Episode 61: Dedede-isease Breakout
A lot of citizens of Cappy Town were caught with an unknown disease. Those who were diagnosed with the unknown disease were all coughing, sneezing, and had a bad fever. They all went to Dr. Curio, but even Dr. Curio did not know the vaccine for the unknown diseases.
"Wait, so it's not just regular sickness?" Gus asked after he finished coughing.
"So am I not going to be cured?" Melman asked, who claimed that he was feeling a sort of body ache.
"You mean you can't treat my wife?" Mayor asked as Hana sneezed with a mask on while sitting in the patient's chair.
"Is my baby gonna die?" Spikehead's mother panicked as Spikehead was coughing with a mask on while sitting on the patient's chair.
"But you're the doctor, how do you not know?!" Escargoon asked with his mask on as his forehead was burning. No one was with him. Of course, Dedede would not visit Yabui with him.
"People, people, please calm down," Yabui said. "I may not have the vaccine yet, but it is still a weak bacteria. Don't panic, I'll eventually find a solution to this!"
Yabui said that so that the Cappies do not freak out, but the truth is, he was also concerned, mainly because he simply cannot find a vaccine to kill the unknown disease. He stayed up all night to analyze the bacteria of the unknown disease. "Hmm... I really don't know what this bacteria is..." Yabui said as he looked inside the microscope. "I gotta hand the sample to Tiff so that she can analyze it with me... I gotta tell everyone in Cappy Town."
The next day, Yabui sent an article about the unknown disease. His article read:
Dear citizens of Cappy Town,
This is Dr. Yabui. There are people who came to my office with the same unknown disease. I have analyzed the bacteria, and this is all new to this planet. So far, it is possible to be cured by increasing the immune system and being cured naturally. So far, only Gus has been the only one who turned out to be cured naturally.
If you are feeling sick, please stay inside. Even for those who are not sick, please refrain from going outside as much as possible because it will only increase the possibility of becoming infected.
Do whatever it can to stay healthy. Drink plenty of water, eat a balanced diet, refrain from eating too much junk food.
More importantly, remain calm at all times. Stressing out will only weaken your immune system and will increase the possibility of being infected.
After every cappies received Yabui's article, every cappies took action.

While Tuggle was organizing everything in his store, literally every single citizen of Cappy Town started to burst into his store. They all panicked as they ran to pick up toilet papers, hand sanitizers, milk, bread, and everything they can find that are considered essentials.
"WHOA! What is going on here?!" Tuggle asked.
"We need to prepare to be self-quarantined!" One female cappy said.
"We cannot go outside for a while!" One male cappy said.
"We have to buy everything so that we can last for weeks in our homes!" Another female cappy said.
"Tuggle, do you have any more toilet papers?" Other female cappy asked.
"Where is the milk? They're all gone!" Another male cappy asked.
Some cappies were fighting for what they wanted.
"Hey! I saw that bread first!" The first female cappy said angrily.
"Well, I grabbed it first!" The second female cappy argued.
"You have enough milk! Let me have some!" The first male cappy yelled as he reached for one gallon.
"Hands off! I need this much!" The second male cappy said as he slapped the hand of the first male cappy.
Tuggle had to restock everything by bringing everything out from the storage because every cappies were panic-buying. Some were buying 20 packs of toilet paper, 10 gallons of milk, 15 loaves of bread, or 10 boxes of cereal.
After every customer left after panic-buying, Tuggle's store was completely empty. "Whoa..." Tuggle said to himself as he looked at the empty shelves and refrigerators. He wrote a sign that said, 'Sorry, there is nothing left' and closed the store. Besides Tuggle's store, everywhere else was closed. Gengu's toy store, Kawasaki's restaurant, Mabel's fortune-telling shop, Gus' gas station, Chief Bookem's station, Samo's bar, Professor Curio's museum, and Biblio's bookstore. Yabui had to stay open so that cappies can get checked up. Even though many stores were closed, Tuggle, Kawasaki, Gengu, and Samo decided to make deliveries.
