KINGDOM FALL
64. Everyone But Me
That same night, Robb was cleaning up their room at the inn while Annalys was asleep in bed. Her left hand was wrapped up after the town's Maester tended to it. He informed Robb that she wouldn't be fully healed for at least six months, but Robb made no attempt to tell Annalys that.
He knew if she did, she'd probably end up attempting to fight before then, claiming she was "healed" when she actually wasn't. As she fell asleep, Annalys ended up telling Robb the story behind her black blood and he was shocked as to how he never realized it before.
Robb found himself filled with rage at the sight of the bruises scattered across Annalys' face and the gash across her forehead. He became even more enraged at the sight of her left hand. He recalled just hours before, hearing Annalys crying herself to sleep at the thought of never fighting again. She thought Robb couldn't hear her, but he did. He heard it all.
Without Annalys awake to check his impulses, Robb found himself exiting the room, heading straight for the room where the Riverlands men had contained the soldiers loyal to Stannis in.
____
Just a few hours later, after handling his 'business', Robb walked back into his shared room at the Inn with Annalys to find her still asleep. He walked over to her sleeping body, only to notice the way she seemed to be crying in her sleep as she flinched repeatedly. It gave him flashbacks of that night in the woods all over again.
Sitting down on the bed, Robb grabbed Annalys by the arm, attemping to shake her awake, "Annalys," He called out quietly, "Annalys, wake up. Anna--"
Before he could react, Annalys abruptly sat up from the bed, gasping as she suddenly pulled a dagger out from under her pillow and pressed it against Robb's neck.
Robb stared at Annalys with wide eyes, clearly not expecting her to do such a thing. Realizing it was just Robb, she slowly pulled the knife away from his neck, an apologetic look on his face, "I'm sorry. It's...instinct," She quietly apologized, feeling a bit awkward after what she had done.
Robb uneasily nodded his head in understanding, but didn't bother to question her on why she did such a thing out of "instinct".
"What were you dreaming about?" He found himself asking Annalys, who gave him a knowing look, "The White Walkers? Again?"
"They're real," Annalys argued, knowing that Robb still refused to believe her, which constantly frustrated her.
"Perhaps thousands of years ago, but not anymore." Robb replied in a calm tone, shaking his head slightly.
"Believe what you want to believe, I can't tell you any differently. I, however, believe they're still alive and reside beyond the Wall alongside the wildlings," Annalys explained, only to cut herself off as she began to think solely about the wildlings, "I wonder if the wildlings know that they're there."
"Who cares?" Robb complained, earning an eye roll from Annalys, "The wildlings are barbarians and raid the lands in the North constantly."
"What about Osha?" Annalys reminded Robb in an annoyed tone, "She wasn't all that bad."
Annalys realized something at that moment. After spending so many years fighting in a war alongside the Northmen, he began to have opinions just like theirs. Before then, he used to be just like Annalys. He used to be open-minded and was kind to people until they proved to be an enemy. He was different now, but Annalys didn't blame him for it. He just grew up.
"Do you remember when we first met her?" Robb reminded Annalys in a calm tone, "She didn't have good intentions and as I recall, you wanted to kill her."
"I did, but after meeting as many people as I have since then, I've realized that it isn't right to judge people solely because of where they are from or who they are raised by." Annalys informed Robb, who was clearly taken by surprise.
"So you believe the wildlings aren't bad?" Robb furrowed his eyebrows at Annalys, giving her a questioning look.
"I believe we shouldn't judge them solely because they were born on the wrong side of the Wall," She admitted without hesitation, much to Robb's shock and disbelief, "Most are probably just like us. They're just trying to survive long enough to grow up and have children of their own. Most just want to survive the long winter that is yet to come."
It became silent between them as Robb began to stare down at Annalys almost lovingly, clearly moved by her confession. No one in Westeros seemed to have opinions like hers.
Annalys weakly sat up, making it so that they were looking at each other from eye view.
Not being able to help himself, Robb placed a hand on the side of Annalys' face, leaning a bit closer. Annalys stared intently into Robb's blue eyes, waiting for him to kiss her, but for some reason, he didn't, "Can I...Can I kiss you?" He uneasily asked Annalys, who was confused by the fact that he was asking to kiss her.
It wasn't their first kiss and it definitely wasn't their last. Why was he being so gentle? They were never gentle when it came to kissing each other and bedding one another.
