's hand into his and held them tightly.

"Whatever you think is right, Tae. I'll support your decision no matter what, but you know this is one I can't make for you. I believe you'll make the right choice," Jeongguk said and Taehyung nodded. Jeongguk's frown curved deeper as he saw Taehyung's mood only worsen. He got up from his seat and leaned down to wrap his arms around him, not really caring about how somehow could possibly see them.

"Cheers!" everyone yelled as they brought their cups to clink in the middle. The proposal had been pitched and all they have to do now is wait to see which will be chosen.

"Here's to no more late-nighters!" Jisoo yelled chugging her glass down as everyone cheered to it again.

"Here's to more cuddle time," Jeongguk muttered, nudging Taehyung by his shoulder for it to only be heard by him. Taehyung chuckled and drank to that.

"Okay, before we get started, we need to address some things I have been too busy to do," Yoona clapped her hands and yelled. "Two of you," she began dramatically, pointing her hand around the table, "are secretly dating behind our backs."

Jeongguk froze in position as he was laying the pieces of meat on the grill. He didn't know why his heart was racing so fast at the thought of his colleagues finding out he was dating their boss. Would it be awkward? Would they think he was getting special treatment or even an unfair salary raise? Jeongguk knows they're better than that, they'll surely support them but what if it spreads? Not everyone will be on board with two men dating and what if President Lee is one of them? Taehyung will lose any and all chances of going to America. Forget America, he might even lose the current job he has.

"Jisoo and Jin! You sneaky foxes, when were you going to tell us?" Yoona finished her sentence after dragging much suspense. Jisoo rolled her eyes and made some remark about telling her to shut up and it just happened or something along the lines but Jeongguk didn't bother to listen. He just felt relieved it wasn't him. He would tell them eventually but he just wasn't ready for it now.

"The meat's burning," Jinyoung said, tapping his shoulder and Jeongguk snapped back to reality.

"Shit," he cursed under his breath and quickly flipped it. They could definitely be salvaged.

"Take a break," Taehyung said, reaching to grab the tong and scissors before Jeongguk could even say he just started. He just shyly pulled his hand away and muttered a thank you.

"Ooh, Director Kim, serve us well!" Eric cooed and they all shared a laugh.

"Don't you mean," Eunwoo paused to clear his throat. "Chief Executive Director Kim of Lee's America?" he finished in a loud announcer voice and everyone cheered obnoxiously except for Jeongguk who saw Taehyung's smile falter. He was still unclear about what he wanted to do.

"It's not decided yet, everyone," Taehyung said, focusing his gaze on the meat.

"Well we'll have a party either way. Congrats! Or, yay, you're staying!" Jisoo shouted getting agreeing hums from everyone. Jeongguk will surely have to tell them everything if and when they're leaving together.

They continued chatting about random nonsense until they became so drunk that they were could only spout nonsense at random intervals. Except for the couple who wanted to make sure everyone got home safely and even though Taehyung had insisted he would, Jeongguk kept at his limit. He was a lightweight but just to keep his self control.

"Karaoke!" one of them had announced but Jeongguk shot it down immediately. No one was in the right state for karaoke and he was just too tired after all those late nights working.

In the end, Jeongguk sent everyone off in a cab and made sure to tell the driver to send his number an alert when they got home safely. Taehyung was able to give Jeongguk a ride home as he knew he wouldn't be drinking.

"Stay with me tonight?" Jeongguk asked with a cute smile when they reached his apartment lot, his cheeks slightly tinted red. How could Taehyung possibly say no?

That's how they were both laying in Jeongguk's bed together, clinging to each other's bodies and silently staring at each other.

"Isn't it crazy?" Jeongguk whispered, drawing circles with his middle finger on Taehyung's back.

"Hm?"

"That we're here, after everything. After all these years, we found each other again? I mean, what are the odds that we end up in the same workplace? The same team? That I would be your assistant?"

"Seems like the universe really wants us together huh?" Taehyung said, pressing a light kiss on his cheek since he was just a millimetre away.

"Yeah... I hope we stay together forever, Tae," Jeongguk slurred, sleep evident in his tone as he pulled himself closer to the other's body.

"Really? You're fine with me for the rest of your life?" Taehyung asked, his tone shifting to a more serious side.

"There's no one else in this world for me, babe."

"You won't get bored of me?"

"Never, silly."

"How do you know?"

"'Cause," he mumble, eyes closed. "You've always got great math puns."

"Damn right I do," Taehyung chuckled and shut his eyes as well. "I love you."