After every cappies panic-bought everything and went back inside to quarantine themselves, Tiff, Tuff, and Kirby went out to buy the groceries, only to see closed Tuggle's store.
"What?!" Tiff exclaimed. "No more groceries?!"
"Are we gonna starve?" Tuff panicked.
"POYO POYO POYO!" Kirby panicked even more.
"I... I hope Kawasaki's restaurant is open at least..." Tiff said. "Let's walk over there to check."
"I just cannot let you guys sit in," Kawasaki said when they arrived. "I can give you guys food, but you can only take them home to eat it."
"Well, at least he still serves food," Tuff said as he put his hands behind his back.
"I hope I don't lose customers..." Kawasaki said. "I'm also going to need some deliverers too!"
"That would be the problem," Tiff said. "Except the part that you're gonna lose customers since you already don't have much."
Kawasaki sadly groaned as he placed his chef hat over his face. "Oh, were you guys here buy something to eat? Or free leftovers for Kirby?" Kawasaki asked as he put his chef hat back on.
"Yeah, do you have any leftovers?" Tiff asked.
"Give me one second," Kawasaki said as he headed back in the kitchen.
"Hey, Kawasaki!" Yabui called as he came into the restaurant. "Oh! Tiff! You're here too! Perfect timing! I have to give you something."
"Give me what?" Tiff asked.
Yabui took out a tube from his chest pocket. "This is the bacteria sample of the unknown disease," Yabui said as he showed and handed it to her. "Although I am doing the analysis myself, I cannot just rely on my brain. I am counting on you to come up with a vaccine or an antidote for this bacteria."
"You got it, Dr. Yabui," Tiff said as she put the tube of bacteria samples in her pocket.
"I got the leftovers, and did someone call me?" Kawasaki said as he carried the plates of leftovers out of the kitchen.

"ESCARGOON! WHERE YA HIDIN' AT!?" Dedede's annoying screech echoed throughout the castle once more.
"Sire, please let Escargoon rest today," Waddle Doo said as he approached Dedede instead. "Sir Escargoon has been diagnosed with this unknown disease that everyone in Cappy Town is freaked out about."
"Whachu talkin' 'bout?!" Dedede asked.
"Sire, the majority of the people are sick," Waddle Doo explained. "And no one knows the cure for it yet. So please be careful, your majesty."
"Fine! You and Waddle Dees can get meh something to snack on!" Dedede demanded as he crossed his arms, and walked away when he finished talking.
"Waddle Dees!" Waddle Doo called.

Meanwhile, Escargoon walked to the throne room since he desperately needed to find a vaccine quick, and he knew just the person who can figure that out: Susie. He went to the throne room and contacted Susie.
"Hello, your ma-" Susie sounded irritated at first until she realized it was Escargoon instead of Dedede. She sounded much more relaxed when she greeted Escargoon, "Oh, hello, sir Escargoon. How are you doing today?"
"I'm sick," Escargoon said weakly. "Doctor here... cannot... figure out the solution..."
"Ooh, I see," Susie said. "I can assume what you want from me. You want me to check if there is a vaccine for this unknown disease that you're talking about."
"Ye-yes!" Escargoon said feebly, shivering for a moment.
"All right, sir Escargoon," Susie said. "If you can just send me a sample of the bacteria, I think I have just a thing to analyze it and find a vaccine for it. If you can just bring me the bacterial sample, I'll be able to analyze it for you and find a vaccine that you can take in order to help you cure it."
"Thank... y-" Escargoon spoke up.
"No problem, sir Escargoon," Susie replied before he finished thanking her. "I'll be here when you send me the sample. Itta bwayo~" She disconnected with the brightest wave.
"Bacteria... sample...?" Escargoon said to himself. "If I can ask her..." Escargoon thought about Tiff.
"For what?" Tiff asked.
"To... send some... to... a doctor..." Escargoon stuttered.
