twenty-one²: silly pranks

Jeongguk stopped in the parking lot of his apartment, parking right next to his precious baby that he missed so very much. He then looked at Taehyung who had been asleep the entire ride back. Jeongguk did get the most sleep during the plane ride. He looked adorable, Jeongguk reaching over to push the hair covering his forehead to the side was inevitable.

Taehyung stirred feeling his touch and his eyes fluttered opened slowly. "Are we at yours?" Taehyung asked and Jeongguk nodded. Taehyung pursed his lips, almost a pout, and nodded as well. They both unbuckled their belts and got out and around to the trunk. Taehyung helped Jeongguk pull out his luggage and then shut back the trunk.

"Give me a bye-bye kiss," Taehyung requested in his sleepy voice and Jeongguk chuckled. He leaned in and placed his lips on the other's, pressing it together for a moment both to lazy to embark a more heated route.

"Goodnight, Tae. Get home safe," Jeongguk said and Taehyung nodded. They shared a hug before Taehyung got back in the car and Jeongguk made way to the elevators. He turned around to get a quick glance at Taehyung but all he saw was man's head against the steering, hands in his hair.

Taehyung had been tired from the plane ride and Jeongguk heard about all the day's work he did at the farm from his dad. The man was beyond tired and he couldn't send him back home in these conditions. Jeongguk shook his head and walked back over to the car. He knocked on the window until he caught Taehyung's attention.

He rolled down the window with a pleased yet drowsy smile. "You want another kiss, babe?" Taehyung asked and Jeongguk nearly snorted. He knew Taehyung got a lot more touchy whenever he was sleepy.

"Wanna spend the night over?" Jeongguk asked and Taehyung's brow shot up slightly.

"Really? It's fine, I can get home."

"Taehyung, you can barely keep your eyes open. Just stay the night, I'll call your dad," Jeongguk insisted and Taehyung gave in without further pursuit. Taehyung turned off the engine, got out and they both went up the elevator. Jeongguk pulled out his keys and felt two arms wrap around his waist and a heavy weight rest on his back then finally, Taehyung's chin rested on his shoulder.

"Hurry up," Taehyung whined and Jeongguk rolled his eyes.

"I'm trying you big baby," Jeongguk replied, getting the door unlocked.

"You're a baby," Taehyung retorted. Jeongguk laughed and pushed his suitcase inside first so that he could walk in with Taehyung still around him as he mumbled random words like "my pretty baby."

"God, what took you so lo–"

Taehyung and Jeongguk froze as they saw two heads pop up from the couch. Taehyung slowly let go of his hold on Jeongguk, feeling awake again as he stood up straight. They all stared at each other with the same shocked face.

"Did you know his net worth is in the millions," Sooyung whispered, intending to only tell Hoseok but it reached everyone. It was just what was needed to break the ice as they all bursted out into laughter one by one.

"Taehyung!" Hoseok called-out, a huge grin on his lips now.

"Hoseok," Taehyung said back with just as much enthusiasm as he and Jeongguk removed their shoes. Hoseok and Sooyung got off the couch and both went to give Taehyung a hug.

"Hey, don't I get a hug?" Jeongguk asked, pushing his suitcase to the side to be dealt with later.

"You went to America, not Mars," Hoseok said and Jeongguk scoffed. Sooyung chuckled and engulfed Jeongguk in another hug.

"We missed you, Gguk," Sooyung said when she pulled away. Jeongguk nodded and then eyed Hoseok with a mischievous smile. He opened his arms wide. "Come here, big boy," Jeongguk said and Hoseok began backing up. It commenced a whole chase around the house filled with Jeongguk laughing and Hoseok warning him to keep his nasty hands to himself. Taehyung and Sooyung watched with smiles on their faces.

"Hmm," Sooyung sounded, bobbing her head and crossing her arms. "Would you look at that. Our Jeonggukkie's back."

Taehyung glanced at the girl, thinking about the meaning behind her words before he finally caught it.

They stayed and ate some late night ramen while catching up with Taehyung and, of course, sucking out every single detail on how they got back together. As time kept going, Hoseok and Sooyung knew it was getting way too late and they both eventually headed home, leaving Taehyung and Jeongguk alone.

