Chapter 31

Chapter 31
👑👑👑

In all his glory, Kim Namjoon, the King of South Korea, remained rooted to his spot on the threshold of the front altar. His gaze was focused on the doors currently allowing guests in, the doors that would open the way for ChaeSoo once the ceremony began. He currently wore his heart on his sleeve for all to see, it was apparent that the feelings of eagerness and anxiety coursed through the man's veins. Despite the fact of having a wedding in the human realm just hours prior, the jitters stuck around like the sweat building on his forehead. The feeling continued to rage on within the enclosure of the King's skull, leaving a persistent nervousness behind.

The official wedding and coronation were just minutes away from commencing, dealing an overwhelming mood of anticipation to those who were present. The countdown towards the start seemed to drag on forever and Namjoon continued to grow impatient the longer he waited. Everyone was standing by for ChaeSoo to walk down the aisle with Hoseok by her side, meeting the King's extended hand after being handed off to him by her cousin. From there, he would guide her up to the altar and royal officiant, exchanging their vows before ChaeSoo was crowned Queen once again.

The Clan's massive dwelling within the Demonic realm was filled with the kingdom's loyal subjects, whether they were from earth or the realm itself. Everyone was excited to witness the return of their beloved Queen and watch her reclaim the throne once again. It had been several centuries since they witnessed the mere spectacle of a royal wedding and coronation, it was practically the talk of the kingdom ever since the King himself made the announcement. Newspaper publishers and media outlets were thrown into a frenzy, the need for providing full coverage being the fuel to their drive.

Almost all of the citizens of the kingdom were desperate to obtain the latest scoop on the royal couple by any means possible. Thing likes what dress the Queen would be wearing, who would be walking ChaeSoo down the aisle for her late father, and what were the couple's second honeymoon plans. Nevertheless, no one was allowed passage to information about the ceremony until the day itself came. Those who were involved in the wedding planning were expected to keep all the details under wraps, as everything would be revealed on the day of.

Now that the doors were finally opened, South Korea's famous and growing media outlets flooded the mansion- or royal castle rather due to the grand scale of the building. Cameramen set up their cameras for live streams, and the reporters stood on standby, waiting for the procession to begin. Every single inch of the reception would be covered, anything and everything that could happen will be broadcasted far and wide across the region.

"Namjoon-ah, you look like a nervous mess," SeokJin chuckled, snapping Namjoon out of his thoughts.

The King flickered his gaze towards the eldest, eyeing the cheeky smile on the man's face. SeokJin reached for the crooked royal crest strapped to the Namjoon's, adjusting it so that it sat straight on his regal attire. He then fixed the younger's collar before brushing his shoulders off.

"Jin, it's ChaeSoo."
"Trust me, we know."

Meanwhile, Jimin furrowed his eyebrows in concentration, gently but firmly and weaving ChaeSoo's locks into a perfect, braided crown. Several inches of the Queen's hair still remained unbraided, but the clansman worked to shape it into place. ChaeSoo watched his craftsmanship through the mirror, discreetly shooting him a small smile. She admired the pride he had for his work, observing the way he smiled as he finished the ends and tucked it into place with several bobby pins. She watched as he grabbed a can of his favorite hairspray, dispensing a gentle mist on her baby hair and the bundles of hair he intentionally left out and curled. As a finishing touch, he grabbed a jeweled hairpiece and tucked into the braid, just above her left ear. Jimin then stood back, folding his hands together in delight.

"Thank you Jiminie, I love it," she beamed, turning around and giving him a tight hug.
"Aw, you're welcome, my Lady," he chimed with a smile. "Now, let's get you into your dress. We have fifteen minutes."

ChaeSoo watched as Jimin hunched over behind her, working to tighten the bodice to her body shape. The woman's eyes focused on the dress, admiring the lavish and expensive gown embracing her. She huffed from surprise as the jeweled corset suddenly hugged her waist and torso, inches away from forcing the air out of her lungs. She caught Jimin trying to hide the small but mischievous smile present on his face through the mirror as he fixed the almost three-meter long train hanging from her head. ChaeSoo playfully rolled her eyes at him as he finished his task.

"All done my Lady~ now let's get you to your wedding!"

Fiddling with the bouquet of modest flowers in her hands, ChaeSoo now stood in front of the throne room's shut doors, waiting for Yoongi's cue on the grand organ inside. Once he started playing, the doors would open, granting passage for her and Hoseok to walk down the aisle. Despite being seconds away from proceeding on with her second wedding of the day and having her cousin beside her, she felt all the more nervous now that the eyes of the kingdom were on her. The atmosphere contrasted that of the human realm, it was almost as if there was some sort of static causing her to feel this way.

ChaeSoo was suddenly snapped out of her trance, feeling Hoseok's large hand on top of hers.

"Don't be nervous, Buttercup," he reassured, breaking out into a light chuckle. "You've done this twice already."
"Oh you tease," she giggled. "You're right, there's nothing to worry about. I mean, it's not like I could trip on my heels and fall in front of everyone."
"ChaeSoo, honey," Hoseok cooed. "Relax and own your wedding and coronation. You're a queen, both literally metaphorically."

The Queen sighed and relented, expressing her gratitude for his consoling behavior and uplifting attitude. He only smiled back, reminding her that Juno would be proud of her.

The distinguished sound of Yoongi's organ began to reverberate through the palace and the doors before them slowly opened.
