USJ 2/2

The bird monster pauses, its arm frozen in the air, as it turns to look at the staircase. I look up, unable to break free because of the grip it had on me, my eyes widening in shock as I realise All Might was standing there. He wasn't smiling. He looked angry.

"Well, well... It seems he decided to show up." The pale man mumbles, scratching at his neck again. I could see red lines on them, along with white lines I assumed were scars. The bird hybrid releases me, and I jump backwards, trembling and falling onto my ass in relief. The villains were all completely focused on All Might now. I scramble to my feet, all pain from my wound pushed to the back of my mind, and start running in the opposite direction. My heart pounds in my chest as I disappear into a forested area, running full pelt in a random direction until I'm sure they won't find me. I sag against a tree, my arms wrapped around myself as I tremble in fear.

'God, fucking... he... I... I almost died...' I think, trying to rein in my emotions. They were tumbling over eachother in a mess, jumbling my sensible thoughts together with the stupid ones. I didn't know where I was supposed to go now, or what I was going to do next. I didn't feel safe enough to go out into the open again. Eventually, I just close my eyes and pray that someone will find me.

~

After a while, I hear explosions from nearby. I assume it's Bakugou and find the strength to stand up, making my way through the forest towards the noise. Now that I wasn't in immediate danger and the adrenaline in me was dying down, my wound was throbbing with a newfound vigour. Roots seemed to reach up from the undergrowth as I passed through, tripping me up and making me stumble more than necessary.

'If I survive this, I'm not going in another forest ever again.' I decide, ducking underneath a branch. I guess I had headed in the wrong direction because, as the trees started getting thinner, the explosions were getting further and further away. I had come out of the trees next to the staircase leading up to where we first arrived, and I could see the distant shadows of my other classmates at the top. I cup my hands around my mouth while leaning against a post, calling out to them.

"I'M DOWN HERE!!" I shout, watching them for any signs they had heard. Shoji looks down and notices me, then notices the red bandage around my leg. It was a bit hard to believe it was white just a little while ago. He says something to the others and starts walking down to me, along with Sero.

"Are you okay?" Sero asks, taking in my appearance. I was certain I looked like I had just run a marathon, took a dive in a pool, gone through a blender and then pieced back together.

"Can you walk?" Shoji asks, nodding at my leg.

"I can walk but I can't climb stairs. Long story, don't ask." I say, noticing their questioning glances. Shoji nods, then reaches forwards and picks me up, cradling me in his arms as he starts walking up. My face turns red despite the fact that this was perfectly reasonable. Once we reach the top, I realise not everyone had been transported somewhere else. Uraraka and Sato were there, just as Iida bursts through the door. My eyes widen as I realise he had brought the entire UA hero course teaching staff with him, including Recovery Girl.

Shoji lowers me to the ground gently, laying me down flat as she takes a look at me, unwrapping my bandage.

"We'll have to treat this with proper medicine and stitches. Your stamina is too low for me to use my quirk. Can you hold on a little longer?" she asks kindly, brushing some stray hair out of my face. I nod, wincing as her hand brushes the open wound.

"Sero, dear, can you come over here? I need you to use your quirk to wrap her leg up tight, but not so tight that it can't come off." She says. Sero nods and ties my leg up.

"We don't have bandages right now, so we'll have to settle for this." Shoji says, sitting beside me. I grin.

"Why are you all acting like I'm about to die? You have very little faith in me." I smirk. Recovery Girl gives me a serious look.

"You've lost a lot of blood. I'm surprised you're even conscious right now."

"Oh."

Sero chuckles at my reaction, earning a glare from me. He holds his hands up in mock surrender.

"Man, though, imagine the other guys' reactions to this. I'd bet they'd feel really guilty about not being able to save you. They're really protective." He says, winking playfully. I smirk, knowing that's exactly how they'd react. My mind unconsciously flicks to Alex, Lynn and Cole, and I wonder what they're doing right now. Definitely not bleeding out slowly from a shark bite.

~ Meanwhile ~

"HOLY SHIT, COLE! ALEX CALL AN AMBULANCE!!"

~ JK lol I just wanted to do that. It didn't really happen. Back to the story! ~

A sudden wave of dizziness overcomes me and I close my eyes, waiting for it to pass. Shoji was looking at me worriedly. I send him a shaky grin.

"If you guys don't mind, I think I need a nap. I'm really tired."

"No!"

I start in surprise at the sudden cry, realising it came from Recovery Girl.

"Shoji, keep her awake until the ambulance arrives. If she goes to sleep, her heart will slow down and she might not..." she trails off, not needing to continue. My face pales at the implication and I nod, keeping my eyes open.

"Worry not, my dear (Y/N), for I shall regale you with tales of my online experiences!" Sero declares, striking a pose. I chuckle, settling down to listen no matter how tired I was. After at least fifteen different stories and the mention of boobies, an ambulance arrives and I'm loaded onto it, the doors closing with a click behind me.
