Elvis lay curled up in a warm spot he'd never seen before. It was dark and soft. It just so happened to be Maybeck's favorite jacket.
The cat lay asleep in his new found 'bed', unaware of what was happening around him.
"PHILBY WHAT IS YOUR CAT DOING IN MY JACKET?!?"Maybeck began to yell angrily. Finn and Willa each grabbed hold to one of the boy's arms, as they had done many times before when Maybeck was overly angered over a small issue. Charlene came to his side, doing her part in keeping Maybeck from being too harsh on Philby or his sleeping cat. She lay a hand on his shoulder,"He's just a cat. He couldn't have known any better. It is a pretty comfortable jacket, you know that, I know that, now Elvis knows that too."
Willa widened her eyes at her friends remark which made it seem like Maybeck had let her wear the prized jacket he wouldn't let anyone else touch. Charlene smiled back her, telling her with a glance that it had indeed happened and they would talk about this later.
"THAT CAT WAS STILL IN MY JACKET. GET THAT CAT AWAY FROM MY JACKET BEFORE I DO MYSELF."
Philby was removing the grey blob of fur from the jacket, the feline was still fast asleep.
Willa couldn't help herself but to make this comment,"Better a jacket than crossing one of us over at random..."
Philby all but ran with the cat into his bedroom.
"If we let you go, promise not to hurt Philby or Elvis?" Finn asked.
"Does they promise to never come near my jacket?" he snapped back.
"I'll make sure of that,"Willa assured him.
"I'm sure they're sorry,"Charlene paused and lay a soft kiss on his cheek,"are you ok now?"
"I guess..."
The two slowly released the boy, slightly less tense since the girl has kissed him. She was the only one who had the power to calm him or even slightly waver an opinion. She was the only one with power over him period.
"It's ok to come out Philby!!!"Willa shouted.  The redheaded boy came down the hallway cautiously and slowly, he had left the cat in the bedroom and didn't seem to believe he was totally safe.
