Chapter 59: Movement in The Shadows
Back at Radiant Garden, Riku, Mickey, and the Earthland wizards were talking to Ienzo, Levy, the Thunder Legion, Aeleus, and Dilan.
Mickey: What?! We're too late?!
Ienzo: Yes. Even would know all about the replicas from his time as Vexen in the Organization. He was recompleted like the rest of us.
Aeleus: But he didn't regain consciousness like Dilan did.
Ienzo: After Lea left, he must have woken and taken his leave.
???: Or he could have been kidnaped.
Everyone turn and saw two figures entering the room: Kagura Mikazuchi and Millianna, wizards of Mermaid Heel.
Dilan: Kagura. Millianna. I thought you two went into town to get some more supplies.
Millianna: The other members are doing it. Jet and Droy are guarding the front gate.
Dilan: Alright.
Kagura then saw Jellal. Both of them stared at each other with a calm expression on their faces, making the entire room uncomfortably silent.
Aeleus: (whispers to Dilan) What's with them?
Dilan: (whispers back) I don't know.
But they then smiled at each other.
Jellal: Kagura
Kagura: Jellal.
Jellal: How is guarding the palace?
Kagura: So far no suspicious activities. How is your journey?
Jellal: We're still working on finding the Keyblade Wielders.
There was a pause until Riku went up to her.
Riku: My name is Riku. I'm-
Kagura: I know who you are and what you are doing. Ienzo told me. I heard you're really good with the Keyblade.
Riku: Yeah.
Kagura: For some reason, you remind me of myself.
Riku: Really?
Kagura: Yes. I hope you take care of the Organization.
Riku: Thanks.
Millianna: Meow! A mousey!
She then grabbed Mickey and hugged him tight.
Mickey: (uncomfortable) You're squeezing me!
Millianna: Look at the big mouse!
Kagura: Millianna, put him down.
Millianna: (disappointed) Alright.
Millianna put Mickey down, who was a little dizzy.
Freed: To go back what you said, Kagura. I don't think he was kidnapped. Where would the kidnappers have gone in this world?
Ienzo: He has point.
Aeleus: Dilan and I went out and we turned the whole town upside down to find him.
Yukino: And you didn't find him?
Aeleus: Nothing, there's no sign of him.
Mickey: (frowns) That's not good.
Riku: What about his research?
Ienzo: Unfortunately, his work on the replicas was incomplete. There may still be documents around, but all of them from well before he made any significant progress.
Mickey: Do you have any idea where he might go?
Ienzo: There's no place that he could go now that he's human. He has no means of leaving this world.
Mickey: (thinks of an idea) The dark corridors—
Ienzo: Are beyond his faculties and mine now.
Minerva: So he left to complete his research?
Riku: (comes to realization) But not everyone's. Let's go back to what Kagura said before. What if Even was taken? Because the Organization has tactical members to get him.
Mickey: Of course! The Organization could also use the replicas!
Jellal: To fill out their ranks.
Mickey: We'd better go tell Master Yen Sid. And Sora, and the others, too!
*???*
The entire area was rock. No grass, no trees, not anything. Thirteen rock pillars were standing tall in the rocky area. On one of them was Saix, a member of the Organization and another black hooded figure.
Saix: Humanity is a precious gift. And yet you desire to return to the Organization?
???: Oh, yes...of course. One eradication at Axel's hands was enough to learn where not to place my trust.
Saix: He gave you a second lease on life.
???: He ripped me away from the one thing I care about. I don't require humanity. Give me my research. I must see it to fruition, no matter the cost.
Saix: The replicas.
???: Yes. (evil chuckle) Soon they will replace, not just replicate. Given a heart, they can become just as real as any human.
Saix: (smirks) What excellent tidings. I would hate to think we invited you back into our ranks only for you to fail to deliver our final vessel...Vexen.
The figure removes his hood to reveal Vexen, but with golden yellow eyes instead.
He then chuckles then grins like a mad scientist as he plans on beginning his work on his research on replicas.
*the sacred forest*
Back in the forest, Kairi, Lisanna, Mirajane, Cana, Lea, Elfman, and Lyon were all sitting down have a lunch break.
Lea: So, Natsu just goes around destroying public property?
Mirajane: Yeah, that's our Natsu.
Cana: The only thing he knows is destroying things. (still drinking)
Lea: How can you drink all that? (points at the piles of empty barrels)
Lisanna: Don't worry about it, that's how she is.
Kairi: Hey, Mira? That magic energy you guys use in your world, what was it called again?
Mirajane: Ethernano?
Kairi: Yeah, I was wonder what would happen if our Keyblades absorb any Ethernano.
Lisanna: We could give it a try.
Lea: Speaking of, where's that other guy? Mest was it?
