Outer Worlds
"Mai! Mai, please! Wake up!" Sora begged her to get up but the girl keep on sleeping. He looked at a man with sad eyes, "Is she going to be okay, Leon?"
"She lost a lot of blood, but not enough to kill her." He said, "She just needs rest."
Mai's glasses were completely broken and she had a bandage around her wound. The Angel of Valhalla silently watched her as Sora looked at the broken glasses and sighed.
"Good..." He sadly smiled at the redhead.
A girl with black hair giggled, sitting next to her on the bed, "Are you her boyfriend?"
Sora got defense and he blushed, "She's not my girlfriend!"
"Okay, okay... Geez, I was just curious." Yuffie smirked and Sora pouted.
"I still can't believe it..." Leon said, getting both of their attention.
"Believe what?" Sora asked.
"Kweh! Kweh!" The white chocobo chick flew in a circle above Sora's head. He looked at him. "Kweh!"
"Do you realize what that is?" Yuffie asked, "A chocobo. And not just any other chocobo, it's a white one!"
"What's so special about it?" Sora asked.
"They say the white chocobo is reincarnated from a spirit known as the Angel of Valhalla." Leon said, leaning against the wall, "Also, it is said when someone is chosen by this bird to be it's caretaker, that person has great power."
"...Like?" Sora leaned in wanting to know more.
Leon shrugged and Yuffie said, "The legend is vague and we don't know what that power is but it's real! That girl has been chosen for some reason."
Sora looked at the two keys leaning against the door frame. "Could it be the Keyblade that the chocobo saw in her?"
"Who knows?" Leon shrugged and Mai stirred, alerting Sora.
"Mai!" He shouted and she slowly opened her eyes mid way. She sat up and looked around, blankly. She turned towards Sora and blinked. "M-Mai?"
She tilted her head, "I'm sorry... Who... are you?"
At first he didn't believe her. He giggled, "Come on, Mai! Do you expect me to believe that?"
She blinked more and what he saw in her eyes was confusion and timidness. His smile disappeared.
"Sorry, but I don't know you..."
Tears brim his eyes and shook his head, "No... No! You can't forget! What about Riku and Kairi? Mai, it's me! Sora!"
"Sora?" her response sounded like she didn't have a clue. He tightly shut his eyes and tears ran down his face.
"Mai..." Their keyblades transported to their hands and Mai blinked at it. Sora sighed with a sad smile, "That's a keyblade."
"Key...blade?" She did an experimental swing and looked at it closely.
"I can believe that they would choose you two." The brunette man said, "The worlds must be desperate need of help if the girl."
Sora growled, "Well, the chocobo chick choose her, so she could be really strong!"
"Chocobo?" she looked at it and it flew off Sora's spikey hair. It landed on her lap and curled up.
"The Angel of Valhalla to be accurate!" Yuffie said.
"I want to go home! Back to the way it was! Mai remembers me, I know where my friends are, and..." He gasped and stood up, "Wait happened to our home? Our island?! Riku... Kairi..."
"You know what? I really don't know..." Leon looked to the black haired ninja after a long pause, "Yuffie, let's go meet with Aerith-"
"LEON!" She pointed to the center of the room and a heartless was there.
"Yuffie, go!" Leon got his gunblade out and Yuffie ran out of the room. Sora summoned his keyblade and Mai's automatically appeared in her hand. "Mai, Sora, let's go!"
"Okay!" Sora grabbed her wrist, and followed Leon. Mai was like a zombie but still took the bandage off as they were running through the Alleyway. They ran towards the Third District as well as fighting heartless. Sora watched her closely to make sure she wasn't going to hurt. She saw him and slightly blushed, however, she didn't know why.
"Mai, can you see?" Sora asked her.
"Sort of..." She shrugged. She heard screaming and seen a duck and a dog fall towards the spikey haired boy. "Look out!"
He looked up and tried to run but was trampled by them. Mai gasped, "Are you okay?"
The duck and the dog saw her and Sora's keyblade. "The keys!"
"Kweh, kweh!" The chocobo chick flew to them.
