Episode 26: Dedede-stroying Dedede-pression
"Sire..." Escargoon said as he shook Dedede, who showed his back, crouching like someone who is emotionally scarred. "You have to get up, your majesty. You can't just lie on the bed all day long."
"I feel sad about everything! I wanna be alone!" Dedede screamed as he rolled around his bed, still crouching like a really sad person.
"You big baby," Escargoon said as he shook his head. "You've been like that for the last three days. You gotta try to do something that would make you feel better."
"Well what am I supposed to do?!" Dedede asked. "I don't know why I'm depressed!"
"Well, I'll just leave you alone! I don't know what to do anymore!" Escargoon stormed out.
Dedede just rolled around his bed crouching. He didn't feel like being angry. He was just... sad... for no reason.
********
His depression lasted for days now. Everyone in Cappy Town wondered why Dedede never visited the town for the last few days.
"The King sure never came out to Cappy Town for a long time," Mabel said.
"I wonder where the King is," Hana said.
"I haven't seen him for days," Buttercup said.
"What do you think what happened to him?" Iroo asked.
"We can't be so sure of the reason," Honey said.
"Last time, he was gone because he was too fat," Spikehead said.
"It's supposed to be good, isn't it?" Kawasaki asked.
"Yeah, but then this kind of stuff happens, he's usually up to something," Gengu said.
"But I don't think we can't just sit around and relax. He might be up to something bad," Tuggle said.
"Should we go ask someone in the castle like sir Ebrum and lady Like?" Samo asked.
"No, I think it's better for us to not check on the King," Chief Bookem.
"We don't know what's gonna happen to us when we go see him. We don't even know what he's up to right now," Mayor said.
********
"Wow, I seriously haven't seen Dedede these days," Tuff said as he walked around the castle with Tiff and Kirby.
"Yeah, it's almost been days. I don't know what happened to him," Tiff said.
"Poyo," Kirby said.
"Hello," Meta Knight greeted as he popped out of nowhere.
"Oh! Meta Knight! You scared us!" Tuff said as he flinched.
"We can never get used to that except Kirby," Tiff said as she flinched.
"Poyo," Kirby greeted Meta Knight, hiding is excitement to see him.
"I was just wondering what happened to the King," Meta Knight said. "So I came to ask you."
"Honestly, we're not sure ourselves either," Tuff said.
"Why don't we ask Escargoon?" Tiff suggested.
"Mm," Meta Knight nodded.
"Poyo!" Kirby agreed.
Just then Escargoon was walking in the hallway, who saw Tiff, Tuff, Meta Knight, and Kirby gathered around. "Hey! What are you guys doing there? I hope you guys are not talking behind my back!"
"Why would we talk behind your back?" Tuff asked.
"We just wanted to know what happened to Dedede," Tiff said. "Do you know what happened to him? Is he up to something bad?"
"Tell me about it!" Escargoon said. "He's been depressed for days and won't come out of bed, and don't want to eat proper food! He's been chewing on salty and sugary food on his bed for days now! And he won't listen to my advice!"
"Him? Depressed?" Tuff asked.
"Never thought that was possible," Tiff said.
"Hmm..." Meta Knight just stood there.
"Poyo?" Kirby doesn't' know the word 'depressed'.
"It means to be very unhappy for a long time," Meta Knight explained to Kirby.
"Poyo," Kirby replied understandingly.
"In that case, he would be depressed all the time since he is always angry about something," Tiff said in a bit of a joking manner.
"But is there anything we can do for him?" Tiff asked.
"Why would we want to help him, Tiff?" Tuff asked.
"Just because he's not our friend," Tiff explained. "That doesn't mean we should just let him suffer. Deep inside he really wants love. Since he never got the love, it's easy for him to be all moody and depressed sometimes."
"But he never cares about how we feel," Tuff said.
"Let's just give him a chance," Tiff said.
"We already gave him so much," Tuff said.
"Some people need more than usual," Tiff said. "Now there's gotta be something we can do..."

Dedede sadly walked in the throne room to watch television. However, no matter how funny his shows were, he was unable to bear a smile across his face. Not wanting to take it anymore, he connected to Susie.
