Chapter 14: Kiri's House

I flailed around, struggling to breathe between the boobs and a crushing hug. "Mom! Mom! She can't breathe!" Kirishima came to my rescue, prying me from Suka's arms. "Oh my goodness, was that my fault?!" She brought a fist against her head, laughing sheepishly. "Sorry sweetie!"

I giggled nervously, bowing my head slightly. "I'm fine, Suka-shi. No need to worry."

"Aww aren't you cute with your formalities! But please, they make me feel like I have to be responsible! Just Suka is plenty." The lively woman laughed again, her smile infectious and familiar; the same sharp-toothed grin that I had fallen for. She gave Kiri a hearty slap on the back before leading us both into the house.

"So you two do whatever you'd like! I'm gonna whip up some dinner for us, give me about an hour. Just make yourself at home, 'kay?" Suka threw her short hair into a stubby ponytail, flashing a thumbs-up at Kiri and me. "Sounds good Mom, thanks!" Kirishima smiled at his energetic mom, giving her a quick side hug.

He then grabbed my hand, dragging me down the hallway to the last door on the left. The kanji for strength was written on the wooden door in red, separating it slightly from the rest of the doors on the hall. "Welcome to my corner of the house!" Kiri threw the door to reveal a messy room cluttered with schoolbooks, training objects, and dozens of Crimson Riot trinkets.

He set our bags down on his desk before collapsing into his chair, spinning it around so that we were facing each other. "Sleepy?" I cocked my head to the side, smiling sweetly at my boyfriend. He chuckled a little, rubbing his face. "Yeah, just a bit... I think that I'm gonna go take a shower though. That might wake me up a bit. You should rest though. I still don't know how bad your injuries are..." Kirishima rummaged through his dresser, throwing his shirt at me.

I giggled and caught it, only to throw it back at him. He laughed, winking to me as he left for the bathroom. Flopping down onto his bed, I couldn't help but notice how it smelled like Kiri. This wasn't surprising, but it made me blush in spite of myself. I looked around the room, enjoying all the posters and trinkets that he had of his hero. There was even a punching bag placed directly in the middle of the room. Everything pointed to how hard he worked to become the man that he was now.

Even though Kirishima had told me to rest, I was feeling antsy just laying here. I crept out of his room, hearing the clang of dishes from the kitchen "Oh! I should help Suka cook dinner!" Walking to the kitchen, the aroma of curry filled my nose, the spices hanging in the air. "Suka?" I peeked into the kitchen, the woman staring intently at a pot that was simmering over the stove. At the sound of my voice, she whipped around, a wooden spoon still in her hands.

"Oh hey sweetie! You need something?" Suka swiped her finger against the spoon, tasting her sauce. "I just wanted to know if I could help you with anything." She smiled at me, ruffling my hair. "Of course! I've pretty much finished the sauce, but we can go ahead and start getting the plates ready."

"Okie!" I spooned out the rice onto plates while Suka ladled the curry onto them. "Hey sweetie, did Eijiro ever tell you how he got his scar?" I shook me head no as I began to load the dishwasher out of habit. "Oh, you're in for a treat! So basically, when he was little he got up in the middle of the night to pee and rubbed his eye because he had just woken up. His Quirk just happened to manifest and he tore his own face open by accident! You should have seen little three year old Eiji! He just kept crying and crying-"

"MOM!" A blushing Kirishima ran into the room, water still dripping from his hair and onto his bare chest. What I assumed was his shirt was clutched tightly in his hands, a slight scowl on his face. "I would appreciate if you didn't blabber about my childhood! Especially not to my girlfriend..."

"Oh please kiddo! I didn't even get into the juicy stuff yet!" Suka winked at her son while he groaned. "Just stop, please Mom. Spare me some mercy." I giggled, finding the situation funny, but more so because of the sight in front of me. Kirishima was once again shirtless, water shining on his rippling muscles, but what really caught my attention was his hair. It hung down to just above his shoulders, long bangs parted so that his eyes and his scar were still visible.

