It was still quite a few days since Kion and his family had returned to the Tree of Life to meet Kiara and Kovu. 

Although, Kion still knew what is happening between Penda and Mufasa. He sat alone, in the familiar hill where he used to stay under the stars with his wife. 

"What you doing here, Kion? Is something bothering you?" A voice interrupts his thoughts, as the chestnut lion turns around to see Rani. 

"Oh, hey, Rani. I was actually thinking about something. Have you noticed something about our son recently?" The King of Tree of Life asked. 

The lioness lay down next to him, "No, I haven't . Why would you ask? " 

"Well, it.. it seems to me that our son has slowly falling in love." He replied to her . The lioness was speechless for a bit, but then with something inside of her was bursting out was laughter. 

"What's so funny?" Kion asked nervously at his wife , considering that she was laughing at the situation. 

"Mufusa is exactly like you, Kion , back when we first met. You weren't sure what love is, right? Maybe he feels the same way as you did." She said. 

 Kion was silent for a moment. He thought back on the day the Lion Guard had arrived at the Tree of Life, in hoping to heal Ono's eyes and his venom. 

He chuckle, "I suppose you're right! But as I recalled, you pinned me down when we met. That was really cruel of you, Rani." 

Rani chuckles at the memory as well, "Well, in my defense, I thought that you and the Guard were intruders invading the Tree of Life back then. Boy, that really felt just like yesterday, hasn't it? 

Not only we became the King and Queen of the Tree of Life, we also have two brave, courageous,  gentle children." 

The couple was silent for a long moment, as Kion asked, "Do you think Mufusa will be ok , I mean, he never experience this feeling before, despite of being the Leader of the Guard." 

"Awe, don't worry about it, Kion. I know our son will figure things out on his own. Just give it time for him to trust his own feelings. 

As his parents, we have to support him , no matter what his decisions might be." Rani said, encouraging her mate that Mufusa will be fine on his own. 

Mufusa was alone, as though he was trying his best to stay on night patrol. He just couldn't stop thinking about what Penda said. 

"Mufusa, I love you. " 

Mufusa said, "Why? Why she love me? I don't know anything about love. Why is is it so complicated?" 

"You ok, Mufusa?" He heard a voice said, as to see it was Muffy. The snow leopard walked up towards the lion. 

"I had an awkward talk with Penda." The lion said to his best friend. 

"Oh, what you do?" 

"It's not what I do, it's more like what she say. It stunned me." 

"C'mon, how bad can-" 

"She told me that she loves me, Muffy." The lion replied , which made the leopard shocked. 

"S-She told you that?!? T-That's um, unexpected." 

"Tell me about it. I mean, I really understand Penda, but I wasn't in love with her. In fact I don't know anything about love. " 

"Seriously? Did you know that your parents didn't fall in love right away? Even I heard Simba had complicated reactions . " Muffy points out. 

Mufusa said, "Yeah, you're right. I guess I have some family traits of being self-conious. Uh, I felt clueless. " 

"It's not too late . If you truly have a special someone, you should tell that person how you feel." Muffy advised. 

The lion looked amazed , "How you know anything about love, anyway?"

"Easy, Ona told me that her father is going to find a mate soon, so, he told her about it, and she's cool with it. She told me the same advice. " 

The chestnut lion was silent at his best friend's words. The feeling is there, as though there was something inside of him that was telling him deep inside that he had indeed fallen in love, and it has been with Eclipse. 

Back at the Pridelands, Eclipse was sitting in the edge of Pride Rock, as she was thinking about someone. 

"You couldn't sleep, huh?" A voice asked, as she knew whose voice it belonged to. "Oh, hi, Kiara. I thought it would be nice to be out of the den once and while. " 

"You been silent lately ever since Mufusa and his guard had left the Pridelands. Is that you are thinking about, how they are doing back at the Tree of Life?"

"Was it too oblivious? " She asked the Queen of Pridelands. The pale golden lioness said, "It was. But I kind of had a hunch about it. 

You have fallen in love with Mufusa , have you?" She asked her as the white lioness blushed and put her ears down , admitting it to her. 

"You don't have to be totally embarrassed about that. Having a crush isn't a problem. Kion felt the exact way when he missed Rani. 

He was all alone, and also wanted to be with her in the Tree of Life. I think you should go there. " 

"Really? You don't mind of me leaving the Pride? What about Mother, and my Pride? " 

That is when Zira said, "Go be with your mate. Do what your heart desires, all I want is my children to lead their own lives. " 

"Mother." Eclipse said, as the lionesses cuddled each other as that they give their last goodbyes as Eclipse smiles at her Pride as she went alone. 

Zira watches her daughter go, as Kiara said, "She'll be fine, Zira. She will be happy. You should be proud of her. " 

"Thank you, Kiara. You really made into a fine and wise Queen. " She said, as Kiara said, "I know it must be hard for you as a mother, although, I never was one." 

The old lioness looked at Kiara's stomach as she ask, "Are you .." 

"Yeah. Kovu and I .. going to be expecting over the next spring . We don't know if it going to be a boy or girl yet. " Kiara said, smiling at the great news. 

"Awe , that's exciting! You both will be fantastic parents! Treasure every moment , and don't make the same mistakes that I did." Zira said, giving her advice. 

"We will. Thanks, Zira." 

But unknown to them, there are enemies of the past will slowly return and be Mufusa's greatest challenge yet.
