1. Moriyama Yoshitaka: Not 'The One' PART TWO FINAL

"(Y/N)-chan, you never told me what you were doing after high school. You didn't tell me you were moving or where you were even moving to. Hori-chan says hi. She's being interviewed by universities to have her join them and I have nothing to do since I was already accepted. Maybe we can meet up later, yeah? Call me back, (Y/N)-chan."

"Are you okay, (Y/N)-chan? You haven't replied to me at all since we graduated. Did I do something wrong? I feel lonely without seeing you every day. I hope you're doing well and that this isn't someone else's phone number. How bad would that be? Well, if this is you, call me back, (Y/N)-chan."

"I ran into Nanase-san today and asked her about you. How come you'll go to parties with her when you won't even let me see you passing in public? You're being selfish and cruel. How could you leave your best friend like this? Call me back so we can talk about this, (Y/N)."

"I doubt this is even your phone, (Y/N)-chan, but I miss you... I've been alone for a while. Hori-chan is studying in England so we broke up so she could focus more. I'm lonely. My other friends don't understand.... I need my best friend, (Y/N)-chan... I need you. Please, please call me back... please."

END OF VOICEMAILS

It was sad how you kept Moriyama's old messages. When you lied awake at night you would reminisce all of your favorite memories with him and hold the tears in your eyes so you wouldn't have a fit. You've gotten pretty good at that.

Your heart couldn't bare being around Moriyama and Kida so you disappeared without a trace from their lives. You were shocked when Moriyama spammed every social media account, your phone, and even your email. It killed you to see him so sad, but you were sure he would get over it. After all, a person as amazing of him could easily replace someone like you.

He did it with Kida, didn't he?

You wanted to slap yourself at your lie. He didn't replace you. You two were never like that, even if you desperately wanted to be. Moriyama grew up before you and found the love of his life while you brokenly watched from afar. You couldn't get over him so you tried to just forget him.

You couldn't.

Life became a mindless blur as you blindly tagged along with your friends wherever they went and did whatever they did. You lived in a small, homey apartment on the good side of town and you were blessed to not have any horrible troubles. Your life was normal.

How boring.

You were on your way to the market on the opposite side of town because the owners of the small store owned by an elderly by your house were closed since they were on vacation. The market was always filled with people so you tried to avoid it as much as you could and this was your first time going there alone. You were bracing yourself to dive into the crowd when you heard an awfully familiar shout.

"Moriyama-senpai, isn't that (L/N)-senpai?" The tall, blonde model asked loudly.

You froze and looked over to the group of tall men standing not too far away from you. They all stared back except one, the man that you've been trying to forget since you left him five years ago. As he started to turn you broke off into a run, barely hearing him call your name before you were enveloped in the roar of the crowd.

You stepped into a human body jungle full of roars and hisses. It was like you were a fish trying to swim upstream as the crowd moved together, forcing you to weave between the narrow openings. You were constantly shoved but you didn't care as long as you got away from the basketball player screaming your name behind you.

"(Y/N)-CHAN! (Y/N)-CHAN! PLEASE, STOP!"

Every cry of his seemed to kick you in the gut. You stumbled as you dove into an empty tent and hid behind the counter. Pressing yourself against it, you heard him as he ran in panting and gulped as you heard him moving around.

"(Y/N)-chan, please come out. I need to talk to you." He pleaded. He started opening and shutting drawers, his voice close to crying as he continued. "I don't know what I did. Please talk to me." His voice broke and he let out a sob. "(Y/N)-chan, I need you!"

Your throat constricted and you quickly wiped at the boiling tears spilling over your cheeks. What were you supposed to do? You could sit here and listen to him cry, or you could stand up and reveal yourself. What then? You were selfish; you couldn't explain yourself. He would never forgive you for what you did. You couldn't forgive yourself.

You gasped as you were tackled and two strong arms crushed you against a shaking body. "(Y/N)-cha-a-a-an," he sobbed into your shoulder. "I-I, y-y-you, I-" He couldn't process any words and clung onto you tighter like how a kid would clutch onto their teddy bear after a nightmare.

Guilt ate you alive and you leaned into his embrace and closed your eyes. "Yoshi-kun, you don't have to say anything."

The 23 year-old nodded and continued to cry. It wasn't too long before you joined him.

*\(^o^)/*

It turned out Moriyama lived right beside the market in an apartment much larger and nicer than yours full of basketball and school items. You sat silently on the couch as he prepared tea and tried to fix your messy appearance with the camera in your phone. China clinked against china and you stiffened.