I felt my face heat up, my heart pounding at this new side of him. To prevent myself from staring any longer, I ran off to grab the plates, my cheeks bright pink. I grabbed two of them, carrying the third with my Quirk. While I was going back to set them on the table though, I felt my foot slip in something slick. I lurched forward, desperately trying to save the plates, managing to use my Quirk to keep them all level in the air.

However, I was still free falling toward the hardwood, too close to save myself. That's when a strong pair of arms grabbed my waist from behind, my nose a few inches away from the ground. "Jeez, you still haven't stopped being clumsy. Even after all the hero training too..." Kirishima pulled me up to his chest, gently pressing his lips against my forehead.

I blushed like mad, unable to react after such a quick series of events. "H-H-Hey! Don't tease me! It's not like hero training is supposed to make you less clumsy!" I hid my face away in my shirt, Kirishima laughing while Suka had plucked the plates from the air, setting them down onto the table. "C'mon lovebirds, I don't want it to be cold!" Kirishima blushed a bit at his mom's comment while I waved my hands wildly in front of my face; my embarrassment level was above what I could normally handle.

The food was delicious and it was nice eating with Kiri and Suka. She never made it awkward; in fact, it was more like we were eating lunch in the cafeteria rather than me meeting his mother for the first time. After we finished, Suka swept the dishes away before I could react. "Wait, Suka, let me help you!"

"Don't worry about it sweetie," She gave me a little wink before turning on the water. "You two go do whatever you want. I mean, I don't have any condoms with me Eiji, so I wouldn't advise sex, but it's not out of the question-"

"MOM!" Kiri ran behind his mom, covering her mouth with his hands. Both of us shared the same red face, nearly as bright as his hair. Suka flicked water on her son, forcing him to release his hands. "I was kidding!" She laughed as she closed the dishwasher. "Well, I mean we really don't have any condoms but-"

"Bye mom." Kirishima cut his mother off, grabbing my hand to lead me back to his room.

He practically slammed the door shut, pinching the bridge of his nose with a sigh. "I'm sorry about her... She's always like this." I giggled again, twirling a piece of my hair with my finger. "Don't worry about it Kiri! I quite like your mom!" Grabbing my bag, I rummaged through it until I found my pajamas and toothbrush. "Mind if I use your restroom?" I held up the contents with my head tilted to the side.

"Yeah no problem, first door to the right when you walk out."

"Thanks!"

I ran out of the room, opening the bathroom door slowly at first, peeking through to make sure it was the right room. After checking, I brushed my teeth and began to change. My pajamas were simple; just a very large, very soft tee shirt that I wore like a dress. It came all the way down to mid-thigh, the sleeves reaching almost to my wrists. I debated on whether or not to put my hair into some low pigtails, but decided against it. I would just deal with messy hair in the morning.

A knock at the door interrupted my train of thought as I turned to look at where the sound came from. "Yes?"

"You're wearing clothes... Right?" From the other side, I could hear Kiri's nervous voice; I could practically see him blushing as he asked that question. I opened the door just a crack so that he could only see my eyes. "Wanna take a wild guess?" I smirked as his face went from a pale blush to a bright red. "Chi! Don't... Don't say stuff like that!"

"I'm just playing!" I opened the door laughing, Kirishima joining in with an embarrassed chuckle. He grabbed his toothbrush from out of a cup, the bristles frayed beyond recognition. "Damn already?!" Kiri sighed dejectedly at the pitiful excuse of a toothbrush. "Kiri, I don't think that your toothbrush should look like that..." I couldn't help but giggled, his toothbrush so damaged that it was funny.

"Oh really now?" Kirishima playfully flicked the side of my head. "Yeah, I go through a lot of toothbrushes. It's all thanks to these." He smiled brightly, showing off his iconic shark teeth. "I'll get a new one tomorrow I guess..." I grabbed my own toothbrush and we began to brush, each of us taking one of the sinks on the double vanity.

