Dipper Gleeful

Even my mouth was open agape, Mabel never told me she'd open the box for all the people to see. And everyone was, the whole audience was silent, no one daring to say a word, everyone just staring in wide-eyed terror.

Pacifica looked half-dead, or if she wasn't, then she was completely dead.

This wasn't even sadistic, it was just sad.

Whatever Mabel originally planned, I no longer wanted to partake in.

Mabel opened her mouth, about to say something before I cut her off and slammed the door of the box shut.

'You didn't tell me you were opening it.' I snarled into Mabel's ear, putting the lock back on.
'What's a little gore to some random kids?' Mabel replied to me, lowly, but she was smiling. I frowned, but tried to conceal my worry, and turned to face the audience surrounding us still.
I grinned, and for the first time, it felt fake.

Faker than the ones I put on for drooling girls and annoying fangirls. This time, it hurt, for me to smile while someone was suffering.

Mabel stepped back hesitantly, and turned to the audience, she then announced something before beckoning me to start using our amulets at the same time. She raised her hand gracefully, and I channelled the amulet towards the box, I felt the familiar blue glow come back to me.
The crowd gaped in awe and wonder, even though many were just rewatching.

It took shorter than I thought, as soon as Mabel brought her hand down I knew I had to stop, as much as I wanted to lead the show, Mabel was older than me, so I gave the position to her, I have better things I'm good at anyway.

I looked towards my twin sister, she gave a sure nod and I went over to unlock the box.

Picking the lock, I felt the tension in the room build-up, everyone was watching me, they all wanted to know if they were to be disappointed or unsatisfied.

I opened the door, shutting my eyes and bracing for the sight of the dead blonde I laid eyes upon earlier. Then I felt a hand grip onto my arm.

The crowd whooped and cheered.

Pacifica Pines

The crowd whooped and cheered. The door opened and I felt a rush of heat in my face. The light was blinding, I heard cheering and clapping, coming from all directions, I was beyond confused and scared.

Was I in heaven?

All for a stupid trick?

I grabbed onto whatever was closest to me, warmth, that's what it felt like, shooting through my cold palm.

'Dipper?' I asked, puzzled at the fact Dipper was here too. I must be dreaming, or hallucinating, can you even do that in heaven?

'Oh my god!'

'She's alive?'

'Did they just bring her back?'

All I heard was whispers and murmurs now, no more clapping.

'Pacifica. You're soaked, in your own blood.' Dipper yanked his arm out of my grasp, and looked at me, as if in disgust.

Then I looked down at myself, I was covered in blood, it was gross, and I gagged at the sight of it.
Dipper shoved a finger in front of himself, to tell Mabel to wait, 'And one last trick, before the intermission!' He shouted into the crowd.

I expected nothing more than to just go back to the Shack. However, Dipper didn't tell me to leave, he just closed his eyes and a blue glow appeared, like an aura around him. He directed it at me with his arm and suddenly I felt the moisture than seeped into my clothes leave, evaporating, into nothing.

The crowd exploded into applause, so I guess I'm not dead?

I was mad, mad at the twins for making me go through the performance.

The audience started to file through the tent as the intermission started and the stage lights turned off and the normal lights turned on.

I followed through until I felt a grip on my shoulder this time, 'Pacifica, wait.' Dipper said, like a robot, monotone and emotionless.

'What?' I asked, 'You want me to die again for your show? No thanks.' I eyed him up and down, not believing that I was actually excited for the show before this.

'No, I wanted to apologise.' He told me, he looked down, like he was really sorry for it. One part of me was dying to shout at him, another wanted me to simply forgive him.

'Okay, apology accepted. Now let me go.' I shrugged his hand off.

'No, I can't, let me make it up to you. Really. Meet me near the lake tomorrow night, I'll text you when.'

'Sure- wait how can you text me? You don't even have my number?'

'A magician has his ways.'

Then he leaned back and disappeared, and Gideon came running to me.

I was still kind of weirded out by the situation.

It was like he was an inspector at the airport, patting me down for drugs or something.

'You okay there?' I looked at him oddly, he was sniffing around me, like I became a vampire or something.

I did come back from the dead.

'Paz are you okay? Oh my- look.' Gids pointed at a spot on the floor on the stage. There was a pool of blood, and the box still remaining where it was during the act.

'I'm just feeling lightheaded and dizzy. I'm fine, seriously.' I told my worried cousin.

He didn't reply but continued to look around my clothes.

Then, he lifted his head up and said to me, 'Paz, what did he say?'

He still sounded so serious, I got the message that I shouldn't try to make a joke or anything.
'Dipper said sorry. That's all. And also, it doesn't matter.

'Okay, so I guess you guys are on first-name basis. We should go. Now.'

'No, Gids it's fine. Let's just finish the show!' I put my phone in front of him, showing him the time.

Gideon crosses his arms but nodded, getting back to our seat as the crowd came back in.
I heard distinct mutters come from girls walking around me.

'Oh, so she's the girl.'

'What's so special about her anyway.'

'Her clothes are ugly.'

'Who is she?'

I just got back to my seat and ignored them.

The second part of the show was just about mind-reading and the twins showing their telekinesis powers.

I clapped when I should have but Gideon seemed super down the whole time.

(A/N: I mean, you GOT KILLED! I'd be a bit worried too...)

After the show, I glanced towards Dipped before leaving the tent and he just looked back at me, as if he told me nothing.

Suddenly, I saw a wink, like we had a small secret between us, and that led me to smile, even a chuckle or a sort but I knew what he meant, and that was that I had to say nothing, to anyone, not even my parents, or Gids.

When we got back to the shack, Gideon just bent down and slumped onto the couch.
'What's wrong Gids?'

'What's wrong- WHAT'S WRONG IS THAT YOU ALMOST GOT KILLED! JESUS PACIFICA! WHY WOULD YOU NOT SAY ANYTHING?'

'Gids! Calm down! I'm fine now! Look at me!'

I displayed my clean clothes and how I was 'alive' now.

'WHAT IF YOU WEREN'T? WHAT IF THEY DIDN'T BRING YOU BACK? WHAT WOULD I SAY TO MY DAD?'

'Gideon! Calm, the fuck, down. I'm fine and so are you.' I tried to reason with Gideon.

He gave a huff and went up to his room, I was just left alone in the living room.

As he went up the stairs, I heard him say:

'Dipper Gleeful, never in a million years would I think you'd apologise to one of us.'