Lyon: He said he had some business to take care of. So he left the forest.
Kairi: Will he come back?
Elfman: Don't know. But whatever he's doing, I hope it's manly!
Lea: You gotta stop saying that. (everyone else laugh)
*Earthland*
Back in Earthland, Makarov left the guild to meet with the members of the Magic Council to finalize a plan to deal with the Organization.
The Magic Council contacted Makarov since he was the one who met Sora on the day the Heartless attack Magnolia. He also brought Macao to help him get around.
When the two entered the council room, they were greeted by two of the council members, Jura Neekis and Warrod Sequen.
Jura: Ah, Master Makarov. It's good to see you again.
Makarov: It's nice to get some fresh air once in a while. Macao, you can leave. I'll be with them.
Macao: Yes, Master. (exits)
Makarov: And find some good beer!
Warrod: (watering the plants) How is everyone at the guild doing?
Makarov: They're doing good so far. Most of them have gone with the Keyblade Wielders while some stayed behind to defeat the Heartless that are wandering around Earthland.
Jura: Yes. Those ferocious monsters that are wreaking havoc everywhere. Everyone in Fiore are in a panic and refused to leave their homes, fear of being attack. We've sent some Rune Knights to defend the towns, but even they have trouble defeating them. We tried to look for some information about them, but all that we could find was a history book called 'The Age of Fairy Tales'. The book was so old that we could barely read it.
Warrod's mind: If Mavis was here, she would devise a plan to defeat them.
???: We have to do something to defeat those monsters.
Everyone then saw another council member entering the room, Wolfheim.
Warrod: (smile) Wolfheim, you made it.
Wolfheim: How could you water plants at time like this? What's wrong with you?
Warrod: Oh, Wolfheim. Your name is still bazaar, even when I say it. (laughs) Just joking.
Wolfheim: Damn you! (transforms into his beast form)
Jura: (worried) Wolfheim! Don't do this!
Makarov: (fearful) I'm already broken as it is, I can't get even more beaten up!
???: Stop! Enough of this!
They all saw the last council member enter the room, Draculos Hyberion.
Draculos: I apologies for the delay. But now is not the time to fight among ourselves. We have pressing matters to discuss.
Wolfheim deactivated his transformation while Makarov and Jura sighed with relief.
???: Hey, hey, look who's here!
The group turned to face four more individuals as they made their appearance.
The one who spoke was a middle-aged man with a well-built muscular body. He had brownish-colored skin, with long and spikey dark red hair that stretched down from his head to the back of his waist. He wore a black, unzipped, jacket to expose his muscular chest, which carried a series of scars. His jacket carried a red flame-like pattern on the bottom and the end of the sleeves. He also wore black pants and boots and appeared to have a sheathed sword at his back.
(I do not own this OC as well as three others, they belong to Ironprime117 from Fanfiction)
On the man's right was a young woman who appeared to be clad completely in golden knight-like armor. She had long black hair and green eyes and carried a friendly smile.
Across from her, on the man's left, was another woman whose face and features were hidden by a black hooded robe. The only distinguishable features she had appeared to be long black hair.
Next to the woman was a short, frail old woman, with tan skin and deep, green eyes. She wears a white colored knit cap on her head with bronze bells on each side, a dark green robe with white patterns encircling the wrists and base, and brown, open toed sandals.
Numerous bracelets are worn on her wrists, and a red, beaded sash is wrapped over her right shoulder. She is often seen carrying a staff.
Man: Maky, good to see you're as short and old as usual.
Makarov: And good to see you haven't matured all that much either, Bruni. (looks at the women) Lady Aurora, Lady Gandelina, I see the years have been treating you two well. At least for Lady Aurora as I can actually see her face.
Aurora: (smirk) Just try not to grab my ass again, old man. Or else you're in for a beat-down.
The mysterious Gandelina simply smiled and nodded.
Gandelina: Good to see you too.
Old woman: Indeed. It's been a long time, Makarov.
Makarov: (nodded) It has Matier, I'm pleased to see that you've five have returned from your journey at the south continent at one piece.
???: We have indeed.
Everyone turned their attention toward the deeper insides of the building to see a woman who appeared in her late 30s to mid 40s. She wore an aqua-green dress that seemed like something a queen would wear, complete with the cape of the same color flowing down to her heels. She had aqua-colored green hair with aqua-colored eyes as well. In her right hand was a fancy trident that she used like a walking stick.
Her name was Kurenai, the strongest female wizard of the Ten Wizard Saints, and the Guild Master of Mermaid Heel.
Kurenai: (smile) Sir Makarov. I am happy to see you again.
Makarov: (smile) Lady Kurenai. I'm sorry to have made you worry so. I see the years have been good to you as well.