"Love you more..." Jeongguk replied and that was the final exchange of the night as they fell deep into sleep.

•—•—•

"That's your house?" Jeongguk exclaimed staring at the computer screen with a slideshow of Taehyung's home in America. Taehyung hummed as a reply. The two were seated on Jeongguk's bed, the man slotted between Taehyung's legs. The other had his arms wrapped tightly around Jeongguk's waist and his head on his shoulder.

"My agency recommended this neighbourhood for the security," Taehyung explained. "I lived alone so I bought the smallest in the area that was up for sale at the time."

Jeongguk nodded clicking on the next slide. He didn't truly understand how rich Taehyung actually was. It was basically a mansion. There was both an indoor and outdoor pool, a home theatre, a floor for just a bar along with pool and tennis tables, a gym, a wine cellar, even an elevator and more rooms and bathrooms than one human being could possibly need. Jeongguk would surely need a map to keep himself from getting lost.

"There's enough room for us and our eleven children," Taehyung whispered making Jeongguk chuckle. Noticing Jeongguk's silence as he went back to the beginning, Taehyung sighed. "You don't like it?"

"No, it's beautiful! It's just..." Jeongguk trailed. They've joked about Taehyung being is sugar daddy but seeing all that he has in front of his eyes, Jeongguk couldn't help but feel like he was exploiting his boyfriend's money when he himself eats ramen two days of the week since that's the only way he could save up to indulge in his own luxuries. "I don't know if I deserve to live in such a place."

"Why do you say that, baby?" Taehyung asked with a pout on his lips. Jeongguk sighed and shut the laptop close.

"You earned this from your hard work. This apartment is the best I could afford and it's probably the size of one your bathrooms. I don't know. I'd feel like an intruder."

Taehyung took in a breath and turned Jeongguk's head to the side so that he could look at him. "I would've never got to this place if it weren't for you, Gguk. You're the one that made me believe I could do it when I applied to UPenn, that I could go to America, become a model. You've always helped me find my way. This house is yours as much as it's mine."

Jeongguk smiled knowing Taehyung just always has a way with his words and leaned in to give him a quick peck. Taehyung groaned at the little contact and picked Jeongguk up slightly by his waist to turn him around.

"But if you still feel weird, you could always pay rent," he said and the other knew by the grin on his face this had nothing to do with money.

Jeongguk rolled his eyes and his smile widened. "And how much would that be?"

"Let's see, four thousand seven hundred kisses per month," Taehyung replied and Jeongguk let out an exaggerated gasp.

"That is way too much, Mr. Landlord!"

"Better get started now then," Taehyung said.

Jeongguk bit down on his lips and hummed. His grabbed Taehyung by the collar and slowly pulled him in until their lips were just inches apart.

"Don't forget the down payment," Taehyung whispered right before their lips were connected. They could do it a million times but the sparks that Jeongguk feels everytime have never changed. He didn't need to relieve his first kiss when each and every one of them were special. Everything that involved Kim Taehyung had that effect on him.

"That counts as one, by the way," Taehyung pulled away momentarily to say.

"Shut up and kiss me."

"I was just sayin–"

"Now!"

KTH

"What's that?" Isaac inquired coming over to Taehyung's corner desk.

"A fan letter," Taehyung snickered as he read over it again for the eight time. The letter was all about how handsome and talented he was and how much of an inspiration he is to everyone, especially his fan.

"You already have fans?"

"Yup, my number one and only fan, my boyfriend," Taehyung cleared up. It wasn't exactly marked with his name but after years of reading his "secret" admirers love notes, he sure as hell knows Jeongguk's handwriting. It even came with his famous convenience store goodies. Taehyung's favourite part was where he attempted to write a sweet little message in English:

You keep shine like bright star. My bright star. I love you. Godspeed.

"Damn are you lucky, wish I had someone that'd do cute ass stuff like this." Isaac patted his back and returned to doing whatever he was up to.

Taehyung smiled and nodded. "So lucky," he muttered before grabbing a thumbtack to add the letter to his wall filled with to-do lists, schedules, quotes his roommates thought would help and, of course, the rest of his cute notes from Jeongguk.

There hasn't been a day that's gone by that Taehyung doesn't look up at that board and smile. No matter how stressful he felt, he'd look up from his book and feel his energy refuel. He'd think about Jeongguk's beautiful smile and that was all he needed to keep him going.

Who knew he'd be tearing down that board to be packed in a box and shoved aside so that Taehyung could rid himself of the guilt. Only then to be opened years later and hung up again after he saw Jeongguk smile because of him.