I collapsed on his bed after we both finished up, my body hitting against his soft comforter. The distinct smell of Kirishima made me even more drowsy, as though it was a safety blanket. A soft smile spread across my lips, this sense of warmth much needed after what happened earlier today. Kiri laid down next to me and I turned to look at him, despite still laying down on my back.

He snuggled up next to me, forcing the both of us to change positions. His lips gently kissed my hair and forehead, my hand wrapping around his. I abruptly sat up, Kirishima a little startled by my sudden movements. He watched me curiously as I crawled up to the top of the bed, sitting near the pillows with my legs crossed. Smiling, I patted my lap. "Lay here Kiri, I wanna play with your hair,"

"That doesn't seem very manly..." Kirishima reluctantly laid his head down on my lap, resting against my bare thighs. I began to run my fingers through his hair, enjoying the surprisingly soft texture. He began to relax his muscles, his face softening into a dazed grin. "Okay, maybe this isn't so bad..." I giggled at his quick change of heart.

While I was toying with his hair, I let my fingers slip over his small scar. His eyes began to close slightly at my touch. My body mimicked the action, sleep threatening to take over any second. It was already pretty late at night, my entire being exhausted from the events of today. Kiri lazily opened one eye after my touch had slowed to a stop. My head hung down and my fingers were resting against his brow. "Aww, are you sleepy, baby?" He straightened his posture and gently lifted me into his arms.

" Wha... What are you doing?" Despite my words, I still snuggled deeply into his arms, an indescribable warmth surging through my body as I leaned into him. Careful not to jostle me, he slid off the bed and pulled down the covers. "Getting the bed ready so that you can sleep." With that, he set me down, my head resting against his pillows. "If you need anything, I'll be sleeping in the living room."

"Wait!" I cried out softly, abruptly sitting up. "You're not staying?" The magnitude of my words hit me just after they left my lips, but I didn't let my sudden rush of shyness deter me. I felt my hands slightly tremble at the thought of being left alone, especially tonight. "You want me to?" Kirishima sat down next to me on the bed, his hand slowly interlocking with mine.

I met his gaze, my eyes slightly wet from tears that threatened to fall. "Please... Please don't go." My body shivered slightly against my will, fear crashing over me in waves. Kirishima immediately noticed my quivers and pulled me into his chest, rubbing circles on my back. "It's okay baby, I'm here."

At those words, I lost it. Tears slipped down my face in quick rivers, dripping off my chin and into his shirt. I whimpered, little shaky squeaks of my voice escaping from my lips. My throat was tight and hot as I tried to keep quiet, but broken heaves kept coming over and over again. I furiously wiped the palms of my hands against my face. Shame mixed in with my anxiety, as I tucked my face away in Kirishima's slightly damp shirt.

He didn't say anything, instead keeping his body against mine with his head nestled in my hair. Occasionally, I thought that I heard a faint whisper or muted mumble, but he never tried to speak. Even so, his presence was more than enough to provide comfort. "Kiri..."

"Yes Chi?"

"I... I'm scared."

"I know baby, I know." I stayed in his chest as his hands combed through my hair just as I was doing to his before. "Don't worry. You're safe with me. I promise... I promise, you're safe with me."

"Don't leave me, okay Kiri? Promise me... You have to promise me that you'll stay here with me." I clutched the fabric of his shirt, still sniffling, recovering from my sobs. "I promise." He lifted my chin up gently so that I was facing him properly. A timid smile traced my lips swiftly followed by his fingers. Kirishima softly placed his mouth against mine, his own smile almost breaking the kiss.

Our lips were barely touching, like we were whispering back and forth. The small bursts of heat when we did meet, though, made the experience even more magical. The few remaining tears of mine dripped away, whisked off by Kiri's calloused hands. When we parted, my breath was stolen away by the realization of everything. I opened my eyes to see my boyfriend, hair down, smiling sleepily at me with his own tears on his face.

I wiped them off his face with a soft grin and with that we pulled back the blankets to get into bed. I gladly accepted his snuggles, sighing happily as his warmth soothed away all my memories.
