1. Izuki Shun: Dog Days

1.  Izuki Shun: Dog Days

A year and a half ago, your parents bought a female American Staffordshire terrier and named her Blossom. She was one of the most adorable puppies you’ve ever seen with a stocky tan-and-white body and huge curious eyes.

As she grew up, Blossom went from thirteen pounds to nearly sixty. She was pure muscle and intimidated everyone that didn’t already know her incredibly timid scaredy-cat nature. Blossom got excited easily and would throw herself at people’s feet the moment she saw them and whine until she was petted by them.

It was a sunny afternoon when you had to take her on a walk. You plugged in your earbuds and listened to your music, losing yourself in your favorite songs. Apparently, you lost yourself too much because a jogger walked past you and Blossom charged after her.

“Blossom, no!” You yelped as your earbuds fell out. You yanked back on her leash and she strained against it, wildly wriggling in your grasp as she tried to go after her. “Blossom, stop. Sit. Stay.”

Blossom stared at you pleadingly and whined as she strained against the leash. You frowned and ran your hands through your hair, thoroughly exasperated with her antics. A song you didn’t care for came on and you paused to change it and the moment you put your phone back in your pocket Blossom charged forwards. You yelped as the leash caught on your ankles yanked you off the ground.

The sidewalk tore at your skin and you hissed as a sharp burning sensation enflamed the area. Your hands and knees were covered in scrapes and you dully noted to eat more vitamins in the future. You looked up and saw Blossom wriggling at your side then to the hand right in front of you. Looking up, your cheeks turned pink as you recognized your boyfriend, Izuki Shun.

“You said you loved me already, but apparently you’re still falling.” He smiled, giggling like a little kid at his pun.

You rolled your eyes and grabbed onto his hand and he helped you to your feet. “Haha, you’re so funny.”

“I’m the best.” He said. He grabbed your hand and kissed the small cut on your knuckle. “There, it’s all better now.”

Izuki handed Blossom’s leash to you and she threw himself at his feet and rolled onto her back so her belly was facing up. She whined until he petted her then she barked and jumped to her feet. He was too slow and received a lick across the face and he stumbled back with a slightly grossed out face.

“What a pawful greeting.” You snickered.

Izuki’s eyes shone and he snapped his fingers. “Wow, you’re really begging me for my jokes, aren’t you?”

“Can we paws this and just talk regularly, Shun-kun?” You asked, arching an eyebrow.

“Okay,” he agreed.

He took out one of his infamous joke books from his messenger bag and began to scrawl down the conversation the two of you just had. You smiled at his antics and couldn’t help but adore his dorkiness. Tons of girls at school would crush on him before they found it his strange habit of randomly making puns. Some of them were funny but others made you sweatdrop.

“Okay, okay, one last one.” Izuki insisted, giving you puppy-dog eyes. “I swear I’ll stop after I tell you it.”

Blossom shared a despaired look with you and you sighed. “Fine, go ahead.”

He bit back his laughter and clasped his hands together. “What does one toilet say to another toilet when flirting?”

“‘Wow, you look flushed’?” You guessed.

“No, but that’s a good one.” Izuki mumbled as he wrote it down. He cleared his throat and lifted his chin and announced loudly, “The real answer is that the toilet says to the other, ‘On a scale of one to ten, urinate!’.”

You stared at him blankly as you processed it and face-palmed when you understood the pun. “Shin-kun, that’s, that’s–“

“Hilarious? Intelligent?” He cooed as he wrapped his arm around you. He nuzzled his face into your hair and smiled like an idiot.

“That’s dumb.” You laughed. You playfully pushed him off of you and arched an eyebrow. “On a scale of one to ten, what am I?”

Izuki chuckled and kissed your cheek. “That’s easy, (Y/N)-chan. You’re my little infinity~”

“Aw, how cute,” you blushed, rolling your eyes.

Unbeknownst to you, the rest of the Seirin team found the two of you and were silently following behind. Izuki had ran off when they were playing in the park’s basketball court then Mitobe told Koga who told the rest of the team that he found you. Riko and Kiyoshi beamed at the two of you while Kagami scowled.

“That’s disgusting. Don’t they have any modesty at all?” The redhead grumbled. An irk mark sat on his head and he scoffed when Izuki kissed your cheek again.

“They’re just rubbing it in all of our faces that they’re in a relationship and we’re not.” Hyūga added. His glasses gleamed white in the light, casting a scary aura around him. Kagami paled and scooted away from the captain when he cracked his knuckles.

“They look so cute together~” Kiyoshi airily grinned. “I’m happy for them.”

Kagami regretted sitting in between his upperclassman when Hyūga set his fiery glare upon Kiyoshi. The brunette ignored him and continued to sparkle out flowers and rainbows as he stared at you and Izuki. Kagami retreated to where Kuroko was only to find him missing.

“Where’s Kuroko-kun?” Kagami yelped.

Furihata, who was standing next to Kuroko the entire time, shrugged. “He said he was going to get a water bottle for Nigou-kun.”

“BLOSSOM, NO!”

You’d been holding onto the leash loosely when Blossom saw Nigou walking past you with Kuroko. She dove headfirst towards the smaller puppy and began to try to inhale him. Her tail was like a boat rudder as she licked and sniffed his face, almost pushing him over because of her excited squirming and much larger frame.

Izuki grabbed the leash off the ground and pulled Blossom back. She whined loudly as she tried to run to Nigou. Blossom was about the equivalent of a Mexican jumping bean and it seemed that you couldn’t contain her in a can.

You bowed to Kuroko and hid your burning cheeks with your hand. “I’m so sorry, Kuroko-san.”

“It’s fine,” he emotionlessly replied. “Let’s go, Nigou.”

You felt jealous when Nigou trotted after Kuroko and held onto your shorts so you wouldn’t hit anybody. Turning to Izuki, you saw he finally calmed Blossom down and she was sprawled out on the ground asleep. You sighed and hung your head in shame.

“That was terrible.” You moaned.

Izuki pulled you into a hug and set his chin on your head. “That was pretty ruff -” He grunted from where you punched his stomach. “But, it wasn’t that bad. Kuroko-kun won’t hold this against you and no one will judge you for having an excited dog.”

You buried your face in his shirt even more when he mentioned Blossom. “I’m never going to be able to talk to him ever again.”

“Sure you will.” He crooned, rubbing circles into your back with one of his hands. He took the other and tilted your chin up and gave you a short and sweet kiss. “Do you feel better now, (Y/N)-chan?”

Your heart swooned and you nodded. “Thanks, Shun-kun.”

Izuki stole another kiss from you and winked. “That one’s just for good luck.”

Apparently you had terrible luck, because Izuki continued to kiss you for the rest of your life.
