Many many years ago, centaurs used to roam the land freely, until a centaur called Chey brought all of them together into one colony, later becoming the ruler of the kingdom called Sintara.

Today, Chey was galloping down a trail in her kingdom when she saw a black glare fly past. Stopping, she turned and watched the shadow take the form of a human.

"You, North Shadow," said Chey. "Are not supposed to be here. Leave at once."

"I'm here to get you and take you to my queen, Yaritsa." said the northerner. "Of the Kingdom of North Shadow."

"I should've seen this coming," muttered Chey.

She grabbed her bow--her favorite, with the green ribbon and the old-timey carvings that wrapped around the base--and her arrows and simply shot the guy, who quickly turned into a shadow, the arrows going right through him. Chey grabbed another arrow, one marked with a sun symbol, and shot it at the shadow, terrifying him. The shadow man knew exactly what that arrow could and would do to him (North Shadow people's weakness is bright light).

He turned back into a person and when the sun arrow hit him he was immediately blinded, causing him to fall over. Chey walked up to the man on the ground as a crow landed right in front of the him, transforming into the queen of South Shadow, Ayanna.

Ayanna jumped up and punched Chey in the face, causing her to fall over.

"I guess I'll help this Northerner out," said Ayanna. "If he puts in a good word to the queen for me."

Chey jumped up and clapped her hands. Rain began to fall.

"I control water. You'd better run," threatened Chey.

"From what, a half horse?" mocked Ayanna. "You make me laugh. I'm the queen of crows. You should be scared."

They stared at each other for a while as if they were having a starring contest until Ayanna snapped her finger and bolted behind a tree.

But Chey was quick and saw the crows coming. She thrust out her hands, causing sharp little water bullets to shoot out at the crows and killing all of them.

Ayanna, seeing this massacre, came out from her hiding place and just looked at Chey, her eyes turning black. Black, tar-like tears dripped down her face and her head began to shake. She just floated off the ground and...disappeared into thin air.

Chey, frightened, galloped back to her kingdom a instructed General Cheryl to prepare Sintara's troops.

The war had started.