Jeongguk got Taehyung some clothes to change into and Taehyung had already called his dad earlier to tell him he'd be staying over. Jeongguk had to admit it. Taehyung looked absolutely precious in his oversized red plaid button-up pyjamas – they were one his favourites.

"Stop looking at me like that," Taehyung titled his head and teased while he sat cross-legged on the couch.

"Oh shut up," Jeongguk retorted, throwing a towel and toothbrush his way. They were felt too sluggish to go back down and get his luggage as they didn't think to bring it earlier. Taehyung managed to barely catch it and place it aside so that Jeongguk could climb into his lap. He rested his back against Taehyung who wrapped his arms around his waist.

"Isn't this nice?" Taehyung said followed by a sigh.

"What? Cuddling on my old raggedy second-hand couch?" Jeongguk joked leaning more into his touch.

"I wouldn't have cared if this was a block of wood as long you're in my arms."

Jeongguk rolled his eyes and pretended to gag even though he very much enjoyed the cheesiness of that line. He felt Taehyung begin to press little kisses down his neck. His fingers slowly moved the fabric covering Jeongguk's shoulder away so that he could continue his trail. Jeongguk shut his eyes to bask in the gentle pleasure it gave.

"You know that day you came to work with Chaeyoung?" Taehyung softly said against his skin and Jeongguk hummed as a reply.

"You're terrible at hiding your jealousy. An 'ex-boyfriend thing' I believe were you words?" Jeongguk teased.

Taehyung chuckled and nodded, his nose hitting his exposed shoulder. "Well I was trying my best, okay?"

"Don't worry. Green suits you, babe."

"Hmm, does it?" Taehyung replied, continuing to press more kisses.

"Maybe I should flirt with other guys to see that reaction again," Jeongguk said in a playful tone but hissed as he felt a sharp bite just above his collarbone. "I'm kidding," Jeongguk stretched.

"Good," Taehyung said and moved back up. He hovered his lips right against his ear. "'Cause–" he paused to nip at the corner of his ear. "You're mine," he finished, his voice deep and in a whisper.

Jeongguk felt chills run through his spine. He didn't know he could feel such a reaction to such a corny line, but here he was. Goosebumps all over his body as Taehyung returned his attention to the other side of his neck.

He let Taehyung mark him wherever he pleased. Jeongguk had to bite down hard on his bottom lip to not release any sounds. His trashy apartment came with the amazing feature of thin walls. Jeongguk didn't care if his neighbors knew he was sexually active but he just didn't want to be bothering them or putting them in uncomfortable situation but giving them an unwanted audio porno.

Once Taehyung was satisfied, he dragged a thumb over the blooming bruises. "Sorry," Taehyung murmured, not sorry at all. Jeongguk knew he'd be wearing a turtleneck to work, he just wondered for how long before his nosy co-workers started prying. Not to mention the restless hot weather.

Jeongguk turned his body around so that he faced Taehyung. "Are you tired?" he asked.

Taehyung's brows furrowed not expecting the question. "Uh, no. The nap in the car was pretty refresh–"

"Great," Jeongguk cut in and got working to un-button his shirt. Taehyung smiled, now getting the memo. Taehyung had his fun and now it was Jeongguk's turn.

"Come out!" Jeongguk yelled banging on the door, his knees wobbling to hold it in.

"Coming, coming!" Taehyung yelled back, finally opening the door, hand holding his towel around his waist together as he didn't even stop to tie it.

Jeongguk sighed as his eyes trailed over his body.
"God, if only we didn't have work," Jeongguk groaned. He pulled Taehyung by the neck and gave him a kiss, not even giving the other enough time to return the kiss as Jeongguk spun them around, pushed him back and shut the door.

That's how their morning started. They both didn't even realize they had to drive in their own cars until they came down the parking lot. The two dramatically said their goodbyes as if they wouldn't be seeing each other again shortly.

Jeongguk got to work first as Taehyung offered to buy everyone their morning coffee. He arrived soon after with everyone's drinks, extra-ice for Jeongguk as he knew he'd be sweating buckets soon which was partly his fault but also partly Jeongguk's for not washing his thin layered turtlenecks.

