1. Male!Momoi Satsuki: Bridges PART ONE
The air was tense and silent, preening eyes watching the two at the front of the class. You glanced down at your slightly crinkled script, already knowing by heart what was coming next. The flamboyant pink-haired in front of you knew that, too.
"Raku-kun, you shouldn't say such things. You know the consequences your actions will cause." You read aloud. You remained true to your inner actress and made your voice wobble and face fall. Turning away, you pretended to choke back a sob and held your hands to your chest. "I think it's best if we stop seeing each other. I would never forgive myself if you were hurt by my father."
The pinkette grabbed you by the shoulders and spun you around, embracing you in a hug. "Don't worry about me, Yui-chan. I'll be fine. You already know nothing can take me down."
"There's a terrible difference between a school bully and a man with a gun!" You cried. Moisture began to gather in your eyes and you hung your head and whimpered. "Please just stop this, Raku-kun. I'm begging you."
He tilted your chin up and smiled sadly. "I could never stop loving you."
You hesitated on your next line for a fraction of a second and grinned back at him. "I love you, too."
"CUT!" The director of the play, Kashima Midorin, yelled. He tossed his scarf onto the chair and stalked over to the two of you with complete and utterly disgusted expression. "Momoi-kun, (L/N)-chan, I expected more of you. You two are the best of our school's theater yet you act like middle school beginners."
You sweatdropped and took Momoi's hands off of you and walked over to Kashima with a matching frown. "I'm best at tragedies and Momoi-kun's specialty is comedy. What made you think that we would be the perfect fit for the lead roles of a dramatic romance?"
Kashima wrapped his arm around you and held his hand out, staring into the distance as an unseen vision danced in his eyes. "You need to expand your horizons! I'm trying to help you, too. Imagine yourself accepting your awards in front of millions of viewers with everyone chanting '(L/N)-chan! (L/N)-chan!'" He snapped out of it and glared at you. "That's why you need to ace this scene."
"Why are you picking on me?" You cried, pulling away from him. You stuck your hand out at your partner and gave Kashima an incredulous look. "There's another person here, Kashima-kun."
"Momoi-kun doesn't look like he's contemplating on suicide when confessing his love." He sassily retorted. He shoved the script into your hands and rolled his eyes. "Keep on practicing. You can barely say 'I love you' and there's still the kissing scene to go over."
"THE WHAT?!" You shrieked, all color leaving your being and your soul floating out of your head.
"Haven't you read the script all the way, (Y/N)-chan?" Momoi cooed. He bent down to your level and smirked. "The scene after that we kiss, we kiss at the party, and then it's the cue for the ending of the play."
"Kashima-kun, please let my understudy take my place." You pleaded. You fell to your knees and took his hands in yours, already working up your best tears to aid your saddened features. "Please, I'm begging you."
Kashima snorted and tossed your hands off of him. "You're stuck with the part. Even if you go into a coma you're still playing Nozaki Yui."
You groaned and looked up at Momoi with narrowed eyes. "I hate you."
"Don't worry, the feeling's mutual." He hissed. His happy exterior was gone and he walked away from you, calling over his shoulder, "Let's practice tomorrow at my house. I don't want your terrible acting to ruin the play."
That night you began to reflect on your history with Momoi Satsuki. You two were best friends in elementary school because your teacher accidentally partnered him with you because of his feminine name. Later he introduced you to Aomine, but you still liked Momoi better. His cheerful personality and cute laugh charmed you and by the time you two entered middle school you were head over heels in love with him.
That's also where everything went wrong.
Momoi was undoubtedly handsome and he became even more popular when he started hanging out with all of the Generation of Miracles. Him and Kise would kindly reject girls daily and you didn't dare say your feelings aloud to the pinkette. Those girls were so much prettier, smarter, and talented than you so how could he ever want to be with you?
You were practically strangers since you shared no classes and girls would bully you just because you knew him for a long time. The one time you tried to tell him about your bullies he brushed you off to go fanboy over one of the school's basketball players, Kuroko. This caused you to become a depressed introvert that barely interacted with anyone.
You were walking home from school like usual when you were done studying. The final exams of your third year in Teikou were right around the corner and you were determined to get the best marks in your year. Well, the best marks other than Akashi Seijuro. It was impossible to beat the redheaded captain.
"(Y/N)-chan, we need to talk."
You plucked out your earbuds, surprised at the voice. Momoi, your ex-best friend you hadn't spoken to in almost a year, appeared by your side with a frown. You furrowed your eyebrows and tilted your head.
"What is it?" You asked.
