Janna was pacing back and forth, as to worried about her younger brother, Mufusa. It seems like he's gone for a long time, and should be back from playing with Auni and Muffy. 

As she looks around, Ono sees the young lioness. "Janna, is something wrong?" 

"Ono! I don't know where Mufusa is. I need the Night Pride's help." She explains to the egret as he seems to understand. 

"On it. We'll figure things out, Janna. Don't worry. Your uncles and aunt will handle this. Go ahead to be with your parents. " 

The young lioness nods at the Egret's suggestion as she went off to tell her parents about the situation. 

Kion and Rani were in total shock that Mufusa wasn't with his sister. "Where he could've gone?" Rani asks. 

"I don't know, but I'm actually glad that Fuli and the others will seek out for him. I feel glad that you told Ono, Janna." 

"It's the least I can do, considering that Mufusa will might be in serious trouble." She replied back to her father, but she is still worried about him. 

Mufusa went out of the mountain pass, as he went through the desert storms, and went through terrible winter blizzards. 

As the chestnut golden lion was exhausted from all that travel, he fainted, as he couldn't stand it anymore. 

He felt a splash of water came into his face, as he sees unfamiliar faces he never seen before. It was a meerkat and a warthog staring at him.

The meerkat asks, "Hey, are you ok, kid?"

"I think so. " Mufusa said, as he sat up as he looks at the two animals. 

"It's a good thing that Timon saw you collapse. I was worried." The warthog said, as Timon said, "The kid's fine, Pumbaa. He's completely healthy. So, kid, where you come from?"

"Um.. I come from The Tree of Life. Why you ask?" Mufusa asks curiously, but the two animals gasp in surprise. 

"Do you say, "The Tree of Life?!?" We haven't heard from Kion for ages." Timon said, happily. 

Mufusa seems to be amazed that Timon knew his dad. "You know my dad?" 

"Wait, you're saying that Kion is your father?" Pumbaa asks. 

The chestnut golden lion nods, as the meerkat climbs to Pumbaa's back, "C'mon, follow us! We'll escort you to Pride Rock." 

The chestnut  golden lion follows them as they suggested as the young lion cub was amazed by the animals who lived there. 

"Welcome to the Pridelands. I take it this is your first time , isn't?" Timon asks. 

"Uh, yeah. It is. I never heard of the Pridelands before." Mufusa admits to the meerkat as he said, "It's all right. You're safe here. With the Lion Guard's help, things have been peaceful. " 

Mufusa thought in his mind, "What's a Lion Guard?" 

As Timon and Pumbaa came to the Pride Rock, there was two lions that Mufusa hasn't seen before. A pale golden lioness and a black lion with a scar. 

 "Timon. Pumbaa , who is this?" The pale golden lioness asks as Mufusa said, "My name is Mufusa. I'm King Kion and Queen Rani's son." 

Both lions were amazed of hearing the name for the first time. "Mufusa. That's a great name. We're your aunt and uncle. My name's Kiara and this is Kovu. 

You travelled to the Pridelands alone? That seems reckless." Kiara said. 

That was when a mandrill looks at the young lion cub. "Haha! This cub has the same potential as his father! He can become the Leader of his own Lion Guard!" 

Mufusa asks, "Um, what's a Lion Guard?"

The two lions exchange looks at one other as to wonder if it good thing to have their nephew to learn about his father's adventures of being leader of the Lion Guard. 

"This way, Mufusa." Kiara explains to the young lion cub as he was curious of where his aunt was taking him. 

"Ok?" He replied as he follows her as he notices an entrance behind one of the rocks between the Pride Rock.

Kiara ask, "Rafiki? " 

The wise old royal mjuzi opens up the passage way as Mufusa was surprise and awe. 

"Whoa." Mufusa said, as he enters the cave, "This is incredible. Aunt Kiara, what is this place?"

"This is the Lion Guard lair. It's a special meeting place for the previous lion guard members." 

"This is something unbelievable for me to believe. But I'm curious and don't leave out a single detail. What is the Lion Guard?"

Kiara smiles at her nephew, "Well, Mufusa, the Lion Guard is a team who protects and defends the Circle of Life. Your great uncle, Scar, used to have the gift of the Roar when he was about your age. But then, he believes that he should be king instead of his older brother, Mufusa. So, he asks his own Lion Guard to take down the King of the Pridelands, but they refused and Scar uses the Roar against them, but what Scar didn't realize that if using the Roar for evil purposes, he lose the Roar completely. " 

"Hevia Kabsia." He said, as he was hearing the story of his great uncle. Mufusa said, "So, what that mean for my dad? What he have to do with the Lion Guard?"

"He never told you? That's not like Kion to keep secrets, especially to his own child." Kovu said, seems to be shocked about Kion never told his son about the Lion Guard. 