Everyone bombarded Jeongguk with more questions about America that he answered again until Taehyung buzzed him. "Duty calls!" Jeongguk said cheerfully as he sprung up from his seat and everyone watched him go confused, wondering if America was so great that he managed to forget his hatred for Monday mornings.

With the tablet in his hand, Jeongguk did the usual two knock and entered after the "come in". As soon Taehyung caught Jeongguk's eyes, he turned away from the computer screen. He propped his elbows on his desk, crossed his hand together and let his chin rest on it, giving Jeongguk all his attention.

"Secretary Jeon," Taehyung welcomed with a smile. Jeongguk bit his lip to hold back the grin as he walked up to his desk.

"Director Kim," Jeongguk greeted back unlocking the tablet to read out his agenda. "You have a pretty much clear schedule for the day. A reminder that your meeting with the finance department head is tomorrow. Is there anything I should add?"

Jeongguk waited for a reply but noticing it never came, he looked up from the tablet to see Taehyung staring right back at him.

"You're so pretty when you talk in your secretary voice," Taehyung commented and Jeongguk nearly choked.

"Director Kim," Jeongguk said, keeping a smile reminding them of their current setting.

"Yes?"

"Anything else to add?"

Taehyung chuckled and shook his head. Jeongguk was about to shut it off when Taehyung remembered. "Oh, actually– Did you get the email about the reunion?"

"Email? What email?" Jeongguk asked. "I haven't checked it yet."

"Well, we're having our official graduating class of 2012 reunion in three weeks," Taehyung informed him.

"Woah, really?" Jeongguk would've dreaded the very day just a week ago. In the past few years, Jeongguk always wondered if he'd meet Taehyung again that day. How he'd react. Would they talk? Would the pretend each other didn't exist? He didn't need an answer to those questions that kept him awake at night anymore.

"Mhm. It's a Saturday, I'm pretty sure. Dinner party," Taehyung added and Jeongguk nodded.

"Do you want to go? It's the day right after we get proposal results so there won't be too much work piled," Taehyung asked.

"Of course!" Jeongguk exclaimed. Taehyung nodded and saw Jeongguk's face suddenly light up as a brilliant thought just came into his head

"Hey, how about we play a prank on everyone?" Jeongguk proposed, a wicked smile forming on his lips.

"A prank?"

"Yeah! Wasn't that what our year was known for? Our dumb pranks?"

Taehyung nodded, remembering the few event that occurred in his high school life. Luckily, he was never messed with often as everyone feared the wrath of Jeongguk too much. Being the school's sunshine and all, the boy sure had a lot of fire in him.

"How about you come explain that little scheme of yours over here? Wouldn't want you legs tiring out now," Taehyung said, pushing back his chair and patting his lap twice. Jeongguk smiled and lifted a brow up. He would've crossed his arms if the tablet wasn't in his hand. Seeing that Taehyung wasn't budging, he turned around the make sure the door was shut proper and the blinds were down, which they were.

Jeongguk set the tablet down on top a pile of paper on Taehyung's desk. He walked around and plopped down on his boyfriend's lap, throwing an arm over his shoulder to keep him balanced and Taehyung held on securely to his waist.

"Well, I'm pretty sure everyone's nosy asses know that we broke up. Well, were broken up. What if we pretended to still be? I mean, as long as Hoseok and Sooyung dont tell anyone, no would know right? Wouldn't it be hilarious to put everyone in that awkward situation for a little while?" Jeongguk explained his idea.

"Yeah, hilarious," Taehyung mused back and Jeongguk pouted.

"Hey! You could've just said it's dumb," Jeongguk said as looked coward turning his head away.

"No no, it came out wrong. I think it's a great prank. My genius baby," Taehyung said, gently holding onto his chin and turning his head back in his direction. "We can even have a pretend fight," Taehyung added and Jeongguk's smile returned.

"Ooh, yes! I have to start it of course," Jeongguk continued on, creating a whole script they could use for the day while Taehyung nodded and listened with his undivided attention. That is until the three little knocks on their door interrupted them.

Jeongguk immediately pushed himself off the other instantly. They both scrambled to get back to a normal position. Jeongguk quickly walked back over to the front of the desk and grabbed the tablet. Taehyung pulled on his desk to bring his chair back in.