"To the doctor?" Tiff asked. "I know it's not Yabui because he is the one who first discovered it and you don't know any other doctors besides... besides..." Tiff thought for a second. "HEY! I KNOW! YOU'RE GONNA SEND SOME TO SUSIE!"
Escargoon was shocked by how Tiff got angry AND how she figured out that he was trying to give the sample to Susie, so he said sheepishly, "How did you-"
"NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT!" Tiff screamed angrily instead of answering Escargoon's question. "You absolutely know I don't want anything to do with her, which means I don't want her to know anything about this either! Now go to your bedroom and lie on your bed! I don't want to catch your cold!" She angrily stomped away.
"I'll get that sample from you," Escargoon said evilly and quietly so that Tiff would not be able to hear. "If that's the last thing I do..."

That night, Escargoon sneaked with a tied handkerchief over his nose and head, inside Tiff's room while she was sleeping. He quickly snatched the bacteria sample and quietly snuck out of the room. Then he rushed to the transporter and sent the bacteria sample to Susie.
Susie received the tube of the bacteria sample and placed it on her microscope machine. Not only can it view the micro-sized objects, but it can also detect its weaknesses and things that can kill them. "Hmm... interesting... this one has not been found before..." Susie said as her machine read that its origin is unknown. "But the machine wouldn't give up here..." Susie was right. She was definitely right. She is almost always right. The machine immediately detected that the substance called 'Muinrubu' would kill off the bacterias. "Perfect... I have just a thing..." Susie said to herself proudly as she opened her drawer, typed in "Muinrubu extracts", and the drawer where it was located opened to her.
"Hey, Susie!" Escargoon called in. "Did you find the treatment?"
"Yes indeed, sir Escargoon," Susie said. "But the thing is, I need to duplicated it. Gotta wait for a moment." She put the bottle of extract into her duplicating machine, and she created at least 100 of them and sent them all to Escargoon.
"Whoa, do I have to drink them all?" Escargoon asked.
"Oh no, you gotta share them with citizens," Susie said. "They're sick too, I can't let them be."
"But-"
"Now, sir Escargoon, don't be selfish," Susie said. "Besides, even if you're cured there is still a possibility that you'll catch it again. There must be zero who are infected with it so that they're 100% safe, no?"
"I guess you're right," Escargoon said as he carried the tray of 100 small bottles of the extract.
"HEY! ESCARGOON FOUND THE TREATMENT!" Tiff said as she burst into the room with diagnosed cappies. "AND HE'S GONNA TAKE THEM ALL FOR HIMSELF!"
"HUH?!" Escargoon yelped. "How did you-"
"See, I knew you'd sneak into my room and steal the bacteria sample!" Tiff said. "So I pretended to fall asleep and recruit the people!"
"Well, that's my cue," Susie said as she disconnected.
"CHARGE!" Mayor Len Blustergas screamed and everyone ran towards Escargoon.
"WAIT WAIT HOLD ON!" Escagood yelped. "I have enough for all of you! We can all share!"
Then they peacefully got a bottle each and were completely cured from the unknown disease they were suffering from.
The next day, everything opened once again, but Tuggle had to wait for the groceries to restock.
"Whoever found the treatment deserves a price!" Mayor Len Blustergas said, staying with his wife and his grandkids.
"We can run around freely again!" The children happily screamed.
"Thankfully, I didn't have to close my store for a long time," Gengu said as he reopened his store.
"I predict whoever found the treatment is a good scientist," Mabel said in front of her orb.
Everyone but Tiff was happy about it. "No one realizes that it's Susie they're complimenting!"
"Calm down, at least we don't have to be quarantined anymore," Tuff said.
"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby jumped around in joy with the other children.
A/N: This COVID-19 has really caused much more fear that Ebola and Swine flu combined... Please, everyone, stay hydrated, wash your hands thoroughly, eat a healthy diet, and more importantly, stay calm and positive.
