Chapter One.

Feeling really exhausted I slump into a chair waiting to get released after my shift. Best feeling ever, having to slouch and not care who is looking. Its 20:00 and all i want to do is get home. The soft music playing relaxes me as i hum to its melody. As I start to get impatient I see my lazy excuse of a boss dragging his feet towards me.

"I hope I didn't keep you too long Allison?" he asks.

Of course you did . I mock internally but only manage to say, "Nope, not at all Grey."

I still hadn't figured out how he embraced his old age by taking up the name Grey. I really doubt I even know his actual name.

"Good, now run along before your mother comes looking for you," he tries to joke and i put on a small smile. I for a fact know that no one would be looking for me. Especially not her. Not after everything.

I head out of the art gallery not wanting to stay any longer. Its a short walk to my apartment so I walk hastily. I get there in like 10 and throw my shoes away, wanting to just kick my feet up and watch movies on my Mac.

"Allie..." i hear from the door. My roommate of course.

It obviously wouldn't be anyone else since she is the only friend I've managed to make, being the quiet weird person I am. Probably because I did need a roommate but that's besides the point. She is really amazing and I have grown so fond of her.

"Hey..!" I smile

"I've had such a long ass day I honestly need a drink," She complains after sitting next to me. I rub her arm slightly.

"C'mon Hann, I'm sure it wasn't that bad. I mean its kinda better being at college than smiling stupidly at total strangers," I giggle seeing the look on her face.

"I'm sure you do enjoy it. I wish i were you right now." Hannah says and immediately takes it back, "I mean, not that your situation is easy but..."

"Its okay Hannah I know you didn't mean it that way."

My mind starts to wander and I immediately trail off into my thoughts. I don't regret moving to Henderson. Leaving my past behind was all I needed. Even when I knew that my mom would fuss. She didn't care though, not for me and not even for anyone else besides herself. That's how I ended up getting a well-wisher,distant relative, to pay for my Freshman year after doing so well in high school. Now I had to call off my Sophomore year so that I could work and probably get through college, because my supposed mother would only pay my college tuition if I stayed  home. Just so I wouldn't get away from her. Sucks...I know.
Keeping up with the variety of step-dads I got was something I couldn't do anymore. So I chose my way of doing things. Thats how I ended up with Hannah as my roommate. But I would rather be here than home.

"Helloooo...earth to Allison," Hannah snaps her fingers in my face. "You sure do look like you could use that drink more than I do. So we should totally go out. "

"I can't Hann..you know that I.."

"No buts Sugar. I got you," she says getting up and leaving me laughing.

"Sugar?"  Its just too funny. No one ever called me that.

"Oh shut up bitch..!" she says in a playful tone and we both laugh.

We try on several dresses before I settle on a not so little black dress that Hannah picked out for me from her wardrobe. It took her about fifteen minutes to convince me to wear it.
I watch her put on heavy makeup shaking my head because it takes almost forever. I am really just a foundation person and nude lipstick is what I normally go for.

"We'll meet Nate there, " Hannah chirps after hanging up.

"I am finally going to meet lover boy." I emphasize. "Three weeks of hearing about him is just enough to make me look forward to this."

"Hah.. He's just a normal guy. " she giggles as she locks the door.

23:04.
We get to the club and I already feel awkward, looking around at everyone. Hannah is so used to coming here, which explains why she's waving at the bartender. We  make our way to the VIP lounge with Hannah tagging me behind her. I am hesitant because I really don't think we belong in that section of the club, at least I don't.

"Hey! " Hannah excitedly hugs a guy, who I already assume is Nate. She turns to me, "This is my roommate Allie, " she gives a brief introduction.
I go for a handshake with my already sweaty palms but he pulls me to hug. Weird.

"She's as pretty as you said, " he looks at me with a side smile and continues "But you know you are the prettiest girl here, " he now looks at Hannah and I smile uncomfortably.

We sit and I let them catch up. I look around noticing how men have almost naked girls straddling them. Hannah is on Nate's lap whispering God knows what to him but all he does is stare at me. It gives me time to notice how slightly older he looks. I clearly thought he was in college with Hannah or something.

"Allie I'm sorry we're making you feel left out, " Hannah says noticing how bored I look. But at least I could see our drinks being brought.

"No I'm okay really Hann," I lie.
They scoot closer to me to make conversation.

"So, Nate what do you do? Cause I thought you were in college too," I manage to ask.

He chuckles,"I just do business. "

"What kind..? " I am trying to keep a meaningful conversation to avoid feeling awkward.

"It's a lot. Trust me. So business is one word for it, " he finishes while boring his eyes on me.

Hannah looks like she's having a good time watching us struggle to keep a conversation. Then she asks to go to the bathroom and I follow closely behind knowing that it's a fake trip there just so we could talk about Nate.

"So what do you think? "she shrieks once we're inside.

"He's cool I guess, " I answer not looking at her.

"cool? " she stares me down.

"No I mean he kinda looks mature.. A little older than us.. I don't know, are you sure? " I stutter

"Well I am tired of fuckboys you know. I want a mature guy and he's the one I want, " she places her hand on her chest.

"I know..but aren't you going too fast with him? I mean you barely know each other.." I barely finish and she holds her finger up.

"I know that he's good in bed! " she whispers winking and I can't help but flush from those words.

"Oh God.." I roll my eyes and she laughs so hard. I realise she's serious because the just kidding part never followed. Now she's staring at herself in the mirror making sure her makeup and body look fine.

We return to our spot and he's talking to some guys dressed in black. He immediately dismisses them smiling softly at us.

He notices my puzzled face and says,"Bodyguards"
What?
Why does he need bodyguards? Before I know it Hannah is back on his laps. He touches her exposed thighs while I adjust on my seat uncomfortably.

"Babe, I have something I need to take care of, " he tells Hannah while caressing her thighs even more now.

"What? No. We just got here you can't leave, " she pouts.

"I am leaving, but I didn't say I was leaving you behind, you have to come with me," he grins at her and pecks her cheek. Great now I'll just be alone in this boring club. I down my Daiquiri in frustration.

I notice how Hannah looks at me.
"Go Hann. It's okay I'll be fine," I smile trying to convince her.

"You can come too Allison, I don't wanna have to ruin your night, " he looks me dead in the eye.

"No, you really don't have to tag me along. I mean, this third wheeling thing, "I laugh slightly.

"C'mon Allie pretty pleeeeeaaaassseee.? " Hannah bats her eyelashes trying to be persuasive.
I curse under my breath debating on what to do.

"It'll be fun trust me, " she pushes even more.

"Well okay." I agree without even asking where we'd be going.

"Yay! You're the best! " Hannah is now on her feet pulling me up to herself for bone-breaking hug.

We leave and all I could think of was those men following us in the name of protection. From what?
A black BMW X7 is waiting right outside the club. Being a bit tipsy makes me stumble on my own feet.
After a short drive we get to an open field and I really see nothing but a chopper. The hell is this guy? This night just keeps getting interesting. From walking around with people following us to a possible chopper ride. Not bad. Not bad at all.

"Where exactly are we going? " I finally ask before I could think of getting onto the chopper.
Nate just keeps quiet paying attention to Hannah who is a bit more excited than I am. I just follow them closely smiling foolishly. Alcohol.

Once we take off Nate turns to us and says, "We're going home. New Orleans. " he says looking smug especially at my blank expression. I can't comprehend the feeling inside. My stomach churns furiously. I'm sure he must think I am excited.

FUCK ME! That's all I can think.
