"Happy Birthday, dad!" Tiff and Tuff said to Sir Ebrum, their father.

"Happy Birthday, dear!" Lady Like said to Sir Ebrum, her husband.

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby said to Sir Ebrum.

"Thank you, all of you!" Sir Ebrum replied happily.

"Here's for you, dear," Lady Like said as she gave him a present.

"Thank you, my dear," Sir Ebrum replied as he took the present.

"For you dad, Tuff and I pooled money to buy this for you," Tiff said as she handed him a present.

"Thank you, kids," Sir Ebrum warmly smiled as he took the present.

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby said as he handed the present he prepared himself.

"Wow, thank you, Kirby!"Sir Ebrum thanked as he took the present.

"Ah-ha! I caught y'all red-handed!" Dedede exclaimed as he, Escargoon, and Waddle Dees burst in.

"What misunderstanding do you have now?" Tiff asked. She was not even surprised. "If you're thinking that we're planning to throw you out of the castle, although I would, we were not doing that. Today is my dad's birthday and we're celebrating."

"Birthday?" Dedede asked.

"We were just saying happy birthday to him," Tuff replied sassily.

"What's birthday?!" Dedede asked.

"Oh sire, that's the day you were born," Escargoon explained. "On birthday, people eat special food and receive gifts to celebrate the day they were born as they are now a year older."

"What about ma birthday?!" Dedede asked.

"How are we supposed to know your birthday if you never told us?! And even if we did, we wouldn't celebrate it!" Tiff said.

"Does dis mean I ain't gettin' a gift?" Dedede whispered into Escargoon's ears.

"Sire I don't think anyone knows your birthday," Escargoon said. "Even I don't know when your birthday is."

"Well then figure it out now!" Dedede demanded. "I wanna know when ma birthday is by the time this day is over!"

"Ah! Yes, sire! Come along, squirts!" Escargoon and Waddle Dees all exited the room.

"If he finds when ma birthday is, I'm gonna make y'all get meh a present!" Dedede said.

"Why should we?! You never appreciated anything you got!" Tiff said.

"If y'all don't listen, I will forbid celebrating a birthday in Dreamland!" Dedede screamed and stormed out of the room.

"Geez, what a jerk," Tiff said.

"Poyo?" Kirby said.

"By the way, when is Kirby's birthday?" Tuff asked.

"I cannot say for sure, but let's just say his anniversary is his birthday," Tiff said. "That's the day he came into our lives."

"That's true," Tuff said.

"Get prepared for your third anniversary, Kirby!" Tiff said. "We have a very special things for you!"

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby cheered proudly.

The next morning came with a bright, joyful sunrise. Dedede walked around Cappy Town, alone. He made Escargoon find his birthday since he wasn't able to find it yesterday, and he was too lazy to drive himself. As he looked around, he saw some kids celebrating their birthday with their family and friends.

"Happy Birthday!" "Here's our presents!" "Come on, open it!" "Oh I always wanted this!" The children were chatting and laughing happily as they were celebrating their friend's birthday, and her parents had a great smile across their faces.

"Hmmm..." Dedede said as he now wanted to celebrate his birthday. He wanted to know and celebrate it so badly. 

As he walked a bit more, he stopped by Kawasaki's place to get a cup of tea or something. As he sat down and waited for Kawasaki to take his order, he saw a family sitting next to him and celebrating the mother's birthday. "Happy birthday, dear!" "Happy birthday, mom!" "Thank you, dear, thank you, son!" 

Dedede started to be even more jealous. Man, I wanna know ma birthday! Dedede thought.

"Hello, sire! I'm sorry I only serve desserts on four days a week unless it's a special occasion! What would you like?" Kawasaki walked over to Dedede, explained, and asked.

"I want me some tea!" Dedede said. 

"Yes, your majesty!" Kawasaki said and went back in the kitchen.

Another family came in. "Kawasaki! Take our order please!"

"One second!" Kawasaki finished fixing black tea to Dedede and took their order. "Okay, what would you like?"

"Can we have a whole fruit cake? It's my son's birthday today!" The father said.

"Right on!" Kawasaki said and started to bake. 

Dedede pretended that he was not jealous of any of the family. He didn't want to be laughed at for not knowing his own birthday. He quickly finished his tea, paid for it, and left. "Wow, the King did not complain about the tea and actually paid the right amount!" Kawasaki was impressed by the King's behavior.

Usually, when it comes to a situation like this when everyone's having fun except him, Dedede would go full-on destructive mode, but he did not feel like being angry. He stuck his hand in his pocket and walked around sadly. He noticed that the playground was empty since it was time for many cappies to eat lunch. He sadly sat on the swing alone and swung low and slow. 

