It was early morning as Kion got out of the Den, as he stretched out his mane. He looks out to see it was Kiara who was spending time with Janna.

"Morning you guys." Kion greets the lionesses as they both turn to see the King of the Tree of Life. 

"Oh, morning, Kion!" Kiara said, as Janna said, "Morning, Daddy." 

Kion notices that his son wasn't with them. "Have the two of you seen Mufusa?"

Janna said, "I haven't seen Mufusa when I woke up this morning. Should I look for him?" 

"Mufusa would be fine, Kion. He has a responsibility he has to take care of , remember?" Kiara said, rolling at her brother's confusion of where he could be. 

Kion thought for a moment , as if he knew that Kiara might be right about him worrying over nothing, since he used to be the Leader of the Lion Guard. 

As he walked around of the familiar landscape that used to be his home, he noticed Mufusa and his Lion Guard. 

He was stunned of them asleep on the grass. 

"Hm." Kion said, as he walks up to the young Leader of the Guard, as he gently pounces on them.

Mufusa jumped in to the sudden reaction of it as he turns around to see his father. 

"Oh, it's just you. You really don't have to pounce on us like that." Mufusa said, felt completely annoyed at his father's childlike behavior . 

"Well, you were gone from the den, I got worried. " Kion said, as he looks at the rest of the Guard. 

"Did you guys stayed up all night on patrol? That's takes a lot on you guys. You shouldn't have to do that. Vitani would've done that with her Lion Guard." 

Mufusa said, "Awe, it's nothing we could've handled. Besides, we already planned of doing a night patrol anyway." 

Kion seem to be unsure of his son of trying too hard, "All right, I believe you. It's just... it's going to be weird for me to have my own son following into my footsteps." 

The chestnut golden lion cub seems to be confused by his father's words, as if it was unclear to the young cub.

Penda sniffs the air, "I smell something." 

Mufusa turns serious as he asks Ona, "Ona, can you check it out what Penda sniffed out?" 

"Sure thing, Mufusa. I'll be back for a report. " The hamerkop replied , as she flew away. 

Both father and son seems to be still unprepared of what to say when the Keenest of Sight was away. 

"Um.. So, you really take it seriously, huh?" Kion asks as Mufusa shrugs, "Well, I have to be the responsible one. Janna will have to be the next queen, isn't she? 

We have new responsibilities that we have to consider." The leader of the Guard said, as Kion seems to be amazed of how wise his son has become, even though he didn't need to explain it. 

"Yes, it seems we have both have in common, I suppose." The red lion replies as Ona came back with a concern expression on her face. 

"Ona, what is it?" Mufusa asks . 

"It's something you need to see." She replied, as both lions exchanged looks in a curious and confused expression on their faces. 

As they followed the bird, to their amazement, there was lion , a lion who seems to be in total bruises. 

"What in the Pridelands?" Kion asks. Mufusa and his lion guard step forward towards the mysterious lion, as Penda sniffs him, "It seems like he lost a lot of blood. We should do something." 

Shira suggested, "How about taking him to Rafiki? He might know what to do." 

"Good thinking, Shira. Rafiki is the best healer in the Pridelands." Kion said, as Shira carries the lion to Rafiki's tree.

The royal mjuzi saw the Lion Guard, as the mandrill said, "Oh, what you brings you here this early morning?" 

"Sorry for disturbing you, Rafiki. We found a lion who seems to be hurt. " 

The mandrill looks at the lion, but then , he gasps of who he was. 

"Out of all my years, I never thought I would see you again. " The mandrill said, which Mufusa asks curiously, "Rafiki, who is he?"

"This is very important, Mufusa. I want you to locate your grandparents immediately. It's important they must see for themselves." 

"I'll send Ona to get them. Ona, do you mind?" Mufusa asks as the bird nods as she flew. 

As she flew, she was curious of why Rafiki would ask Mufusa to get the old King and Queen of Pride Rock. 

Ono was with Simba and Nala. 

"Ona! What you doing here?" Ono asks his adoptive sister. 

"Mufusa and the Lion Guard is at Rafiki's Tree. He wants to see Simba and Nala immediately." She explains as Ono was curious of why Rafiki was eager to seek of them.

They made it to the Tree as Kion exclaimed, "Mom! Dad! " 

"Rafiki, what's going on?" Simba asks, as the mandrill steps aside to their pure shock, they recognized he lion . 

"I can't believe it.  I thought he was dead." Nala shivered. 

"It seems impossible. I thought that..." Simba said, as Mufusa couldn't handle the suspense any longer. 

"Just tell us, already! Who is this lion?"

"We haven't been honest with you. We kept a secret , a secret that we kept from your dad and your aunt. " Simba said. 

Kion step forward, "Dad, what you saying?" 

"Son, meet your brother, Kopa. We believed he was murdered." Nala said.

"Murdered? By whom?" Muffy asks curiously, of who was trying to murder him. 