Kurenai: It's quite alright. I'm impressed how your guild hold off an invasion from the Alvarez Empire. You must be quite proud.
Makarov: The same can be said of Mermaid Heel.
Kurenai: Oh yes, my daughters have made this old woman quite proud. Alright, now that everyone is all here, let us get this meeting underway.
Draculos: I guess you know why you're here.
Makarov: It's because our guild was the first to discover what the monsters are and who was behind the attacks.
Matier: That's part of it. You said you got this information from the boy that wields a Keyblade?
Makarov: Yes. Sora said that Master Xehanort is gathering his members so that they will clash with his friends. He has already declared war on them.
Wolfheim: How can you trust him?
Makarov: The kid just save Magnolia and I didn't sense any dark magic from his weapon. I believe him.
Draculos: Since this Master Xehanort is the one who is causing destruction to our world, we have no choice but to go to war. I wish there was a peaceful manner to this, but it seems that they aren't the types to negotiate.
Jura: How strong are their members?
Makarov: I not sure myself. They must have the same strength as the Spriggan Twelve, since my brats had a tough time defeating their monsters. They have thirteen members, that is the same number of Spriggan Twelve members if you add Zeref.
There was a subtle face-twitch from mysterious Gandelina, which only Kurenai appeared to notice.
Wolfheim: If we have to fight them, I hope it would end up better than when we all have to fight God Serena.
Aurora: There's another issue to discuss. A few days ago, the Magic Council was attacked by demons.
Bruni: It was small group of demons and their attack has failed, however what actually caught our interest is that they claim to be apart of a new Dark Guild.
Makarov: A Dark Guild?
Gandelina: We're not sure at first, but when we saw an emblem on their bodies, it confirmed our suspicious that a Dark Guild was made recently.
Matier: Unlike the Dark Guilds from the Baram Alliance, this one is consider of humans and demons.
Aurora: One of the demons that were still alive said the name of the guild was called Devil Hand.
Bruni: Man, as if the demons were bad enough. Now we have face the monsters, Organization XIII, and a recent Dark Guild.
Warrod: We need to find a way to counter them.
Draculos: You are correct. Which brings me to why I called you in today. There is a man here that is agreeing to give us information on how to fight them. He said he knows the boy, and he is a retired Keyblade Master.
Jura: Is this man from another world?
Draculos: Yes. May I present Master Yen Sid of the Mysterious Tower.
They all saw Yen Sid enter the room. Everyone had a serious look on their faces.
Yen Sid: Greetings. I take it you are Master Makarov of the Fairy Tail guild and the rest of you are the members of the Magic Council.
Kurenai: You said you have information for us about Organization XIII?
Yen Sid: Yes. I shall tell you everything.
Elsewhere
It was a darkened cavern that the eldest son of Sparda, Vali, walked through. He had just finished meeting with the seven individuals that Arkham mentioned, those who's souls would be compatible with the demonic names needed for his goal.
Though they were humans, their own souls were each black enough in their own way that it surpassed the average demon.
Vali heard footsteps coming from the direction he was walking toward and saw his partner-in-crime coming toward him.
Vali: Arkham.
Arkham: Are you impressed with what I had assembled?
Vali: They will be sufficient enough. I noticed however that you are empty-handed.
Arkham: It would seem the Magic Council headquarters is a bit more secured than I had originally believed.
Vali: You've sent demons to that place and not only have they failed to kill the Wizard Saints, but you've already acquired unwanted attention.
Arkham: Attention was bound to be gained at some point in our little venture. And besides that, the demons I sent were minor creatures, things that would seem beneath the Magic Council's notice. I merely wished to test their soldiers, and now that I have knowledge of it.
Vali: Hmp.
Arkham: And what of your end? Did you manage to see her?
Vali: A demon that I had sent, too lowly of power for even my brother to sense, did indeed make confirmation. I myself already have a plan in place.
Arkham: Oh?
Before Arkham could question further; a large individual shrouded in a cloak suddenly appeared in front of Vali and bowed on its feet. It spoke in a deep voice that sounded somewhat reptilian.
???: Master Vali, you summoned me?
Vali: Indeed. You are to find the girl named Kairi, and bring her to me alive.
???: And if anyone tries to stop me?
Vali: Kill them.
???: As you wish, Master.
The being vanished from sight. Arkham looked somewhat questionably at Vali.
Arkham: You do not truly believe that demon can capture the girl, do you?
Vali: She has a potential that rivals the Keyblade's chosen one. I wish to know if she had developed any strength.
Arkham: You seem to take up the same tactic I used recently on the Magic Council. One that you criticized upon.
Vali: The Magic Council is little more than a nuisance, I'd prefer not to be annoyed. Fairy Tail has proven to be the challenge and not something I'll take my chances with.
