Day 1 Tuesday, January 30, 2018

My heart never beat.

From birth until tonight, I never felt blood's heat course through my veins. I had been a ghost walking the Earth, alone and asleep. I remember nothing that happened in my life.

She woke me up.

Above, a Jacuzzi spit a color-changing waterfall. The water was hot and it shot a mist of heated vapor toward the moon and the stars.

The water glistened over her shoulders, turning to dots on her skin. Her shoulders acquired the perfect dimples when her arms came closer and wrapped around me.

My face pressed against her warm neck. I enjoyed the smell of coconut butter in her hair, the same smell that reminded me of the showers we shared. Her skin pulsed and it summoned my lips, demanded my lips.

I kissed that neck underneath the wet folds of her hair that glistened from the beaming lights. Under the moonlight my lips traveled in the dark over the fine arteries traveling under her skin, and I felt the rumbles firsthand of that gentle moan. That moan that escaped her went out like a match.

I sucked her in. The deserts of her skin that the chlorine purifiers dried pulled up like a sandstorm as I inhaled. I sucked her in like smoke out of a cigarette. Her addiction hooked me.

Her embrace followed while I carried her through the water. The ripples cascaded around our bodies.

Like fine words, our bodily collection wrote obvious truths. Young love exists, but maturity releases young love for something stronger.

Our kisses dried when summer died.