"Poyo, poyo, poyo, poyo, poyo~" Kirby chanted as he walked towards the playground with Meta Knight. Earlier, Meta Knight asked Tiff if he can go for a walk with Kirby, which she agreed. 

"It is nice to have some fresh air, isn't it Kirby?" Meta Knight asked.

"Poyo!" Kirby said. Then he asked Meta Knight when his birthday is. "Poyo, poyo?"

"Hm? Birthday? Well... I don't know..." Meta Knight answered.

"Poyo?" Kirby asked him why. 

"I... uh... I never celebrated it... for the past 50,000 years..." Meta Knight replied. 

Here is why Meta Knight never celebrated his birthday:
He knows when his birthday is; his birthday was when Nightmare Enterprises first invaded and murdered half of his friends during the war. On the first day of the war, on his birthday, half of his friends and comrades were murdered. As the war continued, more and more died, until he was the only one surviving. He never wanted to celebrate his birthday ever since.

He didn't want to tell this to Kirby. They both continued to walk to the playground, and they both noticed Dedede sitting on the swing all alone. 

"Poyo?" Kirby asked.

"Your majesty?" Meta Knight called.

"Oh, it's you two," Dedede said sadly.

"What are you doing out here?" Meta Knight asked.

"Poyo?" Kirby also asked.

"I wanna be alone! Scram!" Dedede demanded.

This is a very odd situation, Meta Knight thought. "Yes sire, we'll give you your privacy. Let's go somewhere else, Kirby."

"Poyo," Kirby replied. Then they both walked out of the playground area. Dedede continued to slowly swing.

"I can't stand this! I need to talk to the expert!" Escargoon flipped the paper files and ran into the throne room. He quickly connected to Susie.

"Well hello there, sir Escargoon," Susie greeted. "What can I do for you today?"

"Is there a machine that can find someone's birthday?" Escargoon pleaded.

"Hmm..." Susie thought. "Depends, whose birthday would you like to find out?"

"His majesty," Escargoon replied.

"What? He never told you?" Susie asked. "And doesn't he get mad for not knowing his birthday and not throwing him a special party of some sort?"

"He doesn't even know his birthday," Escargoon replied.

Susie let out a snort. "Seriously?" Susie asked in a laughing voice.

"Yeah, yeah..." Escargoon said. 

"Well, remember that I have a sample of his DNA?" Susie started. "I can know exactly when he was born with that DNA."

"Oh, that would be great!" Escargoon pleaded.

"Well, please give me one minute," Susie said. "Hm hm hm~ Mm hm hm hm~" Susie hummed as she calculated the results of Dedede's DNA. "Well, according to the calculation, his birthday is... today."

"Oh great! I need to tell him!" Escargoon said. "Thank you! Love you!" Then Escargoon realized what he just said. Susie looked at him as if he was weird. "Don't get me wrong! I'm used to talking to my mommy and I always tell her that I love her! I don't love you! Don't get me wrong! Forget what I said! Bye!"

"Okay..." Susie said, very creeped out. "Bye..." She disconnected. "Blech... Is there a forgetting machine..." She looked around. "Ah, here it is! But before I do so..." She wrote down on her notebook 'Told Dedede's birthday to sir Escargoon' and shot herself with the forgetting machine. "Hey... what was I just doing?" She looked at her notebook. "Okay, I told him when Dedede's birthday is... why did I want to forget that? ...Did I not wanted to know his birthday? I must be hating him too much..."

"How... but how..." Escargoon said. "Oh whatever, yo Waddle Dees! Bring his majesty! On the double!"

Dedede was still swinging on his swing as he heard a lot of celebration going on in Cappy Town to celebrate someone's birthday. His jealousy built even more and more and more and started to turn into anger. Right when he started to grunt and shiver in anger, Waddle Dees arrived in front of him. "Whachu want, ya li'l good for nothing bums?!" Dedede screamed at them. Waddle Dees, without moving any of their face muscle, carried Dedede and took him to the castle. "Hey! Let go of me ya bums! Let go of meh! I wanna be alone!" Dedede screamed as Waddle Dees carried him to the castle. Of course, they did not drop King Dedede on the way as they wanted Escargoon to tell him the good news. 

"Oh, sire! Here you are!" Escargoon said as Waddle Dees brought Dedede in front of him. "Good news, sire! Your birthday is today! We can celebrate it today!"

"What? Really?!" Dedede asked with sparkles in his eyes.

"Okay, don't look at me like that," Escargoon said. "That's much creepier."

"Let's get ma birthday par-tay prepared!" Dedede excitedly said as he ran to his throne room. 

