Born again, I feel it

I can't believe this peace, this joy,
washing over me

It makes me feel as if I'm soaring on wings like eagles,
carried in the arms of a merciful God

He whispered I love you in my ear
and I thought my heart would burst

My soul's alive because He cast my sins far away

I'm no longer burdened with an unbearable, crushing weight that tries to sink me into the depths of a grave I used to belong

He rescued me, redeemed my soul

He took it all, for me, bearing it on his shoulders to carry it so far from me no one could dare bring it back

His love warms my very being, giving me life and a hope for what's to come

For, I'm alienated here on this planet called earth,
and I've just realized,
my home is galaxies away, above the stars and in the heavens