"Bonjour, your majesty," Susie said. "Lucky for you, we have a lot of robots and monsters manufactured just now and you have more than enough choices to pick from."
"No..." Dedede said with an extremely sad voice. "I don't feel like ordering no monsters..."
Susie noticed Dedede's sad face and tone. "Uh... something wrong, your majesty?" Susie asked.
"I don't know..." Dedede replied. "I've been said for days... and I don't know why... I need help..." Dedede pleaded.
"Oh, I see," Susie said. Oh my... he seems less energetic than before, Susie thought. Is this depression? Susie thought for a moment. "Sire, I think this might be depression."
"I know..." Dedede replied. "I just wanna get this over with..."
Should I help him? I'm not a psychologist, Susie thought. Oh yes! "Sire, why don't I get you a mood stabilizing machine?"
"Moo- what machine?" Dedede asked.
"Mood sta-bi-li-zing machine," Susie pronounced it more slowly.
"What is that?" Dedede asked.
"It's to help you get out of your depression," Susie explained.
"Let me have it," Dedede said.
"Sure thing, your majesty," Susie said and sent the machine over to him right away. "It's simple to use. Just put that on your head, press the green button, and take a nap. Don't worry, your majesty. That sad feeling will go away after the nap."
"Thank you," Dedede said. "I'll pay you the money as soon as possible."
"No worries," Susie said. "Please take your time." She disconnected.
"Well, let's give it a shot," Dedede said as he went into his room, and put the machine on his head. He pressed the green button and lied down on his bed, and fell in to a deep, deep sleep.
********
"Are you sure this can work out?" Tuff asked.
"We never know unless we try," Tiff insisted.
"Let's just take this easy," Escargoon said.
"Poyo," Kirby said.
"..." Meta Knight just stayed with them though he played no part of the plan.
Escargoon gulped and slowly opened the door. "Your majesty...?" Escargoon called a bit quietly as he went in the room. Dedede was on his bed, sleeping with a metal hat around his head. "He's sleeping," Escargoon informed to Tiff, Tuff, Kirby, and Meta Knight. "It's weird. He has a metal cap thing on his head."
"Let's come back later then?" Tuff asked.
"We should come back later," Tiff said.
"Poyo," Kirby agreed.
"..." Meta Knight just stood there.
********
Dedede woke up the next morning. He woke with a energetic yawn and smacked his mouth. "That was a good shut-eye!" Dedede said as he took off the metal hat. "Hey~! I don't feel sad about anything anymo'! Heh-heh! Yo! Waddle Dees! My gut's grumblin'! Go get me some eggs and toasts fo' breakfast!"
Waddle Dee peeked in and nodded and went out. Few minutes later, Waddle Dees brought a tray with plates of eggs and toasts.
"Heh-heh-heh!" Dedede said as he swallowed his first mouthful. "Yo! Escargoon!" Dedede called.
"Sire!" Escargoon said as he entered. "Are you feeling okay?"
"I feel all better now! Now go clean ma throne room!" Dedede demanded.
"Uh, yes, your majesty," Escargoon said. He was glad yet confused. "It is good thing that his majesty is feeling all better again, but how did he become back to normal all of the sudden? ... Oh yeah, that metal thing he was wearing before he went to sleep." He cleaned Dedede's throne room and decided to serve him some tea. "Tea, your majesty," Escargoon said as he walked in just to see Dedede crouching on his bed. "Oh! Your majesty! What happened?!"
"I don't feel good again..." Dedede said in a very depressed tone.
"Oh, why is this happening to his majesty?" Escargoon said.
"Give that thing to Susie," Dedede said as he pointed at the metal hat. "Tell her it doesn't work for long."
"Oh," Escargoon said as he held up the metal hat thing. "Yes, your majesty." He hurried to Dedede's room and connected to Susie.
"Well your- oh, greetings, sir Escargoon," Susie said.
"This thing doesn't work for long time," Escargoon said as he held up and showed her the metal hat thing.
"Huh... that's weird," Susie said.
"Is this some sort of joke?" Escargoon asked, in a little provoking tone.
