Day 3 - Reincarnations

Monnie was ecstatic. He was finally going to UA Highschool, where some of the best heroes had gone, like the legend of All Might, and Deku, Lemillion, Uravity, and his personal favorites, Ground Zero and Red Riot. Monnie was especially excited because he had a Quirk similar to Ground Zero's. His Quirk: Grenade. Monnie could secrete a sweat-like substance anywhere on his body that would explode on impact.

He walked inside the classroom he'd be learning in. His homeroom teacher was none other than the pro hero Shouto. Monnie was a little embarrassed at the sight. When he was younger, he had a bit of a celebrity crush on Shouto, but could you blame him? Shouto was voted one of the best-looking heroes of his generation. Monnie blushed slightly, avoided making eye contact and sat in a seat in the middle of the classroom.

"Good morning, class. As most of you know, my hero name is Shouto, but in this classroom, you are to refer to me as Todoroki-sensei. Understood?" The class nodded and there was a murmur of, "Yes, Todoroki-sensei." He smiled. "Great. Let's start off with something my own homeroom teacher never bothered to do, and introduce ourselves to the rest of the class," he said and left the room.

Monnie turned to his right and saw a smaller boy sitting nervously, with short pink hair and freckles, not looking up as everyone else was talking. Monnie caught a glimpse of the boy's jacket on his chair, it had Red Riot's signature gear symbol on it. "Hey, you like Red Riot, too?" Monnie asked him. The boy looked up and smiled. "Yeah. He's my favorite hero. My Quirk is similar to his, and he was one of the first openly gay pros to make it on the top ten list, he's super cool!" He stood up and Monnie did the same. "My personal favorite is Ground Zero, I mean, he was the number two hero! It's a shame he and Red Riot died together before I was born, I would've loved to meet them," Monnie said. The other boy's smile dropped. "Yeah. They made the ultimate sacrifice to help Deku defeat Shigaraki, it was super noble of them."

Monnie laughed suddenly. "What's up?" the boy asked. "Nothing, it's just that, I can't believe I'm doing hero trivia on the first day of school. Anyway, my name's Monnie, what about you?" "I'm Bren."

-3 months later-

"I can't believe we're going on the same summer trip you went on, Todoroki-sensei!" called Cherie from the front of the bus. She seemed more excited than the rest of the class. Monnie and Bren sat in the back, away from their classmates, and talked softly to each other. They held hands and Bren leaned his head on Monnie's shoulder. Bren had grown out his hair since the first day of school, and Monnie ran his fingers through it. Todoroki-sensei had began to speak again. "I don't have very fond memories of the camp. When I was here as a student, villains attacked, and I was informally introduced to my eldest brother." Nobody in the class needed an explanation. They had all been told the story of UA's students and the forest camp attack. It was said to be right before All Might was forced into retirement. Monnie, personally, still didn't believe that this legendary "All Might" had existed, but there was supposed video proof.

After a few hours of training, Monnie was exhausted. His arms felt weak from using his explosions all day. Cherie came up to him, her bright red hair bouncing. "Hey," she said. Monnie groaned in returned. "It's been exhausting, right? I can barely keep up with this," Cherie told him. Her Quirk was vine, she could grow any plant that had vines. Her specialty was poison ivy. "Bren was looking for you, by the way," she added. "Oh. Where is he?" Monnie asked. Cherie gently touched her hand the ground and grew a passion flower vine. "He's right at the entrance to the forest. Take some of the flowers with you," she said. Monnie picked a couple of flowers and went over to the treeline. Bren was sitting under a tree, drawing in the dirt.

"Hey, Bren," Monnie said softly. Bren stood up. "Hi." Monnie handed him the flowers. "Cherie told me to give you these." His face lit up and he exclaimed, "Aww, these are my favorite!" Monnie smiled, then gently took Bren by the arm and kissed him. Bren tilted his head into the kiss, and Monnie could feel him smiling. "Ugh, I'm still all sweaty," Monnie groaned. Bren laughed. "Don't worry, me too."

The training camp was successful. Monnie and Bren officially labelled themselves as "boyfriends". When they got back to UA, Monnie asked Bren to stay at his place for a couple of days. Bren asked his parents, who said yes.

Bren knocked on the door. An older man who looked like Monnie but with stubble answered. He had the same messy brown hair as Monnie, but longer and pulled into a bun. The man was chewing on a toothpick. "Mon, your boyfriend's here," he said as Bren walked in. Monnie walked in. "Thanks, Yuko," he said, then turned to Bren. "Hey, babe." Bren smiled at him and kissed his cheek. Yuko went over to the television and turned it on. Monnie looked over his shoulder as the news came on. Yuko was about to change the channel when the anchorwoman started speaking.

"Today marks the 20th anniversary of the infamous battle dubbed 'The Quintet of Heroes' in honor of the five heroes that gave their life to defeat Shigaraki Tomura. Froppy, Tsuyu Asui. Tentacole, Shouji Mezo. Creati, Yaoyorozu Momo. Ground Zero, Bakugou Katsuki. Red Riot, Kirishima Eijirou." Bren's face dropped. Monnie put his arm around him. "Ugh, I'm gonna leave, this is depressing," Yuko said, getting up from the couch, where Monnie and Bren then sat. "But due to a recent discovery by a scientist thought to be Quirkless, it has been revealed that she indeed has a Quirk, to see the past lives of others. It's very possible that some of the heroes are among us in spirit. So today, we shall honor them with more passion than ever before."

"Hey, Monnie," Bren said quietly. "Yeah?"

"What if we were reincarnations of Ground Zero and Red Riot?"

"That would be great, wouldn't it?"

"Yeah, it would be."
