A/N: This takes place right after the chapter of "Letters From The Past" where Kimiko finds out who her real father is

**Kimiko's POV**

After I left the meeting, I found a nearby stairwell that led up to the roof of the Hokage tower and climbed up to finally breathe in fresh air. I felt all of my anger fade slightly as I took in my surroundings.

'After all this time, I learn the truth about my father through a stupid letter? I thought the great Obito Uchiha would have more tact than to drop something like this on his only child in writing rather than telling her himself!' I thought, hands gripping the railing in-front of me.

I didn't think anyone had followed me until I felt fur brush against my leg. Looking down, I see my nindog Eriko staring up at me as if he was worried about how I was feeling. Just as I was wondering who let him up here, I heard familiar footsteps at the top of the stairs that caused me to turn around and see my husband, Shino, looking back at me.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at work?" I asked him, confused as to why he wasn't at the school.

"Rose called me and said something happened with you. You and our family will always come first, Kimi, you know that" he replied, closing the distance between us and pulling me into a hug.

I stayed in his arms for a while, letting his heartbeat act like a soothing lullaby to calm me down.

"I found out my father was Obito Uchiha...though I knew him as the Akatsuki member "Tobi" before learning who he really was" I said, eyes closed temporarily.

"That must have been a shock for you. No wonder Rose decided to call me, she knew I'd be able to help" Shino commented, rubbing my back in soothing circles.
