Mufusa was all alone, still trying to think of who is actually worthy of becoming part of his own Lion Guard, to protect the Tree of Life. 

Although, the chestnut golden lion cub wasn't too sure, considering that he doesn't know anyone from the Pridelands, since it's a whole new foreign land that he never been before, and the only people that he just met was his aunt and uncle, and Timon and Pumbaa.

As the young lion cub was thinking, he heard a hyena calling for help.

"Msaada! " 

The lion cub races towards the hyena who was in the river and he said, "Don't worry, I'm coming. " 

The hyena was was drowning as Mufusa jumped into the water and pulled the hyena out as they both gasp for air. 

The hyena looks at the young lion cub, as she and Mufusa brushes off the water off of their furs. 

"Are you ok?" Mufusa asks. 

"Yes, Asante. I'm Penda. I'm the daughter of Jasri and Janja. What about you?"

"I'm Mufusa. I'm the son of King Kion and Queen Rani, and I'm from this place called the Tree of Life. I'm not from the Pridelands." The lion cub explains. He thought to himself, "I just made a friend with a hyena. I thought hyenas are evil." 

Penda sees of how I was shock of being friends with her. "I know you think all hyenas are evil, Mufusa, but we're all on the same side. Sisi Ni Sawa." 

"Sisi Ni Sawa? We're the same? " Mufusa asks in total curiosity, as he said, "I don't know. I don't think so."

As Mufua learns about Sisi Ni Sawa, it really makes him realize that they are really are alike more than he thought. 

"So, Penda, why were you in the river when I saw you?" He asks her. 

She said, felt shy, "Well, I was not looking where I was going and I fell in. I'm just glad that you saved me, Mufusa." 

"Well, it's what a friend must do. Besides, we're friends, aren't we?" The chestnut golden lion cub asks. 

The hyena smiles at the lion, as they explore the Pridelands together. 

As they venture on, they saw a young hamerkop flying towards them. "I saw you on the river. Are you ok?"

"Yes, it's thanks to Mufusa. He's the one who saved me." Penda explains. 

Mufusa asks, "You saw us from that far distance? You must've gotten a pretty good eyesight." 

"I was just flying by, and I knew I had to warn the Lion Guard about it, but they seem to be in a different location. Oh, I'm Ona."

Mufusa said, "Ona? Your name is similar to one of my uncles. His name is Ono. He's the part of the -" 

"Used to be in the Lion Guard as the Smartest. I know all about the Lion Guard. Ono is my adoptive brother after all." Ona said, smiling which caused both of the animals to be in total amazement of her knowing all about Ono and the previous Lion Guard.

"Ona, do you know where my aunt and her Lion Guard is right now?" Mufusa asks curiously.

She nods, "Follow me, Mufusa." 

The chestnut golden lion and the hyena follow the hamerkop, as they hoped that Vitani and her Lion Guard are safe.

Janna, Auni and Muffy awake up from their comfort shelter from the dessert storms. 

The chestnut lioness asks, "You guys ready to keep going to find Mufusa?"

"Yeah, I know that Mufusa must have a good reason to leave the Tree of Life so suddenly. It still amazes me that he can travel through the dessert storms." Auni said, still in disbelief of how insane and desperate of the Prince of the Tree of Life is to go out beyond the comfort of their home. 

Muffy scoffs, "I am still mad that he left without telling us! It's really makes me irate he would do something like this." 

Janna sighs, as if she knows that Muffy and her brother get along so well, like they were more like brothers than best friends.

Although it was her idea to find her older brother all by herself, she was still unsure of what to say to him when they found the prince. 

" What I suppose to say to Mufusa? " She thought to herself, as both of the boys looks at the young lioness with a pure curiosity on their faces. 

" Janna, you feeling all right?" Muffy asks, as the snow leopard was concerned about her well being. 

The lioness shook her head, as she reassures the snow leopard, "It's nothing, Muffy. C'mon, let's get moving." 

Anui walks towards Muffy as he whispers, " I really hope that Janna and Mufusa would get along, when we find him." 

The snow leopard looks at the princess of the Tree of Life, as she was leading the way to find her older brother.

