Lunch Rush
I was daydreaming in class when Aizawa said something I hadn't heard and then everyone jumped to their feet, waving their arms in the air, shouting "pick me, pick me!" and startling me out of my daydream. I look around in confusion, not noticing how Kirishima was holding back laughter at my expense.
"Everyone be quiet!" Iida suddenly shouts, his voice clear over the clamour of theirs. A hush falls, even over Bakugou. "A class president should be someone that everyone agrees on. I suggest we hold a vote!"
Oh. They were choosing who would be the class president. I place my head down on my desk again and go back to daydreaming, but I couldn't stop listening to what everyone was saying.
"Everyone will just vote for themselves if we do that, though." Kaminari calls.
"All the more reason to do it this way! Whoever gets the most votes will obviously be most suited for the job!"
"I guess that's true..."
"So it's a matter of who's the most popular now. Not who's the most capable. Great." I mutter, my voice lost to everyone except Todoroki. I feel his glance sent at my back but he doesn't say anything.
"Sir, is this allowed?" Iida asks, directing the question towards Aizawa, who was now slumped against the wall in his sleeping bag.
"I don't care how you decide, just as long as you do by the end of the day."
Iida starts cutting up pieces of paper for us to write who we'll vote for, and I write Yaoyorozu on mine. She just seemed to be the most collected and refined of us all. I fold it in half and hand it back, then rest my head on my arms and tune out. A few minutes later, Iida announces the votes.
"It's been decided! The class president will be (Y/N), and the vice president will be Yaoyorozu!"
My head shoots up from my desk, my eyebrows raised, and I see projected on the screen that I had four votes. Four.
"Who voted for me and what did I do to you to deserve such torture?!" I cry, looking around, my eyes locking on Kirishima, Kaminari and Sero laughing. That didn't explain the fourth vote though. A cool hand taps my shoulder and I look to my right, registering Todoroki's expression.
"I thought you were upset that we were all voting due to you saying it was about popularity, and I wanted to make you feel better." he says shamelessly. I groan and slam my head onto the desk, wondering if it was too late to stage my own death to get out of this.
"Come on (Y-Y/N), I'm sure it's not that bad!" Midoriya says encouragingly. I sigh heavily and turn my head to the side, glaring at the other boys who were still snickering. The lunch bell rings suddenly, startling me, and everyone starts packing up and walking out to the food court.

"Why are you so upset about being class president?" Sero asks. He had joined our group yesterday and had so far done nothing but annoy me. Now, he was hanging upside-down from a tree, his arms crossed in front of him to stop his shirt from falling up.
"Because I'm too lazy for this!" I cry, flopping down onto the grass starfish style. The green blades tickle my face and I sneeze. Kaminari pats my head.
"Don't worry, Ki- (Y/N). I'm sure you'll do great." He says, stumbling over his words.
"What did you just almost call her?" Sero asks. Kaminari shifts his weight uncomfortably and avoids the question.
"Don't worry about it. What does a class president even do?"
"Hell if I know." I say, rolling onto my back and knitting my hands behind my head, staring up at the sky. An alarm suddenly starts blaring through the buildings a short distance away.
"Warning: Security breach level 3. Villains have breached the campus. Please evacuate to the main hall in a calm, orderly fashion."
Nothing was calm or orderly after that. Some people start screaming. I get to my feet and follow the boys as they start running through the food court, then disappear into the massive sea of bodies shoving eachother aside in their panic. I get pushed in by someone running in behind me and almost fall, catching myself on the shirt of someone else. They disappear before I can get a look at their face.
'God damn it, it's like a mosh pit in here.' I think, gritting my teeth as I try to get through. I somehow get pushed to the window, pressed up flat against it without a single opportunity to get away. Someone's arms slam against the glass on either side of my head, stopping them from smashing against me and giving them some leverage to push back into the crowd. I look up at the same time as they look forwards, our eyes locking together. His hair was an indigo-violet colour, his eyes the same mesmerizing shade. Heavy bags were underneath them, accenting the vibrant purple. His jaw drops open as he looks at me, his eyes wide. Someone shoves past him, pushing him further towards me, and I find his face inches from mine, our chests pressed up together.
"Uh... hi there." I say over the screaming, my eyes wide. He seems at a loss for words, his mouth opening and closing in shock. His staring was making me extremely uncomfortable and I was slightly worried that he had literally been stunned.
"Y-you're..." he stutters, stepping forwards so our legs were touching now. I shrink back, my concern inflating tenfold. He doesn't seem to notice.
"W-what? What is it?" I ask, wishing I could disappear.
"You're stunning." He breathes, his voice so soft I could hardly hear it. The massive crowd of people suddenly stops, staring up at something above the doorway. I tear my eyes away from the boy caging me in and raise an eyebrow at Iida, who was balancing precariously on the neon green exit sign.
"Everybody, please calm down! It's just the media!" he shouts, his legs trembling. I can't help but snicker at the pose and his serious expression. People start dispersing, the panic of an impending villain attack disappearing. The boy with the purple hair didn't leave, though. He didn't even move.
"What's your name?" he asks, turning my attention back to him. Nobody had noticed us yet and I was starting to feel my anxiety kicking in.
"I-I'm, uh... I'm..." I stutter, pressing myself back.
"(Y/N), where are you?" Kaminari's shout reaches us. The boy in front of me seems to snap back to himself and steps back, his eyes wide, just as Kaminari walks around the corner.
"There you are! Geez, you're really hard to find." He says, smiling at me as he walks up to us. I look away from him and realise the guy with the purple hair had already started to walk away, a hand over his eyes.
"Uh... yeah. Sure."

"I, um... I think Iida should be the class president." I say, trembling as I stand out the front of the class. I wasn't comfortable with everyone's eyes on me and I could tell it was showing. Plus, I really did think Iida would make a good class president. For some reason, though, not a lot of people seemed convinced, so I press on.
"He was really calm during the evacuation and managed to get everyone else to calm down. A-and I really don't want to be the president..." I mutter, hanging my head. Thankfully, Kirishima jumps in too.
"I agree. He kind of looked like a stop sign when he was up on that doorway." He says, laughing quietly at the memory. After the majority of the class agreed, I sat down in my desk with a heavy sigh of relief and sagged like a wilted flower. I was never doing any type of speech ever again. Ever.
"I'm sure you would've made a good class president, if you wanted to." Todoroki says, staring at me with a neutral expression.
"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Todoroki." I say, giving him a smile. The corner of his mouth quirks up but other than that, his expression doesn't change. The rest of the day was uneventful, but for some reason, I couldn't get rid of the thought of the boy with purple hair.