"Well, Zira." The mandrill replied, when Kopa was born, he was much like his siblings. Kopa was found covered in blood by Simba, and he convinced he was killed by her, despite of her hatred of Simba being king of the Pridelands." 

"Well, that seems like she would do." Ona said, as Ono glares at his adoptive sibling, "That is not reassuring, Ona." 

Kopa was groaning as Kion watches his brother, "What make him have so many bruises like this? I should have Nirmala help you, Rafiki. She is a good healer at the Tree of Life. Mufusa, I want you to stay here while Kopa is resting. Your Lion Guard can help the Night Pride search for clues of what happened. " 

"Good thinking, Dad. Lion Guard, help the Night Pride of solving this mystery." 

Penda said, "Don't worry, we will find out what happened to Kopa. You can count on us." 

Muffy nods as Mufusa's Lion Guard leaves the Tree. 

Mufusa seems to be uneasy of knowing he had another uncle. He walks out of the tree and wants some advice from his grandmother. 

"Grandmother Sabrabi?"

The wise queen appears to him, "I'm here, Mufusa. What's troubling you?"

"Well, I have learnt that I have another uncle, his name is Kopa. I'm not entirely sure if I can trust him." He said. 

"Hm... it seems like you are hesitant of hearing this news. But it is best to hear what others have to say before making a dire decision on your own." She advise him, "You know what to do then, my grandson." 

Mufusa was silent for a moment, but then smiles at her, "Thanks, Grandmother Sarabi." 

The chestnut golden lion headed back to the tree as Kopa was finally awoke up.

"Wh-Where am I?" He said, as he looks at Mufusa with a curious expression as Mufusa asks, "Uncle Kopa? You feeling all right?"

" 'Uncle?'" He repeated as Rafiki said, "It seems like have finally woken up , Kopa. " 

Nirmala said, "You have to take it easy, Kopa. Your wounds were really deep . Rafiki and I were able to heal you , but you must take one step at a time." 

"I don't know you. Rafiki, I must speak with my parents. Are they here? It's important." Kopa said, urgently.

"That would mean of doing my cue as the Leader of the Guard. Follow me. I'll lead you to Pride Rock. That is where Simba and Nala are, with my parents too." 

Kopa was confused by the lion's words but followed the cub. There he saw Kion and Rani along with his own parents . 

"Mom, Dad!" Mufusa said, "Kopa's awake and wants to see Grandmother Nala and Grandfather Simba. Was the Guard able to locate who hurt him yet?"

Kion said, "I haven't heard anything from the Night Pride yet, or from your guard. Perhaps they are still searching." 

"Oh. I guess that is understandable. " Mufusa said, seemed to understanding the situation.

"Son, I'm glad you're alive, what you doing here?"

"Well, I was attack... by a familiar foe. It's Zira." He said, as Kion seems to be irate, "Zira has return?!? " 

Mufusa asks, "Isn't that the Outsider who wanted to take over the Pridelands but was unable to get it with Aunt Kiara and Uncle Kovu stopped her plan?"

"Afraid so. I never thought I would hear her name again after all these years." Kion said, as the King of the Tree of Life sighs. 

Kopa said, "I never thought of seeing her either. She and her new pack ambush me and she seems to be lurking in the Pridelands somewhere." 

Mufusa said, turning to his dad, "Dad, let us take care of the lionesses. You know of what I can do with the Roar." 

"I don't know , Mufusa. You barely know what abilities the Roar can do . " 

"Just trust in me, Dad. Besides, you have to stay with Kopa , keep him safe." He said, being serious about being protective of the young lion. 

He turns to Rani as Rani gave her son a small smile, "I believe in you and your Lion Guard, my son. Go." 

He nods as he left with looking for his team.

Kopa said, "Who is that cub, anyway?"

"Well, that is my son, Mufusa. He's the leader of the Tree of Life's Lion Guard. Janna is my daughter too. She's the next queen of the Tree of Life." Kion explains to his brother. 

"So, we're family then?" Kopa asks. 

"Yes, I'm Kion, the King of the Tree of Life, alongside my Queen. Queen Rani. We're on a family vacation so to speak. 

You should meet Kiara, our sister. She's more alike like our dad than I ever was. " Kion said, as Kopa follows him to the Lair where Kiara and Kovu were inside, looking at the paintings of the past. 

Kiara notices her younger brother, "Kion! What brings oh." 

"Kiara, meet our brother, Kopa. " Kion explains to the pale lioness as Kion notices of how Kopa was looking at Kiara with pure amazement. 

"Kopa, are you ok? Say something!" The King of Tree of Life said, waving his paw at his sibling. 

"I have a lot of questions. I don't know where to begin." He said, seemed to overwhelmed by everything he has seen. 

"Well, we have time to fix that, right, Kion?" Kiara asks, looking at her brother as Kion nods, "Yeah, we can tell you everything you need to know." 

But the King was worried, about having Zira being alive, and what could it possibly be for his family?