"Excuse me, sir Escargoon," Susie said, a little angrily. "Forget about that, let me see the King. I should have his brain checked."
"Fine," Escargoon said.
"I don't wanna go..." Dedede said as he was being dragged by Escargoon, Waddle Dees, and Waddle Doo.
"Sire! You must! You can't stay depressed like this!" Escargoon said.
Tiff, Tuff, and Kirby saw Dedede being dragged by Escargoon, Waddle Dees, and Waddle Doo. "Hey, what are you guys doing to him?" Tiff asked.
"None of your business!" Escargoon said as he continued to drag him. Of course, he doesn't want to let them know that they're contacting Susie since her identity has been revealed.
"I never knew Escargoon would do such thing to Dedede," Tiff said.
"Well, that's a little revenge he's enjoying," Tuff said.
"Poyo?" Kirby said.
"Anyways, let's go," Tiff said and Tuff walked along with her. "It's seems like a good day to go on a picnic," Tiff said as she watched the bright sunlight.
"It sure is," Tuff said.
"Don't you think so, Kirby?" Tiff asked. There was no response. "Kirby?" Tiff asked once more, and realized that Kirby was not walking with them. "Kirby? Where did he go?"
Kirby was secretly following Dedede, Escargoon, Waddle Dees, and Waddle Doo into the throne room. He watched Escargoon connecting to Susie. "Well, you're here now. Now, please come through the transporter."
"Well, go on, your majesty," Escargoon said.
"All right," Dedede said. He stepped on the transporter.
Always being so curious, Kirby sneaked up to the transporter without letting anyone know and went to her room with Dedede. Since Kirby was so small, he was able to hide behind Dedede so that he wouldn't get caught by Susie. "Welcome, your majesty. Now, allow me to scan your brain. Please come this way." Susie led him to the operation room, completely unobservant that Kirby was in her room now, all alone. Kirby thought that the room was so cool. It looked more advanced technologically than the Nightmare Enterprises that he saw once. He started to click random buttons as Susie didn't notice.
"All right, I will start scanning your brain, please do not move aggressively," Susie said. Dedede sadly nodded.
"Scan complete," Susie said as the machine was done scanning the machine. Since she didn't know how to read brain images, machine had to explain everything for her. I should take some anatomy classes, Susie thought as he had to skim through the long passages of the explanation of Dedede's brain. "Pardon me, sire. This is gonna take long to read."
"That's okay," Dedede said.
As she looked through the images, she saw an unusual figure attached to Dedede's brain. "What is this?" She scanned the same part of the brain again. She looked at it and there was some strange creature, but looked so familiar. "Sire, where did you get this? This looks like the product from our company."
"Uh..." Dedede started to explain.
(Flashback) Dedede was in the throne room early in the morning, so early that it was not time for Susie to work yet. He was messing around with some buttons, but then something came over the transporter, and swiftly entered into Dedede's head. (End of Flashback)
"So that's what happened," Susie said. "I didn't give a name for it yet, but it causes serious sadness that they lose motivation to do anything. I saved it for Kirby, but it was incomplete that it was still disobedient. Don't worry, I'll take it out." She grabbed a vacuum looking thing and activated it right next to Dedede's head. The creature was sucked in the vacuum thing. "I should totally name these machines and creatures after inventing them," Susie said. "Well, we're done, sire."
"Hey~ I don't feel sad no mo'!" Dedede said.
"I'm glad sire," Susie said. "Now let's get you out of here." Susie and Dedede exited the operation room, only to see Kirby messing with the robots.
"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby said as he played with the arms parts of the machine that was detached from the main body part.
Susie gasped by the horrible sight and fainted. She worked for months to get those all robots. As she fainted, Kirby threw the machine across the room, which bounced everywhere and clicked the button for transporter. Kirby decided to go back as he was bored now. Dedede quickly followed after him and went back to Dedede's throne room with Kirby, where Escargoon, Tiff, and Tuff were waiting. "Kirby!" Tiff said. "That was dangerous! Well I'm glad you're back," Tiff said with relief.
"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby did have fun today, and unintentionally did himself a favor and take longer for Susie to strike him.
