Evelyn

"Evelyn, are you sure?" Duke asked while keeping his eyes on road.

"What about?" I asked unsure of what he's talking about

"Why it seems to me that you're hiding something from us?" my eyes went wide in alarm and I quickly let a humorless chuckle to which he gave me a pointed look.

"Why do you think like that Duke?" I asked blinking at him.

"You're not coming with me to school daily and not hanging out with us usually and also you're leaving without saying a word. What the hell is going on?"

"You know I'm coming with Catherine and...... "

" Don't lie Eve. I knew that you're not coming with cathy because I asked her the other day she said no. So don't even think about lying to me again!" he yelled at me. 

I know it's been two weeks since I got into this deal with Blake. He's so sweet, taking me to school and also we're going out frequently with my mom's permission and I felt bad for hiding this from my friends.. Duke will go crazy if he knows about it.

"Are you listening to me?" Duke asked glancing at me sideways.

"Umm. Yea... There's nothing Duke. I'll tell you if I got any problem right?"

"Okay... If I get to know something fishy again I'll not let you alone in campus!"

"Okay" I nodded.

Seems like I've to stop hanging out with Blake for a few days.

We reached school and walked to our lockers, I met my girls cathy and julia. Duke met James and said something to which his face went hard and clenched his jaw, they turned around and caught me staring at them. I hlanced away and walked to class with C and J.

Definitely Duke told James something about me!

I sat in my usual seat and turned around, I saw Blake talking with Nate and Harry. He saw me and gave a smile, I forced a smile which he didn't buy before my friends can caught us I turned to front. My friends came and sat behind me, James and Duke behind while C and J beside me both sides.

Won't they leave me alone?

I let out a sigh and saw Mr Marcus coming into classroom. I took my books out and drew doodles on it while trying to listen to class.

After the class Duke and others left quickly and I purposely stood back to avoid them while slowly packing my bag. Someone poked on my left cheek and I lifted my head and saw Blake standing in front of me with worry itched on his face.

"What happened to you today?" he whispered placing his arms on my shoulder trapping me. I glanced around and saw there's no one in class except us. I smiled weakly at him and pinched his right cheek.

"Nothing. Come let's go otherwise we'll late for class"

"I'm having elective and also I wanted you to sit with us at lunch today" he stated.

"No Blake.. I can't" I replied remembering my conversation with Duke today morning.

"I won't take no for answer, you'll be there at our table. Bye. See you at lunch" he said walking to his next class. I went to my biology and saw Rick there....

Ughh... Why don't this day end yet!?

I'm with Rick in this class project. It's good between us a few days ago but not now because he's giving me a cold shoulder and I doubt how'd this project ends up.

"So I guess we've to search for our topic" Zion said as soon as we sat in group. After discussing for about thirty minutes we finally decided on a topic.

"The effect of caffeine on growth of plants.. It's decided then" a girl named sara said.

I nodded and glanced at boys "Okay"  zion replied and Rick just nodded.

"You guys can come to my home this Saturday. So that we can finish" she said cheerly. I took her number and soon the class ended.

I went to cafeteria before my friends because I'm sitting with Blake and that I don't want to answer their questions I decided to let them burst out once after school... So taking my food tray I went to Blake's table and sat beside him.

He gave me a sweet smile and kissed on my cheek making me still. I glanced around if anyone saw us, luckily all are busy with their food.

"What are you doing at our table?" Flora asked across me.

"Shouldn't I join you guys?" I asked innocently.

"Did you sit here as Harry's friend or Blake's...... " she trailed making me to hide my face in embrassment.

" Stop teasing her!" I heard Blake's voice beside me.

"Sure  bossy Captain" Flora giggled and glanced at Nate who gave her juice bottle. She thanked him by kissing his cheek.

"So what's up with you two?" Harry asked.

"What?" Blake asked.

"What you decided with your secret relationship?" I felt uncomfortable at his questions because even I'm confused with it.

