"Sire, please be ready!" Escargoon panicked. "That inventor is going to be here less than ten minutes!"

"Don't you pressure me, slime face!" Dedede said.

"Why don't you just not invite anyone anymore if you're going to be this irresponsible with your guests?" Escargoon suggested.

"Let Meta Knight take care of the rest then! See if I care!" Dedede said.

Meta Knight is already prepared for everything. He was waiting at the guest arrival area, the same place where they greeted Princess Rona. Kirby, Tiff, Tuff, Sir Ebrum, Lady Like, Waddle Doo, and Waddle Dees were already there. 

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby always loved guests.

"I wonder how the inventor will be like," Sir Ebrum said.

"By the way, what does he want to discuss about?" Tiff asked.

"He wants to introduce his new invention to Dreamland," Sir Ebrum replied.

"I wonder what that would be," Tuff said.

"I hope it is good," Lady Like said.

Just then, a moderate looking spaceship has arrived. It carefully landed on the spaceship landing area. A man in fresh white lab coat came out of the spaceship. "Greetings, I am the inventor. You must be the king," the inventor said as he referred to Sir Ebrum.

"Oh, no no!" Sir Ebrum said. "I'm just a prime minister!"

"My apologies, sir," the inventor apologized. "Where is the king may I ask?"

"He's not here right now, he's running a little late," Sir Ebrum replied. 

"Well, I'll wait until he comes," the inventor said.

"Sorry about everything," Tiff said. 

"Make way! His majesty is coming!" Escargoon said.

Dedede cleared his throat and walked modestly towards the inventor. 

"Why is he walking like that? He never walked that formally," Tiff said.

"Greeting, Mr. Inventor," Dedede said formally. "I am the King of Dreamland."

"Hello, I am inventor Linker," the inventor replied. "Also, please be yourself. I know your personality."

"I beg your pardon?" Dedede asked.

"Sire, your right hand man told me about your personality," Linker replied.

"What?!" Dedede asked and whacked Escargoon's head with his mallet. "Ya didn't need to tell everything, ya slug face!"

"Oh? Is he the right hand man?" Linker asked. "I thought it was someone else. Someone else with large cape and a large mask."

"I don't have a servant who has large cape and large mask!" Dedede said as Meta Knight quietly walked away. Dedede is probably unaware of the fact that Meta Knight was the one who told him all the information because in Dedede's dictionary, Meta Knight isn't large.

"Anyways," Linker continued. "I have supplies of my new invention. I call it, smartphone!"

"Smartphone? What does it do?" Dedede asked.

"You can call, take a picture, send text messages, and do many things!" Linker explained. "It's like a mini computer."

"Lemme see!" Dedede said. He kept tapping on the screen. "How do you turn dis thing on?!"

"Here's the instructor, your majesty," Linker replied as he handed the instruction manual. "I shall be off. Have fun with this invention. Just tell me if you have any other problems. Byebye~" He left the box full of small boxes with smartphones and left the planet with his spaceship.

"Well, that was a short meeting," Escargoon said.

"Hey~! This is fun! Yo, Escargoon! Distribute this to people in Cappy Town!" Dedede demanded and walked into his room to spend time with his new smartphone. 

Escargoon looked at the pile of smartphones and sighed with frustration. "This is gonna take days to distribute..."

"Would you like our help, Escargoon?" Sir Ebrum offered.

"We can help," Tiff said.

"Poyo!" Kirby said. 

"That would be good," Escargoon said. "Waddle Dees! King's order! Distribute all the smartphones to citizens of Cappy Town!"

All Waddle Dees came to distribute the smartphones to everyone in Cappy Town. Sir Ebrum, Tiff, and Kirby also helped. By evening, everyone had a smartphone for themselves. Younger cappies were able to learn how to operate it faster than older cappies. 

"Wow! This is so cool!" Iroo said as he downloaded bunch of games on his phone.

"Hey, this is really nice!" Spikehead said as he read comics on his phone.

"I like this!" Honey said as she looked at the images of dolls.

"Wow, this is pretty useful," Tiff said as she used the phone for research.

"Heh," Tuff snickered as he texted Iroo, Honey, and Spikehead.

But, of course, adults were still able to learn how to use it.

"Ooh, this is pretty neat!" Mayor said as he took pictures of his office.