"And there's the Angel of Valhalla!" The duck said.
"That could only mean..." The dog trailed off.
"The Princess!"
The ground trembled and stone barriers blocked the exits. Mai looked around and finally up. A huge Armour Heartless slam down in several pieces.
"What is that?!" Sora asked.
"Heartless!" The duck answered and they got ready. As they fought together, Mai noticed that they were all working together as a team and it worked.
After the fought the mega heartless, it started tremble, fell apart into pieces and glowed as it disappeared. But before it vanished, a heart from the heartless floating up the sky. She couldn't help but wonder what that was and where it went.
"Your highness!" The dog and duck bowed to Mai and she blinked.
"Highness?" She asked.
"Wait, Mai's a princess?" Sora asked, blushing.
"It's the legend of the white chocobo." Leon said, walking up to them. "I forgot to tell you guys this but the girl chosen by the chocobo is to be the Princess of Twilight. I still know what power she holds."
"So you came looking for the key bearers, right?" Mai asked and they nodded.
"They too have been searching wielders of the keyblade." Leon said.
"Hey, how about you two come with us!" The dog said, "We can go to other worlds on our vessel!"
"I wonder if we'll find Riku and Kairi..." Sora said, looking at Mai. She had a small smile.
"Riku... Kairi..." She whispered and Sora widened his eyes. She giggled, "I don't know anyone like that but the Kairi girl might be one for you!"
He sighed and his heart throbbed, "No... I like... someone else."
"Well, we'll find them somewhere!" Mai positively said.
'I found you.' Sora wanted to say. He saddened at the thought. She saw this and frowned, feeling upset to see him like this. Yet she didn't know why.
"But you can't come looking like that." They looked at the duck. "No frowning, no sad face, okay?"
"Yeah, you gotta look funny like us!" The dog said.
"This boat runs on happy faces!" Duck said.
"Happy?" Mai and Sora looked at each other. Sora personally didn't like she was frowning. So he thought of a way of making her laugh- by making a silly face at her.
She covered her mouth and bursted out with laughter. She then straight out and smushed her cheeks together, crossing her eyes. He laughed at her and she giggled with him. The dog and duck laughed at their behavior.
She stopped laughing but still smiled. She closed her eyes. Something about this made her think.
A young boy chased her around and a silver haired boy as well as a girl with auburn hair was there too. The image flashed to the young boy putting his hands behind his head.
"Sora? We'll be best best friends forever and ever... Won't we?" She asked him in a younger voice.
"Til the day we die!" The boy said.
"Mai!" Sora snapped her out off it. She blinked and looked around.
"Sora? Where are we?" She asked.
"Uh, Traverse Town... Why?" He asked.
"Weren't we on the islands looking for Kairi and Riku?" She asked.
"Yea-" he stopped and looked at her, "Mai? Do you remember me?"
She growled, "What makes you think I don't?"
He hugged her at an instant, "Mai! You're back!"
She blushed at his touch, "Um... What?"
"When you woke up back at Leon's house, you didn't recognize me or remember Riku or Kairi." She gasped at this.
"I... WHAT?" She yelled and pull away from the hug. He nervously laughed. "I forgot you guys?"
"Well, you remember now, right?" He asked and she smiled.
"Yeah!"
Sora turned to the other two, "Alright, we'll go with you guys!"
"Donald Duck!" The duck said and put his hand in the middle.
"Name's Goofy!" He put a hand on top of Donald's.
"I'm Sora!" He followed their actions as did the redhead.
"Mai." She said with a smile. "We'll be the best of friends!"
"Yeah!" The boys shouted.
"All for one and one for all!" Goofy said and a light glistened and radiated from their hands.
"Whoa, what's that?" They suddenly heard a voice inside there heads.
"Nothing will ever drive you apart from each other."
Mai teared up and whispered, "Mom..."
"What just happened?" Donald asked.
"I think that light is going to keep us together even when we're apart." Mai had a small smile, thinking of her mother. '...Thanks for being with me, mama.'
AN Yay! I finally got passed writer's block! *Insert chorus angel song her*