Blake didn't said that we're in actual relation as Nate and Flora. Cut it... I don't even know if he likes me or not. Then how can I name this relationship between us? 

I glanced at Blake and he's already staring down at me with unsure settled in his eyes... Seeing us Nate broke the silence

"Harry, that's none of your business!"

"Yea... Zipping my mouth" Harry said and we went back to eating.

I saw my friends already took table and were glaring at me... I guess I've some explanation to do after this.

I shrugged and ate my food. "Hmm.. Evelyn. I want to invite you to my beachhouse next week"  Noah said

"Umm... Is Catherine coming too?"

"She doesn't like to hang out with my friends but I'll ask her" I smiled and glanced at Blake.

"You're coming whether your friends are going to be there or not!" he whispered to me. I rolled my eyes and soon the bell rang indicating us to go to class.

I walked to class with Blake and his friends. I entered and sat in my usual seat, my friends came but they didn't talk to me not even Duke. Let it be... I'm too weak to go and talk to them and also I'm not in mood.

The evening came and I walked to parking lot and saw my friends are ready to drive.. Duke also approaching his car. I ran and grabbed his arm.

It's time to tell them! 

"Wait. I want to talk to you" He turned around and I saw C and J, james coming towards us.

The next twenty minutes I explained them everything from where I lost Susan's letter upto today's lunch and our deal too. Duke continously clenched his jaw and fist while I'm talking about Blake.

"Why did you hide this from us?" Julia asked. Catherine and she exchanged a glance and stood there for my answer.

"I know you guys will not take this as good as I want it. I just am scared to reveal this.... " I said fiddling with my chain.

" It's your choice to date someone Eve... We can't stop you. I hope you'll be happy with him" Julia said giving me a smile.

"Yes.. She's right. I'm happy that at last you're with him, your crush" Cathy said fidgeting with her fingers.

"He didn't say he's in serious relation with her.. We can't trust him guys" James said giving us a look.

"Do you trust him Eve?" he asked looking at me. I nodded lightly and heard a growl from Duke.

"Say something Duke" cathy shook his arm.

"I hope she'll not regret this later!" he said looking at me and left in his car.

I started crying seeing my best friend leaving me alone to go through this.... C and J hugged me and soon they left as I told them that Blake would send me home.

"Did you cry?" He asked as soon as he saw me.

"No.. I didn't"

"What's Duke's reaction when you told about us?"

"He's gone crazy and stopped talking to me. What would I tell my friends if I don't know about our relationship status?" he shut his mouth.

"Let's get you home!" he said and started ignition. We drove to my home.

"I'm not in mood for your tutor. Bye" I said turning around to leave.

"Hey... Where are you going?" He asked grabbing my wrist.

"Not today Blake. Please.... " my tears were threatening to fall down my face. I just wanted to cry my heart out alone in my room.

He hugged me tightly and its enough for my tears to go down and soak his shirt.

"Hey... He's your best friend. He can understand you Evelyn, trust me" 

"Really? Will he talk with me again?" I asked breathing heavily.

He pulled away and cupped my face "I'm happy that you got a protective best friend. He cares for you and he's just scared that you'd end up with heartbroken that's the reason he's behaving like this"  he said wiping my tears with his thumbs.

"I'll handle this matter and don't think more. Go and sleep. Okay!" he shooed me. I shook my head "Come with me. I don't want to be alone"  I said dragging him into home.

"I'm hungry" I stated slumping on couch.

Blake went into kitchen and prepared some sandwiches. My mood went somewhat better after eating them and we watched a Harry Potter film.

It's boring and yet painful day for me, I haven't talked with Duke nicely not even once. I'll go talk to him tomorrow and if he don't want to talk with me I'll kick his ass and make sure to get him back.

Thinking this I don't know when I slept on his shoulder.

It's a boring chapter I know.... I can't help it!  Because I just want to let you guys know what's Evelyn's problem in their relationship!

It's quite obvious that she's not liking it to be in an unknown relation with Blake.... And also why Blake's still avoiding his feelings towards Evelyn?  Is there a reason?
