Chapter 2: (part 1)
Previously, the beasts thought they found someone who could save them, but she turned out to be an evil lying witch. Partially because she betrayed them in cannon. Mostly because I hated her guts when I first 'met' her. But with Rosalind Price a traitor, can the beasts really hope to find the people who can break the spell in time? Or would the next person only make things worse?
Jemma Simmons
I inhale through my nose. I had to find Fitz! He's been missing since the battle of New York. The Fight of the Twin Angels.
I had finally tracked him down to a place that had no name. I seemed to vaguely recall that it had been a state. I wonder how everyone, including me, have forgotten it's existence and name.
I only hoped that Fitz was here, and not some wild beast who ate Fitz. I have heard of beasts in this section of unclaimed land.
I gently open the gate. It creeps open. A black beast with a deer tail and ears. It's eyes are a familiar piercing brown. The beast is well muscled, his wolfish snout and sharp fangs make him look fierce. The weirdest part was the spikes running down his back that were hedging their way upward and the tail that was cat shaped, but looked sharpened. Like a pencil point. He looks scary and strangely familiar. He stands in front of a large, creepy, broken down castle.
"Simmons!" the beast exclaims in panic. "I-I-I-" The creature can't seem to finish it's sentence. It can speak. Interesting. I was going to have to investigate. Brief thoughts of dissection fills my head, but I shake them off. This being may be dangerous, but it was alive and sentient. I can check out it's biological features later..
I wonder how it hunts. That would be interesting to watch! "What are you!" I ask excited. "You are obviously unlike any biological organism anyone has ever encountered. I'm going to want a blood sample!" Only then do I realize that the creature has called me by name. "And ... how do you know my name?"
"I'm ... I've met you before." His voice seems scarily familiar. He ducks away, like he expects me to beat him. I feel a tang of sympathy. "Simmons, I'm ... Grant Ward. I'll explain while I lead you to Fitz."
I stiffen. All feelings of sympathy are gone. For that matter, dissection doesn't seem like that bad of an option now. Even vivisection, a diabolical part of science, starts to hold appeal.
Ward hurt Fitz!
Before I knew what I was doing, I charged towards Ward. Aiming to kill. He looks grim, and simply picks me up. "Come on, Simmons! Fitz is fine."
I stop, and he sets me down. "Fine. Lead me to Fitz."
He turns and leads me deeper into the forest. I don't know why there are so many trees. Eventually we reach another castle. Ward drops to all fours, and knocks on the door. He gruffly shouts through it, "Fitz, it's Ward!"
