O...K...A...Y...

I may, or may not, be falling for my best friend.  Damnit!  I was only doing what a best friend would do... That's not important right now, I need to focus on what's up with him.  One question at a time though, I don't want to bombard him with personal questions all at once now do I?  

"Well...? Are you gonna explain anything or...?" I trailed off as he looked away.

"Okay, first of all, why are you up at this time?" I questioned first.  

"Well, I'm not a great sleeper.  I got to sleep at one this time...heh.  So I'm always asleep late and sometimes I don't even sleep at all.  On days when I'm most tired, I might accidentally fall asleep super early...but it's usually not for long.  Six hours at most.  I'm either woken up by my alarm, school, OTHER GOD DAMN PEOPLE, sometimes naturally but usually by..."  He slowly came to a stop mid sentence after his short ramble.

"By what Bakugo...?" I prompted.  He looked into my yes and opened his mouth to speak but closed it again and rolled onto his back and sighed.  

"It's nothing...really, it's stupid...it doesn't matter" ...........LIES! I grabbed his arm and unintentionally pulled us closer together.

"TELL. ME."  I say looking into his eyes again.

Bakugos P.o.V

"UGH, FINE, GOD!" Why does he have to be so god damn persistent!?  "So..." He continued.  "It's just some dumb nightmare.  That's all, like I said, no big deal!"  God sake!  

"Thank you for telling me...but now...sleep!"  Here he goes again!  

"NOPE!" I yell reaching for my phone. 

"Whhhhyyy?" He whined.  

"Ugh!"  I tried reaching for it again but he wouldn't let me.  "Because I just can't do it... When I sleep there is nothing to distract me from my own damn thoughts...my stupid messed up mind!"  I felt my eyes start to glaze over with fresh tears again.

"But you can because now..."  He took my hands preventing me from reaching my device for the third time.  I blushed a little for no stupid reason but it died down almost immediately.

"...you have me to protect you!" He finished.

"I DONT NEED YOUR PROTECTION!!" I yelled back.

Kirishimas P.o.V

"Heheheh" I giggled.  "Okay the, think of me as...backup!" I suggested.  

"Eh...whatever!" He replied, which I took as a yes or sure.  "Now sleep!" I stated.

After quite a while of lying in silence his eyes drifted shut and he was asleep.  He looks so safe in his sleep. I decided to wait up half an hour or soon case the nightmare came back.  But I meant what I said before, I'm going to protect him at all costs!  Just as I thought that that his eyebrows furrowed and he looked distressed.

The nightmare.

I leant forward and pressed my lips to his forehead softly and he appeared to calm down as I whispered...

"I'll always be here for you Baku..."
