It took Kopa a long while to adjust to be with his family. He was shocked about that Kion and Kiara had found mates for themselves but also to find out that Kion was the old Lion Guard Leader that had retired , and now having his own nephew , Mufusa as the new Lion Guard Leader for the Tree of Life. 

Mufusa also told his team about Kopa's return as Anui seems to be shocked of him having another uncle. 

"Whoa. I never imagined that Zira would be back." The cheetah said, as Penda nods, concurring with him, "Yeah, it does kind feels creepy." 

Mufusa said, "Well, we know that Kopa is so wounded by Zira's attack. I am still curious of how she manages to survive after all these years? And why the sudden attack?" 

Shira said, "I hope we can figure all of this out. I mean , that lioness literally asking for trouble." 

Ona said, "Well, according to Ono, Kion used the Roar back when he was our age, and eventually think that your grandfather, Simba was the true enemy as a cub. " 

"Hm, well this has to be some explanation for all of this, and we can't give up. " Mufusa said. 

Muffy groans, "So much for your family vacation huh? It seems like things wouldn't be the same since you're the leader of the Lion Guard for the Tree of Life." 

The chestnut golden lion seems to be silent, as he looks at the mark of the Guard on his left arm. 

"I really didn't suspect that I would eventually became a hero, like Dad was. It must be hard considering his old enemy is back from the dead." He thought to himself. 

He walks back to Pride Rock, as Kion notices how his son was nervous and not sure of himself, as it travels him back to the past. 

"Son, is there something bothering you?" The King of the Tree of Life asks. 

"Well, I just not sure of that being a leader would have a lot of responsibilities. I mean, you made things so easy." Mufusa said, as the King of the Tree of Life chuckles at the young cub. 

"Well, things are not always easy, Mufusa. I know that things seems uneasy since you became the new Leader of the Guard. 

I was just like you, as I tried to help others in my own way. We have something in common now."

As Kion and Mufusa seems to be bond with each other's understanding , it took Mufusa to realize that he has some similarities with the King. 

As they look onward within Pride Rock, Kion muzzles his son, "Son, no matter what, I'll always be there to support you with anything. And I am proud of you taking the mantle of being the next leader of the Guard. " 

Mufusa said, "Thanks, Dad. How are you coping that you had a brother?" 

"Well, it is quite a shock for me and Kiara at least. We never suspected that we had a sibling since it was only the two of us growing up together." The King replied. 

"Oh." Mufusa said, seems to understand his reason of feeling awkward of having Kopa as a family member. 

"Well, at least you have someone to talk to." Mufusa said, as Janna approaches him, "Mufusa, we have to go." 

"Oh, right! Sorry, Dad. I promise to spend time with Janna and Kopa today. I'll see you later." 

The siblings left him as Kopa waits for them. "Hey you guys! " 

"Did we keep you waiting, Uncle Kopa?" Janna asks. 

"No, you're right on time. Um, I'm not used of being call uncle. Just call me Kopa. I mean we're family after all." He blushes. 

"So, the Tree of Life. I've never heard anything about that place. It sounds incredible." Kopa said as Janna said proudly, "It is! It's so amazing, and I'm going to be the next queen when Mom retires." 

"Yeah, you're really liking to become the next queen too pleasantly, sis." Mufusa said, rolling his eyes. 

"Oh, c'mon, Mufusa, it's not really a bad thing!" She said, as Mufusa sighs as she decides to pin him down. 

The siblings rolled down the hill as Kopa follows the cubs. 

As they landed, Mufusa ask, "Was that really necessary, Janna?!? That is so unpredictable!" 

She chuckles, "What can I say, I had to pin ya." 

Mufusa groans as if it was really a pain for him being pinned down by his older sister. 

Kopa looks confused at the siblings' playful attack. 

"What was that pounce? I never seen it like that before." He said. 

"Well, it's a trait that Dad had passed on to us. Well, Grandfather Simba told us that he had that pounce when he and Nala were cubs. They've been childhood friends before mates." Janna explains. 

Suddenly, they hear laughter booming , as the trio looks around to see that they were surrounded by lionesses. 

One of them approaches as Kopa recognizes her right out the bat. 

"Zira. " He said as she said, "So, Kopa , these cubs are your niece and nephew? How adorable." 

