Two

Jeremy

I escaped. I escaped an evil being. When I say 'evil being' I mean the person who hates me the most. My father. Maximus.

He's powerful and the only person who can defeat him is someone with the most powerful light magic, it's the only thing that can stop him.

He hates me because, well... I wasn't the son he needed to be, wanted me to be. He needed me to be born with magic, like he was but I wasn't and I wasn't about to learn the darkest of magic. I wasn't like him, I didn't want power.

I wanted love. I wanted to feel what love felt like, because I had no idea. I grew up not even knowing what it was like to have a friendship like no one else had.

I didn't have a good childhood I had the worse childhood a boy could have. Or that's what I always believed.

So when I say I escaped my father, I literally mean I escaped. Let's just say he made it almost impossible for me to escape. But I managed to do it, somehow.

After about eight years of trying to escape I finally managed to do it.

As soon as I escaped I went looking for someone to stop him. The only person who could.

The only thing was I had no idea who that person was, and the only person who knew, was that person, or at least I assumed that.

But boy was I wrong.

I sighed as I walked out of my home and towards the woods, where I made camp. Did I also mention I was basically a prince, well sort of, considering my father is a powerful man, he defeated an army and managed to become king, though he had no legitimate bloodline.

I also never knew my mother, which is a shame because I always wanted to meet her, according to my father I was exactly like her which is exactly why he hated me so much. At least I think that was why he always hated me.

If it wasn't then I had no idea why he hated me, apart from the fact I may have done something in the first place, which was being born. I think my father would rather see me dead than my mother.

I was apparently on the brink of dying and managed to survive while my mother died in childbirth and ever since then my father hated me.

As I arrived in the woods I put down my backpack and set up a tent before making a fire to heat up as the sun started to set slowly but surely.

As the sun finally set, and I sat down on a log and sat by the fire I realised how alone I was. No friends, no family, not anymore. I didn't even have a sibling.

Some people could basically compared me to certain fictional characters, characters like "Flynn Ryder" and "Killian Jones" I was no thief at least not yet and I didn't want to be and I certainly wasn't a sailor or a pirate. Maybe as handsome as them but certainly didn't have their personalities. Some people may think I did, but I didn't.

I had my father's temper sometimes, and it was one of the reasons why I had to get away other than my father finally throwing me away because I was eighteen, or at least almost eighteen.

I was practically an adult, and yet not one.

I was brought up like a prince would be, or at least what I thought what princes were brought up like.

Father being abusive and disciplined to make me learn. It worked for a long time, until it didn't.

As I walked into my tent I sighed as I lay down on the floor and closed my eyes.

I was supposed to find someone who was able to defeat my father, but how would I know who this person was I thought to myself.

You're probably wondering how I came to know this about my father, about needing someone to defeat him.

Well, let me start from the beginning, it all started six years ago, when I was twelve and I had the strangest dream...

I cannot remember much about it but I do remember this:

I was sitting in my bedroom, bored, and I decided to sneak out to go riding on my horse.

While riding I rode past an old cottage and it happened to have an old woman living there. I jumped off my horse and went to look round the house to see if I was right about the tales of this cottage.

I had heard that the old woman who lived there was in fact a witch, and none other than a psychic.

The stories were true.

When I entered the cottage there was a woman, but she wasn't old, no not at all, in fact she was young and beautiful, she looked older than me, around fifteen.

This was just a mask though.

When she asked me what I was doing there I just said,

"I wanted to see if the legend was true."

The woman — girl — smiled at me and replied,

"Well of course it's true, but I see things that you cannot and one day you'll be in great danger!"

I frowned, confused.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"There will come a day, where you will need someone with the most powerful of magic to kill someone with the same amount of magic. But the magic will not be dark, it will be light the only thing that can defeat the dark."

She smiled at me before giggling like a man woman and slowly revealing another face, another person. An old woman.

"How will I be able to find this person?" I asked the woman.

Her voice was croaky, "you will know when you find them, my dear. Six years for now, something will happen and you will go on a journey to find the one person who can defeat the man with the darkest of magic." She said to me.

And she waved her hand and I was poofed away from her and before I knew it, I was awake.

And I knew from that moment on I knew that I had to find the person who could defeat my father. All that I need to know now is who that person is so they can defeat my father once and for all.

As I closed my eyes I thought of that dream and the sun had set and it was now night and around nine o'clock at night.

I sighed as I slowly started falling asleep and dreaming of how I would find this person.

Or rather I dreamt of the person who .lwould be able to defeat my father I just didn't know it at that time...

I was back in my room, weirdly. Then I remembered it was a dream, I looked out of my window and escaped from my room and went over to a tree that i used to go to when I was younger, when I saw a girl. A beautiful girl.

She was sitting with another girl, almost identical, and yet not. She too was beautiful.

I frowned as I walked towards them, one of them was reading something and showing the other what was happening in the book, and the only girl giggled.

"They're so cute together!" One of them squealed.

"Right, they totally deserve each other they're just really blind!" Said the other, the one who caught my eye first.

They turned to see me coming over, they screamed,

"Who are you!?" They said in unison.

"I'm... Jeremy, just Jeremy." I replied, clearing my throat.

"Well... Just Jeremy why were you watching us and coming over to us?" One of them asked, raising an eyebrow. I shrugged.

"Curious." Was all said.

Then the who asked what I was doing spoke again. "I'm Millie and this is..." She trailed off as she saw something behind me.

She screamed, I turned around to see a monster, a dragon fly towards us.

I took out my sword and then stabbed the dragon.

"There'll be more, come on, we have to move." I said.

"What do you mean?" Millie asked.

"Let's just say my father is a powerful man."

And so we ran and ran until we got out of reach of where my father could find us, find me.

Then I woke up.