"Stop bullying Aimi-chan." He growled.
You gasped, your jaw dropping and eyes bulging. Chitoge Aimi was your greatest bully that harassed you on a daily basis, and he was telling you to stop bullying her? Not only that, but he was furious and shooting daggers into your soul. You scoffed and stopped walking to turn towards him.
"Are you kidding me, Satsuki-kun?" You snorted.
Satsuki narrowed his eyes and leaned forwards, towering over your smaller form. "I'm serious, (Y/N)-chan. I don't know what's gotten into you, but I never expected to have my girlfriend come crying to me because you gave her a black eye."
Flashbacks of the day before flickered through your mind and you could only stare incredulously at Momoi. She slapped you straight across the face after school because you greeted him in the hallway. Your patience was shattered so you punched her in defense and sent her running for the hills.
"It's not like I broke her nose." You coolly responded, crossing your arms. "And wait, you're dating Chitoge Aimi?"
"I am. Aimi-chan is the most beautiful, kindest, and intelligent girl I've ever met. How dare you hurt her?" He shouted heatedly.
"Your precious angel has been harassing me for the past three years and yesterday she slapped me across my face. Did you expect me not to do anything?" You raised your voice, disappointed and hurt that he complimented her like that.
"She would never do that! I know her better than I know myself." Momoi barked, his eyes darkened and veins starting to stick out of his neck.
Never before had you seen him this angry and it pissed you off that it was at you because of his 'darling' girlfriend. "Do you seriously think I would lie to you? I've known you since we were five years-old and you believe her over me!"
Momoi laughed heartlessly and the humor left his being. "I understand now. You're jealous of her."
"Jealous of her?" You repeated in disbelief.
"Yeah, you're jealous that she's such an amazing person and that I spend so much time with her now instead of you. You've even sunk low enough to make lies about her to make you look better." Momoi heartlessly explained.
A painful chuckle ripped through your chest and you shook your head. "You're a fucking idiot, Momoi. I'm not even going to waste my time with you anymore."
You turned to walk away but he grabbed you by your shoulders and his fingers painfully dug into your skin. "I don't care about your stupid opinion on myself. I want you to apologize to Aimi-chan."
"Kiss my ass." You hissed. You used all of you strength to bat his arms away and turned your face so he couldn't see the tears in your eyes. "Go take care of your girlfriend. I'll die before I say sorry to her."
With that, you left and whatever bridge that tied you and Momoi together turned to ash.
You stood in front of the Momoi residence, your fist hovering over the wooden door in mid-knock. The last time you were at his house was when the two of you were having a sleepover in fifth grade. You remembered bouncing on the doorstep and flinging yourself into Momoi's arms when he opened the door then running into the living room to make a fort. Shoving the memories out of your head, you banged on the door and tapped your foot impatiently.
"You don't have to break the door, (L/N)." Momoi scolded when he opened the door.
You bit back a sharp retort as you entered the house and looked around. The only thing that really changed was the pictures of Momoi changing over the years. Where a picture of you and him used to be was a selfie of him and Chitoge. You swallowed the bile in your throat and followed Momoi upstairs.
"Where are your parents?" You asked.
"They left a week ago for a month-long cruise." He answered, not sparing a glance back at you. "You know where my room is, I'm going to get something."
He briskly walked past you and you let yourself into his room. His old posters and sheets were changed and he had a larger bookshelf. You wandered over to it and quietly giggled when you saw your school's fifth-grade yearbook. Grabbing it, you flipped through the pages and smiled sadly when you saw you'd taken up a whole signature page by yourself full of doodles and you'd written with a (F/C) pen, 'Let's be best friends forever!'.
You jumped when you heard Momoi's footsteps coming down the hallway and you tucked the yearbook back in its place and sat down. He came in with a bag of candy and threw it into your lap. You held it and blinked in surprise when you saw most of it was your favorite candies.
"Okay," he said, sitting across from you. "Let's start."

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! I'm truly thankful that somehow I've went from ten votes to over three thousand within the last two months. You guys are all amazing and it wows me every time I log into Wattpad that I have people voting on my stories :*
This is my first time ever cutting a oneshot in half, but I wanted to give this certain scenario more depth but it was too long to put into one. I'm trying to maintain a 1600 word average because I often run out of steam for characters I don't care for. This way it isn't too obvious which characters I prefer, but you guys can probably already tell TnT
But I do have a question - do any of you like Pokemon? Games, anime, fanfiction, all of the above or just one? Just curious :3
Lots of love, Cora-chan <3
