Blake

It's been a week since I talked to Evelyn I'm a bit busy with my basketball practice.  It's really hectic because she won't talk to me and ignored me whenever I talked to her at class or canteen and my schedule is busy with practice,I spent more time on grounds. We're having a tournament with Westlake school tomorrow and our coach is making us restless with practice... Lately Duke and James are talking with our group as we're in game. He didn't asked or talked anything about me and Evelyn's relationship. I'm glad he didn't.......

As its already 7 we're leaving home and I changed into my clothes. I walked towards my bike, I spotted Duke and james leaving too.

"Hey Duke" I yelled. He turned around and waited for me to approach. I jogged towards them and slinging my bag on shoulder "How's Evelyn?"  I asked directly.

"She's good.. Yea... " he replied nodding at me.

"Will she come tomorrow to see the game?" 

"I don't think so... " he frowned at me shaking his head in negative

"Why are you asking that?"  James asked raising a brow at me.

"Nothing... I'm worried about her. Can you guys bring her tomorrow with C&J?" I asked shuffling on my feet.

"We'll try" they said in unison.

"No! You've to bring her.. Please this is important to me" I pleaded sincerely. They both stood there gazing at me with their calculated eyes.

They shared at look and turned to me nodding simultaneously. I smiled "Thank you. See you tomorrow"  they went to their car and left the campus. I went to my house....

Taking a shower and eating dinner I ran to my room and slumped on bed. I grabbed the bracelet which I've brought two days ago for Evelyn... Its beautiful gold one with cream color stones on it.... I decided to ask her tomorrow. I'm ready with whatever answer she'd give..with that thought I switched off the lights and went into deep slumber.

"All the best big brother" Patrick gave me a kiss on cheek. I thanked him and turned to Tatiana "Best of luck with your game"  she gave me a hug and I drove to school.

Parking my car I got down grabbing my bag from passenger seat. I saw students strolling here and there, some from my school and others from Westlake. Walking towards Changing room I saw Jared flirting with a girl from our school... I narrowed my eyes at him. He smirked and went back to what he's doing....

"You came already!" I heard Harry's voice from behind. I saw him approaching with Noah, Nate. Nate patted my back "How are you man?" 

"Good" I replied glaring towards Jared.

"He's playing with us today!" Noah announced to which I whipped my head to him.

"What?" I asked in disbelief.

"Yes.. I saw the list of players from notice board" he said nodding at me.

"We've to win today!" I said with determination.

"Yeah... " we high fived and left to changing room.

I changed and so my fellow players, we heard announcement saying that game will be begin in 20 minutes. Duke and James came together and I saw Evelyn with C&J waiting for them outside.... I walked to them. As soon as she saw me coming she tried to walk away but I caught her wrist. C&J left giving us mischievous smiles.

"What?" She asked glaring at me.

"I didn't noticed before you look hot when you're angry!" I stated. It brought her attention and she stared right into my eyes.

"Are you still mad at me?" I asked bringing her close to my body.

"Yes" she replied keeping her eyes away from mine.

"Hey what are you doing with her?" James asked. Her friends followed him.

"Evelyn, we're going" Duke announced.

"Yeah.... " she started wiggling in my arms but I tightened my grip. She gave me glare but that doesn't made me to release her. She stopped and turned towards them in my arms" All the best guys. Play safe" she smiled and shook their hands.

They chuckled seeing us and went to courtyard with C&J. I glanced at her and she's staring at me "Won't you go with them? The game starts in 10 minutes"  she said placing her hands on my chest.

"Blake, come on" we heard Nate shouting.

"Okay. Give me a kiss then I'll leave" she gave me a disbelief look and shook her head.

"Atleast wish me luck baby" I said hoping she'll wish me like she did to her friends.

"Best of luck" she gave me a smile which reached her eyes. It's enough for me to win this game, I pecked her cheek and ran towards my group.

Welcome to High school basketball tournament 2k17

As we all know that only two teams will be going to finals.. As you can see the two schools are Westwoods and Westlake

The players are looking so confident and in full of energy

Let's see who will win the championship title

The players from both teams gather around the court

The game will set for 20 minutes and for each goal you'll get 3 points. At the end of the game the team who earned more points will win.

Duke, Harry, Noah, Derek and me were on the court while others were substitutions. I saw Jared is on the court too with four other boys. I eyed around and saw Evelyn sitting with her friends and Flora joined them. They waved at us... The cheerleaders too.

I glanced around the stadium and caught sight of my father who's watching the court with his calculating eyes. As soon as he caught my stare he nodded at me and I reponded with a smile... He sat with other faculty on stage and was talking with Westlake principal.

Coach came and stood in between us holding the basketball.. He said some rules to which we nodded and then he threw the ball up and the whistle went on announcing us to start the game. Duke grabbed the ball and turned around dribbling for awhile... Derek is behind him and I ran after them he passed the ball to me. I dribbled it while dunking from Jared and red haired boy who's trying hard to steal the ball. But then I dunked and dribbling scored a point. I underestimated the westlake but they are very good and scoring the points like us.

After sometime Nate took my position and I sat for awhile. My friends lost a point as the played the foul.... I wiped my sweat and stood there watching the game keenly. They're in leading with 6 points, Duke dropped and James took his position. We sat beside each other.

"They're very good man. I guess we'll lose" He muttered while sipping water.

"No.. We can win if we lead them to foul"

After announcing a small break I discussed with Nate and Harry how to get points and we went to court. I snatched the ball from the guy and passed it to Noah who again passed it to Nate and then to me. I ran fast while dribbling and dunking I scored a point.... We saw there's still 3 minutes left and now we have to score a point to cross them. I guess it'll be the last ride, and then the opponent snatched the ball from me and ran towards our goal net. Derek being fast he snatched it and passed to James and harry who scored the point.

We jumped and high fived hugging each other....

The winner of the high school basketball tournament is Westwoods! 

The crowd around us cheered and clapped together... I saw my father grinning shaking hands with Westlake school princy. Duke came hugging me and followed by James,Noah,Harry,Nate and Derek.

"Well played guys " we said to each other and then they announced my father to give a speech.

He talked for awhile and then the coaches from each school gathered and they took the cup. One by one we're called up onto stage and handed the awards... We got money and cup for school announcing us championship 2k17.

Soon the crowd started to disperse, I sent Noah to fetch the bracelet I bought for Evelyn. He came and handed it to me....I walked where the girls were sitting at grandstands in stadium, I grabbed Evelyn's hand and helped her to walk down the middle of the courtyard.

Students stopped walking and were now staring at us in confusion some were watching us in awe.... "Blake, what are you doing?"  Evelyn asked trying hard to get her hand out from my grip.

My heart started beating fast and the hall went pin drop silent... Even my father and other faculty were watching us in confusion. But I ignored them and turned to face her... She's staring at me with blue big eyes.

I fished out the bracelet from my pocket, putting it on to her left wrist I got on my knee "Will you...."
