KINGDOM FALL
— 7. Violence

The following day, Robb and Annalys' army had arrived back at Riverrun. The Brotherhood Without Banners went back to their posts and Stannis headed back to Dragonstone, he and the kingdom of the North now allies.

In her and Robb's chambers, Annalys laid alone, slowly beginning to fall asleep. She had already planned to leave for King's Landing the following day. She even appointed men to bring her there while posing as Frey men.

The opening of her chamber's door led to Annalys' opening her eyes. She frowned, looking ahead to see Robb standing at the door, holding a pair of metal shackles in his hand.

"What are you doing?" Annalys asked groggily, slowly sitting up from laying in their bed.

She frowned, watching in confusion as Robb slowly began to walk toward where she laid in bed, "As much as I trust you enough to do what is right in King's Landing, our men think we shouldn't risk having their Queen in the Lannister's clutches." He explained to Annalys, causing Annalys' eyes to widen in alarm when realized what was going on.

Robb was trying to chain her up and imprison her.

Alarmed, Annalys knelt on the bed, cautiously holding her hands outward as a way to try to ask for mercy, "I'm a Lannister myself, Robb. They wouldn't hurt me if they think you're dead and there's no Starks for me to flee to," She quickly explained, stammering as she spoke to him because she was nervous, "I have to do this, Robb. You know this. Don't you trust me?"

Robb stood at the foot of the bed, holding the iron shackles in his left hand, "Of course I trust you!" Robb argued, surprisingly speaking in a calm tone. Annalys knew for a fact Robb hadn't thought of keeping her prisoner on his own. Someone gave him the idea, but who?

"But I can't let you risk your life. You're carrying my child. Perhaps even children," Robb explained to her, "What if something goes wrong?"

"It won't!" Annalys shouted at Robb, feeling uneasy about the whole ordeal.

Had Robb gone mad? Keeping her as a prisoner? She knew her husband and he would never do such a thing unless his men put him up to it, just as they did with Catelyn when she freed Jaime.

"I can't risk that. We don't know what may happen and there's no way I'll let you go there alone," He explained to her without a care in the world, "And I know you won't willingly stay, which is the reason for the shackles."

"You mean to keep me prisoner?" She asked Robb in disbelief. As Robb lunged forward to catch her, Annalys pivoted, hopping out of bed before he could catch her.

"Just until you come to your senses," Robb told her assuringly, as if he thought it would make matters better, "It's the only thing the men and I could think of."

"Are you mad!" She shouted at him, rushing over to the large table in the room. She picked up a metal mug, throwing it in Robb's direction.

Robb immediately ducked, the mug just missing the top of his head. Annalys glared at him angrily, picking up a book and throwing it in his direction as well. Once again, he dodged her. However, over and over, Annalys continued throw anything she could reach at Robb.

Soon enough, she picked up a clay bowl and threw it with all of the strength she had. Finally, Robb was too slow and the bowl ended up hitting him on the back of the head. He groaned in pain, clutching his head. While he was distracted, Annalys attempted to run past him, seeing as though it was the only way she could reach the door.

Unluckily for her, Robb recovered in just enough time to stop her before she reach the door. He wrapped her arms around her from the back, leaving her unable to fight back.

Annalys yelled in anger as she tried to fight against Robb, but his grip was too tight, "It must be done!" Robb tried to convince her, beginning to try and place the shackles on her wrists while still restraining her.

"I swear to you, I'm gonna make you suffer!" Annalys roared out, attempting to grab a fist full of Robb's hair.

Before he could react, Annalys yelled out, headbutting Robb in the face. He yelled out in pain, letting go of her as he clutched his nose.

Annalys began to run away, but knowing no other way, Robb extended his leg out, causing her to trip. Annalys screamed out as she fell to the ground, flat on her back. Robb moved closer, bending down and grabbing ahold of her left leg, "I bet you're taking pleasure in this, you bastard!" She shouted at him, wasting no time kicking him in the face.

Robb stumbled back as he clutched his nose, grunting in pain. He began to realize it was a mistake thinking he could chain her up. There was no way Annalys wasn't going down without a fight and Robb would be surprised if he didn't end up dead by the end of the night.

After recovering, Robb moved closer to Annalys once more. He grabbed onto her wrists and tried his best to shackle her, "I'll never forgive you for this!" She screamed at him, glaring at him hatefully as she continued to struggle against him.

"Aye, that may be so, but it's better than you being dead." Robb retorted angrily, blood already spilling from his nose.

"I'm going to King's Landing," Annalys complained, still not giving up on her decision.

"No, you're not!" Robb argued with Annalys, continuing to try and restrain her, which he seemed to have difficulty with.

"Yes...I...am!" She screamed, growling as she lifted her hands, clawing at his face, which led to him letting go of her wrists.

While he was stunned by the fact that she had just clawed him across the face with her nails, Annalys roughly slapped Robb across the face before kicking him in the groin. Robb grunted in pain an Annalys grabbed him by his arms, forcing him to fall beside her on the ground. Annalys stood up, looking down to see Robb had fallen face first into the ground as he cluched his groin.

She glared at him hatefully, panting for breath. She bent down, grabbing him by the shoulders before flipping his body over so that he was laying on his back. She climbed on top of him, straddling his waist.

