Dedede's rant echoed throughout the castle. "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

His scream made Tiff irritated all the time. Her eyes reflexively rolled every time Dedede screamed, whether he was just ranting or screaming for Escargoon. "Geez. If he was to have a contest with a whale to see who screams louder, he would definitely win. I bet ALL of my money for that."

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby said.

"What if you lose?" Tuff asked.

"Poyo?" Kirby said.

"Well, I already spent almost all of it buying new books yesterday," Tiff said. "And I don't get my allowance until next month."

"How much do you have?" Tuff asked.

"Um..." Tiff looked into her wallet. "3-D-bills."

"Wow..." Tuff said.

"ESCARGOOOOOOOON! YOU DIRTY SLIME!!!" Dedede screamed in Escargoon's ears.

"Stop screaming in my ears sire! I can hear..." Escargoon said but he realized something was wrong.. "Ah... ah... I can't hear... oh no... I'm deaf... NO, NO I'M DEAF!! I CAN'T HEAR MYSELF ANYMORE!!!"

"Escargoon's deaf?" Tuff asked, and ran to the throne room.

"I'm surprised that it took years for Dedede's rant to make him deaf," Tiff said as she scowled. "Come on, let's go see what's really going on!" Tiff said as she ran out as Tuff and Kirby followed after her.

"Ahhhh.... ahhhhhh!" Escargoon panicked. "I can't hear anything!!!"

"Shut yo lies, slug bug!" Dedede scolded. "I'm sick of yo' lies!"

"I can't hear anything! I can't hear anything!" Escargoon panicked as he ran around the room.

"What is going on here?" Tiff asked.

"Dis fool is tryna ignore me by sayin' he's deaf!" Dedede ranted.

"Well, maybe he is!" Tiff yelled. "With your boisterous voice and your rotten breath, you sure made his eardrums decay!"

"Donchu-" Dedede was about to yell something at her.

Tiff covered her ears and said, "Ah! It wouldn't be just Escargoon's ears that decays! I'm out of here!" Tiff ran out of the room.

"Susie! Susie!" Escargoon called.

"Yes, sir Escargoon?" Haltmann appeared on the screen. "Susie will be taking two weeks off. What can I do for you today?"

"Listen, I don't know why you're here. I can't hear you so I don't know what you said, I'm deaf right now, thanks to that fat egotistic penguin!" Escargoon said. 

"Hush up, you slime bug!" Dedede screamed as he hammered him. Since Escargoon could not hear him, he had was not warned by his brain that the danger was coming, so the hammering felt even more painful this time. 

"Ow... it hurts more than usual..." Escargoon said. 

"Your majesty," Haltmann said. "You really need to tone it down a notch. You scream so loud that he's deaf! It's gonna take days to heal."

"Whatchu say?!" Dedede screamed.

"What is everyone saying here?" Escargoon asked. 

"Oh, yes," Haltmann said, and typed something on Susie's computer and showed it to him that said, "There is really nothing I can do. It takes days to heal. I'm afraid that I cannot help you."

"What?! Then what am I gonna do?!" Escargoon asked. He cried as he ran out, not being able to hear his own cry.

"Tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk. Poor sir Escargoon," Haltmann said as he made several 'tsk' sounds.

"So it's ma fault?!" Dedede asked.

Haltmann wanted to be really sassy with him, but he kept his calmness. Then he remembered that he needed to give Dedede something. Something that would make everyone's lives much easier and much more comfortable. "Um, your majesty, I'll send you something real quick, and I want you to eat it immediately," Haltmann said as he sent a small bottle of potion. 

"What is it?!" Dedede asked, but drank it anyway.

"It makes you silent for several days..." Haltmann as he chuckled.

Dedede mouthed, as his voice did not come out, "WHACHU SAY. YA MEAN I CAN'T SPEAK FOR DAYS?!"

"What's that, your majesty?" Haltmann asked as he rotated his head to his left and put and next to his right ear. "I can't hear you, hehe!"

"YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR DIS!!!" Dedede mouthed, his voice still not coming out.

"Buh-bye!" Haltmann disconnected. He was sitting in Susie's room the whole time when he was talking to Dedede and Escargoon. Susie was sitting out of the monitor vision. "I gave him the potion, Susie."

"Finally he's gonna shut up for several days," Susie said with a smirk. "I don't want you to end up getting a headache like mine, Mr. President."

"You smart sly girl," Haltmann said. "Makes me glad I made you my secretary."

