It was early morning , as a certain chestnut golden male cub was happily waiting for the sunrise to come. 

He ran quickly as he can , so he can wake up his father. "Dad! Dad! C'mon, you said that you would show me the land today!" 

Kion was still asleep with his wife and daughter, as Mufusa groans in despair, "Seriously? " 

The cub gently pushes Kion , trying to wake the king up as he possibly can, "Dad. Dad!" 

Rani , looking at the cub, as she chuckles at the young cub's enthusiasm. "Kion, your son is awake." 

"At sunrise, he's your son." Kion mumbles in his sleep, as Mufusa tries again as he groans , rolling his chocolate brown red eyes as he pushes his father once again, as he yelled at his father, "You promised!" 

Kion sees how irate his son was of waiting for him to wake up. "Ok, I'm up, I'm up! Sorry, Mufusa. I was on patrol last night with your uncle." 

"Geez, that's reassuring." Mufusa pouts at the King of the Tree of Life as Janna rolls her eyes of waking up so early.

"You just had to wake Dad up so early , don't you, Mufusa?" The chestnut lioness groaned of her younger brother's enthusiasm.

"It's all right, Janna. He's just excited, that's all." Her mother said, chuckling at her daughter's worried expression for her father.

Mufusa and Kion were sitting on a ledge , as the sun rose up, "Everything you see, Mufusa, it's your home. The Tree of Life.

Someday, you will be responsible for all of this, my son, it wouldn't be exactly easy, but I know you can manage." 

Mufusa was not sure of himself, "You really think I can handle watching over everyone here, in the Tree of Life?

I'm not like you, Dad. Besides, you never done anything heroic ." 

Kion knew that Mufusa will learn about being a leader someday, as he said, "You will understand someday. Now run along now."

The golden chestnut lion said, "But dad-" 

"Go ahead, son." His father said, as Mufusa gently purrs through his father's paw in comfort as went off to find his best friend, Muffy, a snow leopard who lives in the snowy mountains. 

"Habjao, Muffy! Want to play Baobab Ball?" Kion asks, as Muffy said, "You think I'll let you win this time because you're the Prince of the Tree of Life!" 

Mufusa groans, "C'mon, Muffy, we've talked about this. I don't like anyone know me just because I'm the prince of The Tree of Life. That's only part of who I am. It's like there is something my dad isn't telling me. " 

Muffy asks curiously, "What you think he's hiding about? Did you ask your dad this?"

The lion cub shook his head, "He's too busy with ruling the kingdom to tell me about it. It's not like he had done some heroic things. He's the king!" 

Muffy took the fruit from the lion cub , laughing as Mufusa said, "Hey, that's not fair, Muffy! Give that back!" 

Both friends were enjoying their fun with the game, as Fuli was with her son, Anui. 

"Morning, Mufusa. Muffy. Another game I see." The cheetah said, as Mufusa greeted the cheetah, "Hey, Aunt Fuli . Anui, come play with us!" 

Anui wasn't sure about it, as he was uncomfortable of playing with the two animals. "I don't know. It seems weird. " 

Fuli said, "It's fine, Anui. Go on and play with the other children. I'll see you around." 

Anui sighs, as if he had no other choice but obey his mother's request. 

As the day went on, all boys were tired from playing as Janna was walking towards her little brother. 

"Hey, Janna." Mufusa greeted his sister as Janna said, "I can't believe you wanted to see the Tree of Life so badly. It's our home after all." 

"Hey, Dad promised me of seeing the land himself, have you forgotten that?" Mufusa groans of his older sister's comment. 

Janna rolls her orange brown eyes at her brother, as she said, "Well, at least I know what role I had to be when I grow up. I have big responsibilities as the next-" 

"Queen of the Night Pride, just like your great grandmother, Janna, who you were named after. We know that." Muffy said, as if they heard her speech so many times. 

Although it was so simple for Janna to figure out her purpose so easily, Mufusa still felt uneasy of trying to know what his destiny was . 

Mufusa sighs, as if there was nothing that he could do, especially that he has been known as the Prince of the Tree of Life.

He walks away from his sister and his friends as he wants to do something that nobody ever has done: Go out of the Tree of Life.

It was something that no animal ever dared or defy the rule of the Tree of Life: Never leave the mountain pass without the Night Pride knowing.

Being the rebellious lion he was, he decides to venture out towards the mountain pass, as he set out to find out his destiny.

The young lion  couldn't hold excitement any longer as the lion was wondering what lies outside the comfort of his home.

Kion was curious as Rani said, "Is something wrong, Kion?"

The King sighs, "I really think that Mufusa is really rebellious. I'm worried that he would do something dangerous."

Rani chuckles at her mate, "Kion, there is nothing to be scared about. Mufusa is your son. I'm sure that there is nothing that would be worried about. Besides, he doesn't know about the Lion Guard. "

Kion wasn't sure, but he knew that this would change any day. He remembers about when he was about Mufusa's age, when he discovers the Roar and found out that he was the leader of the Lion Guard by his father , Simba.

"Maybe. But I'm just worried, Rani. I just really hoping that things wouldn't be anything like I went through at his age. "

Ono, the Smartest came flying in, as he wanted to see his friend since the birth of the cubs.

"Your majesties." He bow in respect as Rani and Kion chuckle at the egret's attitude.

"Oh, there is no point of calling us that, Ono. It's just us." Rani said, smiling at her friend.

"So, I take it that you woken up too early. Is it about Mufusa again?" The egret asks, being curious about why Kion and Rani be awake so early.

"Yes. Apparently." Kion said, as he rubs his eyes, "But it seems like things would be changed . I really hope you can keep a close eye of Janna and Mufusa. "

"Hey, what are friends for?" The egret said, chuckling at his friend, as the king thought about his family back at the Pridelands.

"I hope that everything is all right back at Pride Rock. I haven't seen Kiara and Kovu since my coronation." Kion said, curiously.

"I'm sure that Zazu would come and tell us. Kovu and Kiara are extremely busy as us with being rulers of our own kingdoms." Rani points out. 

Kion smiles at his mate as if he was reassured by her, but something tells him there is something more than meets the eye. 

"Oh, Mufusa. Please don't do anything stupid ." He thought in his mind, hoping that this wouldn't be any worse for the King of the Tree of Life.