"This certainly is a great invention!" Chief Bookem said as he checked the map of Cappy Town.

"Wow! This can make my business better!" Kawasaki said as he looked up a recipe.

"I predict this smartphone will be a hit," Mabel said as she read today's fortune.

Everyone was having fun with their new smartphone as they tapped around with them, texting to others, calling, and taking pictures and sharing them.

However, later on, Tiff started to see this as a problem. The playground was full of children, only on their phone, not playing with slides or swings or anything. All the cappies were walking around with their phone, bumping, tripping, and falling because they weren't paying attention to what was in front of them.

The biggest problem was caused by Escargoon. He went on his phone to check his saved photos for few seconds and he bumped into a tree. "Oooohhh..." Escargoon and Dedede groaned in pain.

"Why donchu pay attention to da road?!" Dedede screamed at Escargoon.

"Tsk tsk tsk..." Tiff tsked as she watched all the mess caused by smartphones. "This is getting very serious..." Tiff walked with concern. 

"Poyo, poyo, poyo, poyo, poyo~" Kirby chanted as he skipped around Cappy Town. He seemed to be only one who was not holding a smartphone. 

"Kirby, you're not carrying a smarphone," Tiff said.

"Poyo," Kirby replied. 

"Kirby, just look at everyone! It's all mess!" Tiff said.

"Poyo?" Kirby said.

"Let's go to the castle of anyone else is that addicted to smartphones," Tiff said.

"Poyo," Kirby agreed.

When Tiff and Kirby looked around, Waddle Dees were walking around with a phone, bumping against the wall or each other, rolling off against each other or the wall, some Waddle Dees even tripped over. Tiff shook her head as she walked around. She even saw her family members walking around with their hands and eyes glued to their smartphone screens. Tuff even had earphones stuck in his ear.

"Mom! Dad! Tuff!" Tiff screamed.

"Oh my! Tiff you scared me!" Sir Ebrum said.

"What's the matter dear?" Lady Like asked.

"You know walking around like that is dangerous!" Tiff said.

"Excuse us, Tiff, we have important things to do," Lady Like said.

"Yes, I must send this message," Sir Ebrum said.

Tuff was just walking away, listening to a loud music that he couldn't hear Tiff.

"Tuff, you gotta be careful! Tuff! TUFF!" Tiff scolded. "Oh geeez... Oh, I hope Meta Knight isn't... Meta Knight!" She ran to Meta Knight's room.

"Poyo-!" Kirby ran after Tiff.

"Meta Knight!" Tiff said as she bursted into his room.

"Hello," Meta Knight greeted. He wasn't holding a cell phone.

"Oh, thank goodness, you're not addicted to your phone," Tiff said with relief.

"I am not, but I have to say it is still useful," Meta Knight admitted.

"But everyone is carrying around it twenty-four-seven!" Tiff said.

"Yes, that is a problem," Meta Knight said. "It's the same thing when television was introduced to them."

"Oh my, not that again," Tiff said.

"So, do you not use it at all?" Meta Knight asked.

"I only use it when I'm doing research," Tiff said. "But I'm not that obsessed with it unlike other everyone else who has their eyes down on their screen all the time."

"I see," Meta Knight said. Then he turned to Kirby and asked, "What about you, Kirby?"

"Poyo," Kirby replied. 

"I see. You don't find it that entertaining," Meta Knight said.

"Poyo," Kirby confirmed.

"Seems like we are the only three who are not addicted to smartphones," Tiff said.

"Five," Meta Knight corrected. "Sword Knight and Blade Knight don't even use smartphone."

"I think that's fine," Tiff said. "I'm not saying it's bad to use smartphone, but they're using them too much to the point that they're using it while walking, moving, working, and even driving! They're keep bumping into things or others, or they getting into other accidents like Escargoon! He was looking at his phone while driving and he hit the car into the tree in the middle of Cappy Town!"

"Well, that is a big problem," Meta Knight said.

"We need to figure out a way so that they can limit their usage of smartphones," Tiff said.

"We shall figure out some way," Meta Knight agreed.

"Poyo!" Kirby was in it too.

"This way," Meta Knight led Kirby and Tiff into his secret room located underground of the castle.

"Wow, I never knew you set up so many underground rooms in this castle without letting Dedede know," Tiff said, impressed.