Kiara said, "Well, your father used to be the Leader of the Lion Guard. With Ono, Besthe, Anga , Bunga and Fuli. They were the Prideland's Fastest, Bravest, Smartest, Fiercest and Keenest of Sight. 

He passed the leadership to Vitani, your aunt who is the Fiercest of the Pridelands. " 

Mufusa said, "Woah. I never knew that Dad had an amazing past! But how come that he never told me or Janna about any of this?" 

Kiara said, "I don't have the answer to that. I know he has his reasons, Mufusa. For now, how about Kovu take you on a tour of the Pridelands? " 

Mufusa sweats, "You don't have to do that, Aunt Kiara, I can explore on my own. I am curious about the Pridelands, so is it best if I learn about the Pridelands myself?"

Kiara and Kovu looks at each other, as Kovu said, "I think it's best I went with you, Mufusa. And besides, I want to learn more about my nephew. " 

Both lions walks out of the Lair, as Mufusa seems to be still in disbelief that his father used to be a leader of the Lion Guard.

"I don't get why my dad didn't tell me himself about the Lion Guard. It's still makes my heart race. " 

That was when he decided on his own . He'll form his own Lion Guard, to protect the Tree of Life. But the question remains, who is worthy enough to follow him if he's a leader? And would he be able to lead , just like his dad is at the Tree of Life?

As he was lost in his thoughts, Kovu said, "Mufusa? Is there something bothering you?" 

"Sorry, Uncle Kovu. I'm still in disbelief that my father didn't bother to tell me about his past. It's so unreal to me." 

The black lion chuckled, "You know , Kion was a little bit rebellious too. He even used the Roar to send me way out of the Outlands." 

"Really?" The lion cub said in shock . The black lion chuckles at the cub's expression, "Yes. it wasn't a slightest memory, but I know that Kion has a good heart, and he always make the right choice. 

If you decide of forming your own Lion Guard someday, there are children who would come to assist you. " The lion said. 

The lion cub seems to be at total ease with him, as though it was his first interaction with his uncle that he never met before. 

"Asante, Uncle Kovu. I feel at ease talking to you." Mufusa said. 

"Hey, if you need someone to talk to, I'm always here." 

The lion leaves to give his nephew some thought. 

Janna was tired of waiting. She was with Muffy and Auni. Muffy said, "Hey, Janna. I know that Ono and the other Night Pride members will find Mufusa. He is going to be so much trouble when he gets home!" 

She rolls her eyes at the snow leopard, "I know. But it's not like him to wonder off outside of The Tree of Life. I say we go after him." 

As she was about to leave, Anui runs towards the cub, "Are you nuts? First of all, we can't leave the Tree. Secondly, I'm sure my mother and her friends would find him, and thirdly, we don't know where he is, or why he disobey the rules! We have to stay here." 

Janna chuckles at the cheetah, "Ha! Don't tell me you're scared of a little adventure, are you?"

"N-No! I'm not!" He lied, but Muffy sees the lie throughly, "Admit it. You're scared, dude. There is no way that you're lying to Janna. She's going to be the next queen after all." 

The cheetah sighs in total regret as if he lost the fight, as if they was no way of talking them out of it. 

"So, it's decided. We leave tonight." Janna said.

The cubs left immediately to search for the young Prince of the Tree of Life. Anui seems to be tired, as he said, "Janna, I'm tired. Can we rest?" 

Muffy concurs , "Yeah, I'm beat as well. We can cross the desert storms tomorrow, Janna." 

Janna heisant but she knew that both of the boys are right. She turns around as all of them found a cave to rest in. 

Rani came to the Tree with worried expressions. Kion ask his mate, "Is something wrong, Rani? I know that Ono and the others would find our son before he gets into major trouble." 

"It's not that, Kion. I think Janna went after him. I can't find her, also Muffy and Auni too. Fuli isn't going to be thrilled about this." 

Kion and Fuli became good friends along the years since Mufusa and Janna were born. He even babysits Anui when he was born.  

Even through Fuli got over her crush on Kion, he was able to be happy that they were in good terms with each other. 

"I think Nirmala and Baliyo should go and find the kids, Rani. They know the mountain pass leads to the Pridelands. Maybe that's where they are heading. " The King suggested. 

Rani raises her eyebrows, "How can Mufusa know which way to the Pridelands? We never told our children about the Pridelands! " 

"Well, he is just like me. He'll know the way." Kion said, as if he still remembers what he was like when he was Mufusa's age.

He hopes that his son wouldn't find out about him being the Leader of the Lion Guard, and the troubles that lie ahead. 

Kion sighs as if things would be harder to keep his past a secret for long.