"I'm honored, Mr. President," Susie said.

"Now, why don't you get some rest, dear?" Haltmann suggested. "I don't think we have to deal with the obese, egotistic penguin for a while."

"Sounds good to me," Susie agreed.

Escargoon bawled into his room's bed, which he couldn't hear. Tiff, who was next to him, was trying to make him feel better by patting him on the back. Kirby was... well... he was just standing there because he had no idea what was going on. Tuff was standing next to Kirby, hands behind the back of his head, not knowing what to do.

"I can't... I can't hear you... can you write for me...?" Escargoon asked in his tears.

"Is it that much?" Tuff asked.

"Poyo?" Kirby asked.

Tiff had a marker that had an eraser on the other side. She erased the last sentence and wrote: "What did Dedede do to you to make you deaf?" 

"That mean old penguin..." Escargoon sniffed. "I forget to... dust one part of his room... and he screamed in my ears..."

"Poyo..." Kirby said, sympathizing him.

"Wow, that's messed up," Tuff said.

"Man, that's horrible!" Tiff said as she wrote something on the board. She showed the board that says: "Do you want to visit Yabui? He might know what to do."

"What?! No!" Escargoon rejected. "I trust him less than I trust you!"

Tiff wrote: "He just cannot do the shots! He might treat your ears well."

"Hey, now you remind me," Escargoon said. "That's actually very true!" 

Tiff wrote: "Let's go. I'll go with you."

"I'll come along!" Tuff said.

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby cheered.

"Yeah!" Escargoon cheered.

"Come on, Tuff, come on, Kirby!" Tiff said.

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby cheered for another adventure.

Dedede was running around the castle, silently screaming and panicking. His silent scream was, "GAAAAHHHHHH! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! SOMEBODY HELP MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! SOOOOOOOOMEBOOOOOOOOOODYYYYYYYYYYY HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! I CAN'T SPEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAK!!!!!" 

"Why is his majesty just running around?" Lady Like asked her husband.

"I am not sure," Sir Ebrum said.

"Hello," Meta Knight said from behind. 

"Oh! Sir Meta Knight!" Lady Like exclaimed as she jumped.

"You do surprise us, just like Tiff said," Sir Ebrum said.

"He lost his voice," Meta Knight explained. 

"Oh! That's well!" Sir Ebrum was so delighted for a second. "Wait... no, I should not say that. What happened to him?" Sir Ebrum tried to sound as if he was concerned about Dedede losing his voice.

"HELP! SOMEBODY HELP!" While Dedede was screaming, he saw Sir Ebrum and Lady Like standing in the middle of the hall who were watching him running around silently the whole time. "EBRUM!!! YA GOTTA HELP ME!!!"

Sir Ebrum said as he covered his nose. "Your majesty, I cannot hear you and please don't come that close your silence does not mean cure of halitosis."

"What happened to your voice, your majesty?" Lady Like asked.

"IT'S GONE! IT'S GONE! HALTMANN TOOK MY VOICE AWAY FROM ME!!!" Dedede bellowed silently. 

"Your majesty, you gotta slow down! I can't read your lips! Slow down or can you write it for us?" Sir Ebrum said.

"Write?? I dunno how tuh write!" Dedede mouthed.

"Sire, please don't tell me you don't know how to write..." Sir Ebrum said. Even though he couldn't read his mouth, he still had a strong intuition, mainly because he had spent almost half of his life serving for Dedede. 

"Whachu want meh to do if I can't write?" Dedede asked.

"Sire, if you can't write, there is no way I cannot help you," Sir Ebrum. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to fill out the paperwork that you make me work on for a day when the amount is something I can get done in several days."

"Later, your majesty," Lady Like bid farewell to Dedede and followed after her husband.

"Why isn't anyone helping me??!!" Dedede got down on the floor and threw a tantrum as he swung his arms and feet around.

"When will he completely heal?" Tiff asked Yabui about his conditions.

"If you let me apply the lotion on him, it will take few hours for him to heal, otherwise, it'll take few days," Yabui answered. "But the lotion is not that effective. After applying it, you'll be able to hear for an hour or so few hours applying it, but then you'll go deaf again after an hour." Tiff wrote the whole thing on the board and showed it to Escargoon. 

"Well, give it to me anyways!" Escargoon said. "But I don't understand. Haltmann said that there's no other way but to let the days pass and I can hear again."