His nose was bleeding and a trail of fingernail scratch marks ran down both of his cheeks. Annalys, on the other hand, sat there, without a single scratch on her. She roughly snatched the shackles from his grasp, tossing it across the room.

She looked back down at him, roughly grabbing a fist full of his curly auburn hair and forced him to lift his head so that their faces were just inches apart. He groaned in pain at her tight grip, but refused to look in her in the eye, knowing that he had been defeated.

Annalys growled under her beath, balling her left hand into a fist. She lifted her balled-up fist and extended her arm out, preparing to finish him off, "I should kill you for even thinking you could put me in chains," She told him with such anger and rage.

Robb knew for a fact that her lioness side was showing. She was queen. The lion ruled over all of the other animals, in the wild and believe it or not, in Westeros as well when someone referred to the Lannister family. He was a fool for thinking he could ever put a Lion in chains.

Robb seemed to have forgotten that when he tried to place the shackles upon Annalys' wrist. No matter what happened, Annalys would always come out on top, in the end.

"Yes, but you won't." He found himself responding, surprisingly sounding calm.

Annalys panted for breath, looking down at Robb. She tried to continue to glare at him, but in a way, she felt bad as she looked down at him.

Soon enough, she gave in, her eyes softening as they locked on the scratch marks on his face. They were deep, believe it or not, with a bit of blood dripping from them.

Annalys sighed in defeat, lowering her balled up fist, "Swear to me you'll never try something like that again," she insisted, beginning to speak in a calm tone, hostile no longer, "Swear to me, Robb, or I swear to you, I'll leave the Riverlands and you will never see me again."

Robb noticed the sadness in Annalys' eyes. She was being truthful, but it was clear that saying the words pained her. She didn't want to leave, but she felt it was necessary, given her own husband was trying to keep her prisoner.

"I swear," he promised in a soft tone, beginning to feel sad himself.

What the hell was happening to them? Physically fighting each other was so unlike them. Never in a million years did they ever expect themselves to do such a thing. Perhaps it was because they finally realized that even at each other's side, Robb was still a Stark and Annalys was still a Lannister, a relationship that was bound to never work.

Robb came from a family known to hold honor above all else. Annalys was from a family where power meant everything and to hell with honor. She was taught to put herself above all else. She was raised to be ruthless and to not show anyone who she truly was. They thought they knew each other so well, but in all honesty, they didn't.

More specifically, Robb didn't know who Annalys truly was. He only knew who she was with him.

In truth, Annalys had more of her mother in her than people may think when they met her. Most only saw the parts of Jaime in her, but in reality, she got a lot more than her looks from her mother.

And perhaps, in a way, Annalys and Robb were finally out of their honeymoon phase. They were both now nineteen years of age. They were king and queen and no longer children. They lived in Westeros, where there wasn't a truly happy ending for anyone. Annalys had realized that a long time ago, but Robb, in a way, made her forget. However, Robb was just beginning to do learn it.

Annalys let go of her grip on his hair and the back of Robb's head hit the wooden floor with a thud, causing him to grunt in pain.

Once recovering, Robb sat up from the ground, Annalys still straddling his lap. Their faces became just inches apart as they looked into each other's eyes.

Despite all the hostility they had towards each other just moments before, especially on Annalys' part, they now seemed to be calming done.

Annalys tried her hardest to glare at Robb and remain pissed at him, but found herself unable to. She roughly grabbed the sides of his face, holding it in her hands, "Gods, you make me want to kill you and fuck you at the same time," she bluntly confessed, her voice just above a whisper, "I want to hate you, but I can't."

"Which will it be?" He sarcastically asked, his voice just above a whisper as he referred to the first part of her confession.

Annalys remained silent for a long moment. Her eyes trailed down his injured face and down to his lips. She slowly looked back into Robb's blue eyes. He didn't say a word to her, waiting for her decision on what she was going to him.

Without hesitation, Annalys inhaled deeply, closing her eyes as she pressed her lips against his. Robb immediately closed his eyes but didn't kiss back.

Concerned by the fact that he wasn't kissing back, Annalys pulled away. Robb's eyes slowly opened to see concern written all over her expression. She removed her hands from cupping his face, having the feeling that he was still mad at her.

He immediately noticed the way she looked hurt by his rejection, which wasn't what he wanted to happen. He knew he had to calm her nerves. He wasn't mad at her any longer and he refused to let her believe that he was.

Robb cupped Annalys' face in his hands, wasting no time leaning forward. He pressed his lips against Annalys', which immediately led to her kissing him back. The kiss was hungry and rough, a lot like their first kiss, perhaps even more. Annalys trailed her hands down his chest, making sure not to touch his healing wounds.

She untied his shirt, just before attempting to pull it off of him without breaking the kiss just yet. Finally, they broke the kiss, Robb lifting off her shift, which left her bare in front of him.

Her baby bump wasn't noticable, seeing as though she was no more than two months along. Annalys wasted no time taking off Robb's shirt before pressing her lips against his once more. She began to unbuckle his pants, the two of them smirking into the kiss.

Robb and Annalys' relationship was messy and most of all, complicated, but in the end, they were real.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

The real question is, why do Robb and Annalys keep sleeping with each other on the floor when there's a bed like five feet away from them... 🤔🤔😂

Also, that chapter escalated quickly 😂

Robb was stupid for thinking he could imprisoner Annalys tho. Lmao