As the animals continue their journey through the unknown, a voice yells, "Hapana! Why you guys here?"

Janna and the others gulped as they saw the Smartest along with the other Night Pride members. 

"Why you guys here?" Besthe asks the cubs.

"Well..." Anui stammers nervously, as Janna said, "I'm the one who suggested to look for Mufusa on our own. I didn't mean to make any of you mad." 

Fuli sighs, "I'm just relieve we did find you. I am truly amazed of how all three of you make it this far out on your own. How about we search for your brother together?"

The cubs eyes lit up, as they were amazed of how quickly they accepted their apology and helped them search for the Prince of the Tree of Life. 

"I'm worried about Mufusa. I hope that he wouldn't be any trouble." Muffy said to the Night Pride members. 

"I'm sure that Mufusa would be fine. I'm sure he has his own reasons to run off on his own like this." Anga said, trying to reassure the snow leopard. 

"I hope you're right." He said. 

Mufusa and Penda follows Ona as fast as possible as they saw Vitani and the Lion Guard being surrounded by Jackals. 

"Jackals! " Penda said. 

Ona said, "What we do? We have to help them somehow! " 

The chestnut golden lion looks around quickly as he runs towards the elephants. 

"We need someone to help us out . Vitani and the Lion Guard are in trouble!" He said. 

"I can help! I can lift the boulders." A young elephant said, as she was willing to help. Mufusa said, "Great , follow me." 

Mufusa said, "With strength and protect, Lion Guard defend!" 

The young cubs went in as Vitani asks, "What in the Pridelands?"

"Mufusa! Behind you!" Ona yells as Mufusa pins the young Jackal. "Thanks, Ona! " 

Penda uses the sand to cover her enemy's eyes, yells, "Hoai!" 

The leader of the Jackal rushes forward towards Mufusa, "Enough playing around! This isn't a place for you and your friends." 

Mufusa got mad as he said, "Get off! You will not hurt Vitani or my friends, ever! " 

Mufusa's eyes widen as his chocolate eyes glowed as he unexpectedly uses the Roar on them , leaving the group to be in total shock.

"Whoa." Penda said. 

The lions in the sky roared with Mufusa as the Jackals flew out of the Outlands as Mufusa looks up from the clouds as he said in total shock, "Hevia Kabisa. Was that my Roar?"

The symbol of the Lion Guard disappears from his right shoulder. 

Ona and the rest of the group rejoined Vitani and the Lion Guard. 

Mufusa asks his aunt, "Aunt Vitani, are you ok?"

"I think so. Wait, I have some questions." She said, as Mufusa said, "It's a long story, I can tell you once we arrive back to Pride Rock. It's quite simpler if you heard it from there." 

The dusty fulvous hue lioness was confused by the young cub's words, but it didn't cloud her judgement. 

As the group went back to Pride Rock, Kiara and Kovu looks at Mufusa. "We heard something. Was that what I thought it was, Mufusa?"

"I think so. I think I inherited the Roar. But I didn't suspect it would arrived so suddenly." He explains. 

Vitani asks, "I'm lost. Who are you exactly?" 

Mufusa said, "I'm the Prince of the Tree of Life, the son of King Kion and Queen Rani. I'm your nephew. " 

Vitani seems to be dumbstruck of hearing that Kion has a son now. "Whoa. I ... I never k-" 

"You didn't know because Kion was busy at the Tree of Life. It's totally understandable." Kiara reassures her sister-in-law.

"I thought about being a leader , like Dad was. But I guess I have a lot to learn about being one." 

Vitani smiles, as she pats a paw on his head, "Don't worry. I am amazed of how quickly you did with the Jackals. Your Roar is part of who you are, Mufusa." 

But Mufusa wasn't too sure. He walked away from the group , as Penda asks, "Uh, Mufusa?"

The elephant said, reassuring her, "Let's give him time alone. He just discovered the Roar for the first time. It'll take time for him to adjust. 

I'm Shira by the way, the daughter of Mtoto." 

Penda seems to be concerned about her new friend, but she said, "Shira, I hope you are right about this."