Annalys smiled softly, nodding her head in response to his question. Robb cupped Annalys' face with his hands and gently kissed her. Annalys immediately kissed him back, rougher than he was being with her. Robb wanted to go slow for once, thinking Annalys wanted that after what she had been through, but in the truth, she wanted quite the opposite.
After a moment, Robb pulled away and studied her expression, waiting for her approval. She remained silent, staring into Robb's eyes as she nodded her head in encouragement.
Robb leaned forward, softly pressing his lips against Annalys' as he cupped her face in his hands once more. They began to kiss passionately and Annalys laid back down on the bed with Robb laying on his side next to her.
They pulled away briefly, staring into each other's eyes for a long moment. They wanted nothing more than to say "I love you" to each other, but knew if they did so, everything would change. And that was the last thing they wanted.
Instead, Annalys and Robb smiled at each other, just before Robb leaned forward and kissed Annalys once more, running his free hand down her half-naked body.
_____
The following day, Annalys laid silently in bed, thinking hard on what she learned had happened to the Baratheon men. She knew for a fact that Robb must have been the one to do it.
As if on cue, Robb entered the room, carrying a plate of food for Annalys. She was staring down at her hand before he entered, which led to her sitting up and turning to him, "I brought you some food," He informed Annalys awkwardly, clearly not knowing what to say after what they did the night before.
They didn't actually sleep with each other, but that didn't mean they didn't spend their night in bed doing other things. All of it had been performed by Robb, who had intended to pleasure Annalys in ways that would make her forget about her injured hand for a long while. In a way, it did. For a time, at least.
It scared him, in all honesty, to know how much the inability to use her left hand changed Annalys. Of course, she would be able to use it once again in due time, but Robb could tell that she feared that even after she was healed, she wouldn't fight the same. He didn't blame her, though. That hand was practically her whole life.
"Any news?" Annalys suddenly asked, snapping Robb out of his thoughts, "Anything new happening in the Inn that I should know about?"
Robb squinted his eyes at Annalys, trying to study her features. She had the look on her face that told him she knew, causing him to become frustrated, "I'm sorry, alright?" He complained in annoyance, placing the plate of breakfast he had gotten for her down on the table, "I was furious. They hurt you, Annalys. I couldn't let them get away with that."
"They were my prisoners and now they're dead. One of them was a Velaryon. The lord of his castle. He had no male heir, either. I was going to ransom him and the others, but now, they're dead," She explained in a stern tone and Robb sighed in defeat, looking down at the ground in shame, "After this is all over, you will get away with this, but I will not. I will be the one blamed for this, not you. Their deaths will be blamed on me."
"I'll publicly announce that I was the one who killed them," Robb tried to assure Annalys, moving closer to her.
He didn't want her to be mad at him, not again. Even if she seemed pretty calm at that moment, he feared her mood would change significantly within seconds, just as it always seemed to. He had been practically kissing her ass for weeks in order to avoid arguments and try to win her back.
"You will do no such thing," Annalys argued and Robb frowned in confusion, "A war is on the verge of occurring between Stannis and I. You will take no part."
"What if I want to side with you?" Robb asked, a determined look on his face, "What if I want to fight for you?"
"You can't," Annalys argued while still sitting on her bed, "The Northmen and the Riverlands men have suffered enough, don't you think? They shouldn't have to fight in someone else's war again."
Robb sighed in defeat, knowing she was right. "Look, Annalys, I--" He began to apologize for what he had done, despite not truly meaning it, only to have Annalys cut him off.
"I forgive you," She interrupted him, causing Robb to immediately look taken aback.
"What?" Robb frowned, feeling as though he hadn't heard her correctly.
"I forgive you, Robb," Annalys repeated her statement, smiling softly at the Stark man, "I forgive you and your impulsiveness."
"I am not impulsive," Robb argued and Annalys tried her best to not laugh at the fact that way he looked while pouting reminded him of when Eddard did the same after Lyanna took one of his toys.
Annalys smirked as she weakly stood up, beginning to move toward him, despite being told by the maester to stay in bed, "You are. I dare say you're the most impulsive person I've ever met." She continued to jokingly argue with him.
She moved closer to Robb until she was standing in front of him. She placed her uninjured hand on Robb's clothed chest, just before she leaned forward and kissed him passionately. Their kiss lingered for long while until Robb suddenly pulled away.