"Haltmann??!!" TIff asked. "You were being helped by him?!"

"What?! I can't hear you!" Escargoon said. 

Without answering, Tiff left as she stormed out, taking the board and marker with her. Tuff and Kirby followed along with her. 

"Hey! Come back! Come ba-hack!" Escargoon ran after her as he cried.

"What is going on here?" Yabui asked himself as he scratched his head with one of his index fingers.

Tiff did not help Escargoon since then. Escargoon was angry at everyone: Dedede for making him deaf, Tiff for not helping him and not knowing why, and everyone because he was angry at those two. "Time for revenge!" Escargoon said to himself that he couldn't hear. He went to the throne room, check to see if Dedede was there, and when he realized that it was safe, he contacted Haltmann.

"Yes, sir Escargoon?" Haltmann asked.

Although Escargoon could not hear, he knew that Haltmann was greeting him because he moved his mouth in a short amount of time. "I want something that will make his majesty... no, EVERYONE deaf!" Escargoon said as he swore revenge on every single people who either made him deaf or turned their back on him.

"I'm sure we have just a thing," Haltmann said. He sent a robot over. "Allow me to introduce to you, FM-4-U! Just a radio that makes such loud sound and will make everyone deaf when they get close to it! Not that you would know since you're deaf right now."

"Thanks! What does it do?" Escargoon asked. Haltmann grabbed a piece of paper and pen and wrote it down for him and stuck it on the monitor so that Escargoon can read it. "Oh, I see! Thank you!"

"Bye!" Haltmann did not say long goodbye since Escargoon was deaf. Escargoon then evilly snickered and activated FM-4-U. It started to play loud music. Escargoon couldn't hear but he was able to feel the vibration. FM-4-U exited the room. Waddle Dees were all freaking out as they ran away from the sound.

"What is going on here?!" Waddle Doo screamed as he ran along with Waddle Dees.

"Oh my goodness what horrible noise!" Lady Like groaned as she covered her ears.

"Somebody turn the sound off!" Sir Ebrum said, even though he did not know where the sound was coming from. 

"Kirby! Help!" Tiff said. Kirby was also trying to not be deaf by the noise.

"What's going on?!" Dedede asked, whose voice was still silent. When FM-4-U got near Dedede, Dedede hammered it away, all the way to Cappy Town. "Take that!" Dedede screamed, whose voice was still not heard. 

Now that the noise was gone, they all exited the room to see what was going on. "Your majesty? What happened?" Sir Ebrum asked. "Oh wait, you can't speak. Sorry!"

"What?! I can't hear you!" Dedede said. "What-... wha... I can't hear me! Gahhhhhhhhh!"

"He's deaf now," Tiff said as she shook her head as she saw Dedede panic. Even though she did not hear what Dedede said, she was able to figure it out by how much he's panicking. 

Meanwhile, FM-4-U was walking along Cappy Town, exerting its loud music on. Every citizen of Cappy Town we covering their ears, screaming and running away from FM-4-U, also known as Dedede's castle. However, FM-4-U was following where all the cappies were heading to. 

"Escargoon! What have you done?!" Tiff screamed at Escargoon.

"What was that? I can't hear you!" Escargoon taunted and stuck his tongue out.

"You better put that tongue back in before I chop it off," Meta Knight threatened, who jumped in front of him out of nowhere.

"Gahh! You jump in front of me even when I'm deaf!" Escargoon jumped and fell backward. "What did you say to me?"

"Forget it," Meta Knight said as he walked away. Escargoon did not know if he spoke or not since his face was covered with a mask. 

Everyone in the castle heard citizens of Cappy Town entering the castle ground, including FM-4-U. Meta Knight quickly dived to turn the sound off of FM-4-U and then slashed it. But then, after he slashed it, there were now two FM-4-U now. "Kirby!" Meta Knight called as he threw one to Kirby. Kirby inhaled it and turned into Mic Kirby. 

"OH NO! EVERYONE ESCAPE!" Tiff ordered and everyone escaped the palace, except Escargoon and Dedede. 

"POYO POYO POYO POYO!!! POYA!!!! POYA!!!! POYO POYO PAYAIIIIII!" Kirby sang so loudly and horrendously that it destroyed the remaining FM-4-U. His loud voice did not bother Escargoon and Dedede until he started to break down some parts of the castle. "POYO POYO PO-YO POY-O!!! POYO POYOYOYOYO!! PAYAYAYAY!"