Mufusa steps forward, "You had a lot of nerve of coming to us, Zira. What you want from us?"

"Well, I want..." She said. 

Kion was pacing back and forth nervously as Nala chuckles at him. 

"Kion, stop pacing, you're nervous just like your father was when Kiara had her first hunt. " She said. 

The King of the Tree of Life said, "I can't help it. They should've been back by now. I know that Kopa barely knows Janna and Mufusa, and I do want them to have quality time together, but I can't stop thinking about Zira and her lionesses." 

"Kion! I spotted Mufusa and the others! They seemed to be having a conversation with Zira herself!" Anga said, as Kion seems to be on high alert . 

"Anga , get Mufusa's Lion Guard and the others. We have to help them as soon we can! Till the Lion Guard's End, Lion Guard , Defend!" 

As both Lion Guards try to get to the group, the lionesses blocked their path. 

"Stay out of our way!" Kion said, as he was about to unleash the Roar's power on the lionesses, Kion hears Janna. 

"Oh, really? You could've asked nicely on us of helping. Where is she?"

"She's somewhere on the cliffs on the Outlands. My lionesses are completely useless on dangerous cliffs . " She said. 

Mufusa said, "Then lead the way, I think the Roar could help, Zira. And I think we should let Kopa tell Dad what's going on before he makes a fit." 

As the siblings were following Zira, Kopa spots the two guards. 

"Dad?" Janna asks. 

"What you doing-" Mufusa asks as Kion pins down Zira, as he growls at her. 

Mufusa realizes it was a total misunderstanding as he said, "Dad, let go of Zira. She just needs us to help her rescue a blinded lion cub named Eclipse." 

Zira looks at the red lion with a curious expression, as she looked closely, at the symbol of the Tree of Life on his left shoulder, where the Mark of the Guard used to be. 

"K-Kion?" She stutters at total shock of re-meeting the lion who used the Roar to made her and the Outsiders out of the Outlands so time ago. 

"Yeah, it's me, Zira. I never imagine that I would see you again." He spat, as Janna walks alongside Penda as the two friends glance at the confrontation. 

"This is so awkward . I never seen Dad so furious at someone before, especially like this." Janna said. 

"Well , your father is the King of the Tree of Life, remember?" Penda asks the chestnut lioness, as the groups try to find the lion cub. 

Mufusa sniffs the air, "Something's off. Muffy, you smell it too?"

"Yeah. It smells like..." 

A fire branch came in front of the group , as Kion said, "It's a Fire! Anga, you and Ono should get to the skies to see  if anyone is injured. " 

Mufusa turns to his team, "Muffy, Penda, Shira, we're going to make a fire break . Zira, Janna you should go with Ona to locate Eclipse. We'll join you once we get the fire out." 

"On it. " Janna said, as she turns to the lioness, "Let's go , Zira. My brother and the Lion Guard can handle things from here." 

The lioness turns to watch the two Lion Guards at work, as she sighs, "Ok, be careful, both of you." 

Mufusa nods, as he works with his father to get the fire out from harming the animals living there. 

Kion was amazed of his son's leadership, as if he had been taken back in time , as if he was still leading his team in the Pridelands. 

As the two guards finally got the fire out peacefully, Penda puffs from the mission. 

"Man, putting a fire break isn't easy." She said. 

Mufusa chuckles at the hyena, "It couldn't be helped. That fire was unexpected. Let's find Ona and her group. I'm sure that Eclipse isn't that far ." 

Kion pulls his son aside from the group to talk. 

"Mufusa, I don't trust Zira. She's pure evil." He said, "She's the one who threaten me and the previous Guard and tried to kill your Grandfather Simba." 

"Dad, I know you're worried about me , but I trust her. It's time to let the past behind us." Mufusa said. 

The chestnut golden lion follows his guard, as Kopa sees his younger brother's behavior . 

"I still can't believe he's your son. I guess stubbornness runs in the family. " Kopa said. 

The brothers were reicent for a while, but then, they laughed at the compliment. 

Ona and her group continues their search for the cub. Janna walks over to Zira, as she was nervous. 

"Zira, you met my father, right? So, why you want my father's help?" Janna asks. 

"Well, I didn't know of I'll see your father again after all this time, and um, he seems different. The last time I saw him was when I tricked him and almost-" 

"As I recalled, try to threaten the Pridelands. " Ona said, "That is what Ono told me. Why do you care about Eclipse anyway?"