"Poyo, poyo~!" Kirby chanted as he went down the stairs after Meta Knight.

"Here," Meta Knight said as he opened the room where they saw bunch of computers. 

"Whoa," Tiff breathed in amazement.

"Poyo," Kirby also breathed in amazement.

Meta Knight chuckled quietly as he heard Kirby's amazement. He activated the computer to show Tiff and Kirby, to show them the programs that he can control... and to impress Kirby. "With this device, I can limit their smartphone usage."

"Cool!" "Poyo!" Tiff and Kirby exclaimed.

"Now if we just activate this... and then this... then this..." Meta Knight said as he activated the programs to hack into every devices in Cappy Town. "And finally... this! We have deactivated their smartphones. They won't be able to use it."

"Really?" Tiff asked.

"Let's see," Meta Knight said as he exited the room, let Kirby and Tiff out, and went back up to see the town. Surely, it was a chaos. Everyone was panicking because their smartphones won't turn on. 

"NO! WHAT HAPPENED TO MY PHONE!" "IT WON'T TURN ON!" "WHAT IS GOING ON?!" "NOOOO!" "WAHHHHH!" Cappies were screaming, crying, panciking with their inactive smartphones. They were screaming so bad that they were able to hear it within the castle wall. 

"Oh my..." Tiff said as she looked and listened to the chaos.

"Oi..." Meta Knight groaned.

"ESCARGOON! MA PHONE'S NOT WORKIN!'" Dedede's rant was the loudest they were able to hear.

"MY PHONE'S NOT WORKING EITHER SIRE!" Escargoon was panicking bad too. As Meta Knight, Tiff, and Kirby looked around, the saw Waddle Dees silently panicking over their inactive smartphones.

Dedede went into throne room to talk to Susie about his phone problem. "What can I help you with, your majesty?" Susie asked.

"HELP! MA SMARTPHONE'S NOT WORKIN'!" Dedede panicked. It was the most desperate tone that Susie ever heard.

"Smartphone? One that Linker made?" Susie asked.

"Yes! Dat! Help meh!" Dedede begged.

"Allow me to see it, your majesty," Susie said. Dedede sent it over so that Susie can see it. "Let's see... hmm... oh, your majesty, it's hacked by super computer."

"What's dat?! Hacked?!" Dedede asked.

"What a strong program to block the usage of it..." Susie said. 

"And I just got a report that everyone can't use it," Escargoon informed.

"Wow..." Susie said as she examined it even deeper. "Such atrocious program... especially if it's every smartphones. Allow me to send you a monster to scan where the computer is and destroy it. That's the only way."

"Yes!" Dedede approved. 

Susie immediately sent it over. "I don't have a name for it, but let's just refer it as E-Scanner 305. Just press the green button and let it take care of it. Ddo mannayo~" She disconnected.

Dedede pressed the green button, it started to activate, and started locate the computer where the program was downloaded. "Go find it!" Dedede said as it went outside his throne room.

Meta Knight sensed a large volt skimming through his brain. "Something's up..." Meta Knight said.

"What?" Tiff asked.

"Tiff! Kirby! This way!" Meta Knight said. Meta Knight ran where the sensation came from. Tiff and Kirby ran after him. "Over there!" He caught the robot in his sight. 

"Kirby! Go get it!" Tiff said.

"Poyo!" Kirby said as he ran towards it. The robot noticed Kirby and let out some sparks. Kirby was mature enough now to act quickly and inhale the attack, turning himself into Spark Kirby.

"He is now Spark Kirby!" Meta Knight announced.

Kirby used different method this time: he first initiated spark barrier to absorb the incoming attacks. The robot even tried to hammer down Kirby, but Kirby dodged it quickly. The robot was smart enough that it realized that spark attack won't work on him, so it kept hammering down. Kirby let out the spark with spark wave. By then, it was strong enough to let out full force to dissemble the parts of the robot. 

"Kirby did it!" Tiff cheered.

"Kirby, you are becoming much wiser," Meta Knight said as his eyes turned blue. "You have indeed grown for two and half years since you have awoken. I cannot wait to see what other remarkable achievements you will make."

In two months, everyone forgot about smartphones and maintained their life. No one was tripping and falling, Escargoon didn't get into any further accidents, and kids were running and playing in the playground, with Kirby.

"Poyo!" Kirby cheered as he played in the field.