It was time to tell him the truth.

Moriyama set the tray of tea on the table and sat next to you. You watched as he poured tea into your cup, the sound of the trickling liquid setting you more at ease. Muttering your thanks, you blew on the steaming brew and took a small sip then set it back on the table with an emotionless expression. Moriyama did the same and turned so he was fully facing you.

"What have you been doing, (Y/N)-chan?" He asked politely.

You wanted to scream at him, WHY ARE YOU BEING SO NICE? I'M A TERRIBLE PERSON, YOU SHOULD'VE PUNCHED ME WHEN YOU FIRST SAW ME. "Nothing, really. I've been studying to become a (D/J). What about you?"

"Mostly basketball," he replied.

Both of you drank more of your tea during the awkward silence. The air was growing thicker and you decided that it was your responsibility to try to fix the broken bridge you destroyed years before.

"I'm sorry for not talking to you, Yoshi-kun. I was in a dark place and I didn't want it to affect you." You explained. Every word seemed to lift a weight off of your shoulders and you continued, not daring to look at his face. "I knew you were busy with Hori-chan and I didn't want to disturb you with my troubles. I was selfish and rude and I knew I should've explained, but I was too scared to tell you the truth."

Moriyama leaned forwards with a concerned expression. He pulled you towards him so he was holding you in a loose hug and tilted your chin up so you would look him in the eyes. "(Y/N)-chan, you're not a burden. You can tell me anything. Please, tell me what was wrong so I can try to help you with it."

"Do you remember that confession you thought I practiced with you in our last year of high school?" You questioned quietly. Your cheeks started to heat up and you dug your fingernails into the sofa's cushion.

Gah, here you were again acting like a school girl!

He furrowed his eyebrows in thought. "Your confession to Sugawara-kun?"

You nodded and chose to stare at your hands instead of his eyes. "Yeah, that one. Well, it wasn't for him." Taking a deep breath, you met his confused gaze and gulped. "Yoshi-kun, I was, God, I still am, in love with you."

Silence was a funny thing. It was amazing how emptiness could fill a room and smother those in it under its suffocating blanket. Moriyama's eyes were as wide as the moon as his mouth opened and shut like a fish out of water. You tried to calm your racing heart and the blush in your cheeks, fighting the urge to run out of the room screaming apologies.

"So, um, this is awkward, I should go." You mumbled.

You turned your head away from him and awkwardly stood up and tried to walk away, but his foot kicked your ankle and you fell into his chest with a squeak. He picked you up and your face burned as you gaped at him above you. Pinned down to the couch, he held tightly onto you and kept a serious, albeit hot pink, face.

"Don't go," he whispered. "If you leave me now, you'll never come back."

You didn't know what to say and simply stared back at him. He hesitated before gently cupping your cheek and pressing his lips against yours. You shut your eyes and kissed him back, your hands finding their way to his shirt so you were pulling him closer. What started as gentle kissing quickly became heated touches and heavy breaths.

Hours later you found yourself lying beside him under his thick duvet as he ran his fingers through your hair. You turned on your side and bit on the inside of your cheek.

"What does this make us, Yoshi-kun?" You timidly asked, drawing shapes on the bed to spare yourself the humility of seeing his sympathy as he told you the awful truth.

Moriyama chuckled and crushed you against his chest, causing you to feel his chest shake as he laughed. "We're boyfriend and girlfriend, aren't we?"

"Really?" You gasped, not believing your ears.

"You're cute, (Y/N)-chan," he laughed again and kissed your forehead. "Things aren't perfect right now, but if we stay side by side, we can make everything better."

Since I got so many comments asking for a part two, I finally decided to write it. 'Not the One' was supposed to be a complete angst, but you guys made me feel guilty for making you sad ToT

I've been having exams since last Friday and my last exams are on this Thursday. So far I've done pretty well, I think. I got a 105 on my Spanish exam, for my journalism exam my articles were written the best I could write them, and for my honors literature exam the essay I wrote was exemplary.

Speaking of my lit exam, have any of you guys read "The Bet" by Anton Chekhov? It's a short story less than 3,000 words long about a banker and a lawyer wagering fifteen years of their life for two million dollars. I think it's interesting, well, at least for school ^^;

If you guys already had your exams, I hope you did your best ^u^

If you're having your exams like me, let's try our hardest to get an A ^o^

If you're getting ready for exams, study your adorable toosh off ^.^

Lots of love, Cora-chan <3
