"King, my Lord, General Luke is starting a civil war," a servant informed the king. "He wants to join East Shadow."

"Don't call me "Lord" or "King," James. We're friends," replied King Dave.

"Sorry," muttered James.

"And what a fool!" exclaimed the king. "Why would he switch from the strongest army to the weakest?"

"If he takes part of Hope to East Shadow, he will get to be king of that kingdom," clarified James.

"I'll bet no one is joining, we're the best kingdom, anyway."

"No," corrected James. "Half of our army is joining."

King Dave quickly turned a grabbed his sword, instructing James to order the soldiers to meet in the main hall. He then grabbed his leather coat and headed out, seeing everyone who was still there already gathered in the hall.

David got up on a stand and said, "Why is everyone leaving?"

"So they will be safe during the war" said a random guy from the crowd.

"What war?"

"Some witch told General that if they joined the East Shadow Kingdom they would survive the 3 year war."

"We never had a 3 year war!" Frustrated, the king stepped down from the stand. Just then, James ran into the hall.

"LUKE IS COMING!" He yelled. "LUKE IS COMING!"

Everyone quickly readied themselves and ran outside to protect the Kingdom of Hope.

"Stay here, James," commanded King Dave.

"No," protested James. "I will fight for hope!"

"No, you will sta-"

Dave was cut off by a loud BOOM. He ran outside to find General Luke shooting cannons. Most of Hope's men were down already.

The king unsheathed his sword and began working through the first line of Luke's troops, soon going to the scecond, then third. When he reached the cannon, he heard someone yell from beside the cannon, and Dave looked up to see the cannon pointing at him.

He turned and bolted just as the cannon went off, with power so great that he was blown backward into the main hall, just from the wave of the cannon.

James saw the whole thing through the window, and when the king landed next to him in the hall, James slung him over his shoulder and carried him into the woods.