He sighed in defeat, pulling away from the kiss. Annalys frowned, clearly not understanding why he had constantly pulled away from kissing her since the day the Baratheon men attacked her.
"Why do you stop lately?" Annalys complained, a concerned look on his face, "You did last night, too. It's isn't our first time together and it's definitely not our first kiss. And it's not as though I'm inexperienced. Neither of us are."
"I'm well aware of that, love. But I..." He trailed off, letting out a sigh in defeat. "The last man you were with was Ramsay and I'm not blind. You have scars across your back because of him. It's clear to me that not all of your experiences were good—"
"Well, there's no changing that now, is there?" Annalys interrupted Robb, not understanding why he was concerned about something that not even she was worried about.
"I beg to differ." Robb argued, a hint of determination in his eyes, which Annalys was quick to notice.
Robb wasted no time taking off his shirt before he grabbed Annalys by the waist, turning her so that her back was pressed up against his bare chest. He leaned his chin against the top of her head and removed her last remaining dress, just before pulling it off of her and tossing it to the floor.
"What are you doing?" She asked with a mischievous smile on her face, noticing how slow he was going for once.
"Assisting you in forgetting ..." He trailed off, moving her hair out of the way before he placed a soft kiss to the crook of her neck, "Everything and everyone..." He trailed off, placing his hands over hers as they rested close to her abdomen, "That came before this moment in time, even our time together all those years ago," He paused, his lips brushing against her ear, causing her to practically shudder under his touch, "Now, tell me what you want. Leave no details out. I won't judge."
"Alright," She decided, wrapping an arm around him. She smirked as she turn to him, beginning to whisper sweet nothings into his ear.
Robb couldn't help the smile that formed on his lips after hearing her request, his eyes widening slightly. He nodded, slowly moving his hands down her body, just before they reached under her skirt. Annalys instinctively shut her eyes, leaning her head against his shoulder as she began to moan, arching her back in pleasure.
_____
Several moments later, after their short-lived rendezvous, while they were still standing, Annalys moved closer to Robb once more with a smirk on her face, pushing him down on the bed right behind them. Robb fell onto the bed, a large smile on his face as Annalys climbed on top of him as quick as she could.
Annalys straddled him, wearing just her shift since Robb had taken off her dress several moments before. She began to untie her shift to take it off, only to have Robb grab her arms, stopping her, "Not yet." He argued, switching their position after grabbing onto her waist.
Annalys let out a small gasp at the sudden change in position, staring up at him as he knelt between her legs while using both of his hands to hold himself up above her. She closed her eyes, moaning as Robb began to kiss down her neck and chest.
Annalys opened them once more, grabbing him by his arms the best she could with one hand before switching the position once more. "You know this may be fun and all, but it is also unnecessary. I have already forgotten about the past since we left Winterfell together."
She leaned forward to kiss him, only to have Robb flip them one last time so that he was on top, much to her annoyance, "Yes, but there's still more for you to forget." Robb informed her, a playful smile on his face.
"More to forget? Ah, yes. Well, then, perhaps I've forgotten that you told me keep this on," She remarked, beginning to take off her shift with her right hand.
Robb ended up lightly grabbing her wrists, pinning them down at her sides. Annalys laughed at his actions and looked up at him, a smile on her face.
"Not what I mean," He told her quietly, causing Annalys to raise a brow at him.
"What do you mean then, Robb?" She asked him mockingly, a playful smirk on her face.
"I want you to forget..." He trailed off, placing a lingering kiss to the crook of her neck, "Every man and woman that has smiled at you..." He trailed off, placing a kiss to the now exposed valley of her breasts and Annalys smirked at the fact that Robb knew the truth about how she liked both men and women, "Every person that has ever flirted with you."
He let go of her wrists, ripping her shift open before placing kisses down her stomach, his left hand now trailing up her left leg in a slow motion, "Everyone but me." He continued on, smiling at way Annalys seemed to crumble under his touch.
"At the pace you're going, it will be within no--" She began to say, only to let out a large moan as Robb reached the place he was eager to get to, "My gods."
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Jaime said that Annalys was one of the smartest people he knew but when it came to Robb, she had the mind of a child.
Maybe that's why she's forgotten what all this sex is gonna lead to
🤔😂
This was a sort of filler and closure to them arriving at Casterly Rock next chapter!