"Come in," Taehyung said after he cleared his throat. Jin came in with a folder in his hand and walked over without suspecting anything.

"The portfolio you requested, Director Kim," Jin said handing over the folder. Taehyung thanked the man and opened the folder to get a look while Jin stood there to know if everything looked alright.

"I'll be out," Jeongguk said and bowed. Taehyung nodded and stole a quick glance. The two shared a short smile before Jeongguk spun on his heel and made his way out, the smile getting wider.

KTH

High School - First Year

"Mornin', Taehyungie," Jeongguk said followed by a yawn then put his head back down. Taehyung wondered how the boy knew he was coming in when he wasn't even looking up and his sweater hoodie covered all his vision.

"Good morning," Taehyung replied and took off his bag to put around his desk chair. He sat down on his seat and took another peek at Jeongguk, disappointed at the boy for probably staying up late and playing video games.

He went to pull out his notebook went he felt something slimy and moving touch his hand, making him let out a loud shriek and hit his hand hard against the top of the inner desk. Jeongguk's head snapped up, alarmed.

Taehyung sighed as his classmates began laughing knowing he was just the next victim on their class list for pranks. They were getting everyone and Taehyung knew it was coming sooner or later.

"Are you okay?" Jeongguk yelled watching the way Taehyung clutched onto the hand that got hurt.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Taehyung said honestly. It was just his heart rate that wouldn't calm down. He was never good with slimy creatures or unexpected scares.

Jeongguk took off his hoodie and leaned down to get a good look inside his desk. He pulled out the rubber snake coated in probably glue.

"Ha ha, very funny guys. So who's brilliant idea was this?" Jeongguk asked, holding the snake up high and getting up from his desk. Everyone just snickered and looked at each other, trying to play mind games.

"Jeongguk, it's okay," Taehyung tried to whisper.

"I said who's idea was this?" his voice much louder than before, shutting everyone up as he claimed the snake on his desk.

"Me, Jeon," Sunsook said, raising his hand with a proud smile.

"Min Sunsook!" Jeongguk yelled and the smile dropped from the boy's face. Jeongguk raised his hand and motioned him over.

"Jeongguk," Taehyung tried again even though he kind of wanted to see how it would play out. Riled up Jeongguk was a very rare sight.

"C'mere," Jeongguk said, still waving his hand. Sunsook stood and made his way over, trying to put on a brave act.

"What, Jeongguk?" he asked, adding a chuckle and giving a nod over at his friends who knew the boy had it coming but still shot him up fake thumbs up.

Jeongguk smiled. The same sly smile everyone sees before they regret not leaving sooner. Jeongguk began to lower his arm but stopped midway. In a swift movement, his grabbed onto the skin on Sunsook's exposed arm and twisted it as hard as he could.

"Ah! Jeon Jeong– AH!" the boy yelped, trying the swat his arm away. Everyone rolled their eyes and laughed as they expected something like it to happen. Everyone knew they shouldn't try to trigger, especially when it came to Taehyung – well, everyone except Taehyung. Jeongguk let go of his hand not wanting him to bruise.

"Crazy bitch," Sunsook muttered walking away and rubbing his arm.

"What'd do you say?" Jeongguk yelled and Sunsook shook his head vigourously. Jeongguk couldn't help but release a laugh looking at Sunsook, who also couldn't hold in his. He tossed the rubber snake back at him and he managed to barely catch it. They were friends. Jeongguk was friends with everyone.

"Is your hand okay?" Jeongguk turned back to Taehyung and asked in a soft voice.

"Mhm," Taehyung hummed back and the class oo-ed.

Jeongguk shot a glare at his classmates and they all piped down and went back to whatever they were doing. He sat back down on his seat and he realized something. "Ah shoot, did I embarrass you?"

Taehyung probably should've been embarrassed but he wasn't. He was more glad to have a friend that would stand up for him for anything — even a rubber snake.

"No, don't worry, you didn't. Thank you," Taehyung said, a smile forming to his lips. Jeongguk bit his bottom lip and nodded, and Taehyung could swear he saw the tinge of red on his cheeks.

It's safe to say, no one messed with him after that day. Well, except for Jeongguk of course even if his pranks mainly consisted of somehow poking or pinching Taehyung's cheeks in the end.