"Well, her mother abandon her because she was born blind. I found her alone and I raised her as my own with a new pride . 

Don't worry, my lionesses are not a threat. We do hunt, but not to harm the Circle of life." She explains. 

Janna said, amazed, but sadded by Eclipse's story, "How awful of her mother abandoning her own cub like that! 

I want to meet this lioness and give her a lesson about leaving her own child like that." 

"You're fiesty like Nala , I guess being her granddaughter is very impressive. " 

Janna blushes nervously, as if the compliment was uncomfortable , coming from a lioness she never met before. 

"Someone, help!" A voice was heard, interrupting her thoughts. Janna looks up to the hamerkop, as she said, "Ona, is that her?"

Ona uses her Sight as she notices a white lion cub in a dangerous cliffside. "I see a white lion cub, hanging onto a cliff. She's trying to hold on as much she can." 

Zira said, "That has to be Eclipse! She is in more danger than we realize. " 

The chestnut lion said, "Then we have to find my brother and father fast. Ona, can you locate them from here and tell them that we need their help , quickly as possible!"

"On it, Janna. Be careful, both of you." The Keenest of Sight said as she flew to find the Lion Guards. 

Kion and his group arrived as Mufusa looks down, "Whoa. She's on a tight spot. Muffy, do you have any ideas of getting her out?"

"Well, Eclipse is hanging by that cliff. We have to be extremely careful. " He said. 

Panda said, "I will try to climb down and reach her. " 

"It'll scare her. Using the Roar will do the trick, but I have to get the rocks around her out of the way. I just got the Roar, I don't know the abilities yet. " Mufusa said, but the King of the Tree of Life smiles. 

"Well, I think I should teach you one of the abilities it can do. Watch this." 

Kopa ask, "Is the Roar dangerous?"

Fuli replied, "No, you shouldn't be worried about that. Kion mastered the Roar a long time ago when he met Rani. " 

"Wait, really? We didn't know that." Janna exclaimed, as the cubs were surprised of not knowing about their parents' history. 

Kion summoned a small whirlwind towards the cub, as Mufusa's Lion Guard and Janna was speechless of the power of the Roar. 

Eclipse said, "How I .." 

"Eclipse , oh thank goodness!" She hears her mother's voice as she runs towards her and embracing her with a scared expression. 

"Shh. It's all right." Zira said, as Mufusa and the others were still amazed of the King. 

Mufusa was alone in the grassfield hills, as he was thinking about what he just experienced . 

"Mufusa?" A voice asks as he turns around to see Penda looking at him. 

The hyena came towards the lion, "You feeling ok?" 

"No, there is so much I don't know about. The Roar, am I able to master it, just like how Dad did just now?" He asks. 

Penda said, "Mufusa, I know that you can manage it. It just takes time and patience . I'm sure Kion would teach you all the abilities of the Roar in due time. Besides, you are incredibly brave during that fire break earlier and you have the ability to see how trouble Eclipse was in, and try to make a strategy of keeping her safe. You're a born leader." 

The chestnut golden lion cub wasn't sure about the hyena's words, as she smiles at how uncomfortable he was, as she muzzles him in reassurance to know she's always have his back, no matter what. 

The lion was shocked about the sudden movement, but he didn't mind it at all, as they were friends .

Watching in the distance, Kiara and Kovu was looking at the friends talking to each other. 

Kovu chuckles , "Does that remind you of anything, Kiara?"

"Yeah, I remember it , in that time, you weren't positive of what to do, to be with me, or follow your mother's plan to kill my father. 

I bet Mufusa feels uneasy of becoming the leader of the Lion Guard. I know he'll manage, just like his father did when he left the Pridelands to find the Tree of Life. " 

Kovu smiles at his mate, "Yeah, I suppose you're right as always, Kiara." 

The two lions left the fields as they know that they don't have to be worried about their nephew and his abilities of being the leader of the Lion Guard. 

Mufusa clears his throat as Penda ask, "Is something wrong?"

"It's nothing, Penda. It's getting late, we should get back to Pride Rock. " 

The hyena nods, but she thought in her mind, "What was I doing just now? Am I ... falling in love with Mufusa?"