"I never knew he would be this excited..." Escargoon said.

Dedede quickly connected to Susie. "Hello, your majesty, what can I do for you today?"

"I want me a buffet and a birthday cake fo' ma birthday today! Pronto!" Dedede demanded.

"Oh, your birthday is today..." Susie said. Why did I want to forget his birthday?  Susie thought. "So you want me to prepare you a buffet and a birthday cake?"

"Yes! Pronto!" Dedede said. "I want ma birthday to be good!"

"All right," Susie said. "I'll send you in about an hour or so. There will be a surprise there also~" Surprise attack to Kirby. That pink pip squeak is gonna get it this time!

"Yeah! Gotta announce it to the whole town!" Dedede said.

"This is channel D!D!D!" Escargoon's voice came out on every television. "Today is King Dedede's birthday, and we invite you to his majesty's birthday!" Escargoon announced.

"Go to his birthday?" Mayor asked.

"Do we have to attend? This is out of nowhere!" Hana added.

"It would be nice if y'all bring me a present too!" Dedede said.

"Present? For him?" Kawasaki said.

"He's out of his mind," Gus said.

"Who would bring him anything?" Buttercup said.

"I'd rather spend the money to eat at Kawasaki's," Chief Bookem said.

"Come at 5 pm! Y'all will have a buffet and cake and everything!" Dedede said.

"Celebrate his birthday? Give him a present?" Tiff asked. "What if we fail again? He always acts so bad on these types of days. I wonder what he's up to..." 

"Poyo, poyo!" All Kirby wanted was the food. 

"I think Kirby wants to go," Tuff said as he heard Kirby cheered. 

"Well..." Tiff said. "I need to go with Kirby."

"I will too," Meta Knight said, hanging upside down like a bat.

"Meta Knight? What are you doing here?" Tiff asked.

"Something's suspicious," Meta Knight said. "He didn't know his birthday earlier, and I believe he ordered something from Haltmann Works Company. He's that excited every time he orders something from that psychopathic maniac."

"Hmm..." Tiff said as she crossed her arm.

Waddle Dees finished preparing the buffet and a birthday cake that Susie sent over. The cake was eight stories tall. "Heh-heh-heh! I can't wait for all the cappies to come!" Dedede said.

"I highly doubt that," Escargoon said under his breath.

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby was the first one to attend. He came with a large box with ribbon tied to it.

"Kirby! Did ya come to celebrate ma birthday?!" Dedede asked.

"Poyo!" Kirby answered.

"Is dat fo' me?" Dedede asked.

"Poyo!" Kirby nodded.

"Fo' li'l pink fluff, you sure is pure blue!" Dedede said. Wait a minute, did he get me empty watermelon again?! He thought.

"Poyo!" Kirby opened the box for Dedede, presenting him full watermelon this time.

"Hey~! Ya actually got me a whole watermelon! All fo' me!" Dedede said.

"Wow, congrats, sire!" Escargoon said. 

After seeing Kirby attend with a genuine gift, cappies decided to attend since it was Kirby. More and more cappies started to leave their houses with small presents in their hands. While Kirby was having fun in the buffet and helping himself with a slice of cake, something popped up from the top of the cake, and buffet. Two monsters popped out to intimidate Kirby. "Poyo!" Kirby shrieked as two monsters targeted Kirby. 

"Wait! What the heck?!" Dedede also freaked out.

"Was that the surprise Susie was talking about?" Escargoon asked.

"The surprise?!" Dedede asked.

Tiff, Tuff, and Meta Knight arrived at the scene and saw Kirby being targeted by two monsters. One was a swinging cake knife, and the other one was a swinging buffet pan. 

"I knew they were up to something," Meta Knight said.

"Kirby! Suck them up!" Tiff said. Kirby took the order and they resisted. By the time, a lot of cappies arrived at the castle to celebrate Dedede's birthday, now they were an audience of Kirby fighting monsters. The knife and pan were inhaled into Kirby and transformed into Cook Kirby.

"Yeah! Go, cook Kirby!" Tuff cheered.

Kirby creamed those monsters in no time as he sliced one monster in half and flattened one monster. Everyone cheered as Kirby defeated the monsters. 

"Good thing we came!" Professor Curio said.

"Yeah! That was an epic fight!" Chief Bookem said.

"Let's give Kirby a cheer!" Mayor said, and they all cheered for Kirby. 

"Looks like Kirby receives the cheer even if it's his majesty's birthday," Escargoon said.

"Gahh! It ain't fair!" Dedede threw a tantrum. 

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby cheered as everyone was cheering for him.
