Chapter 30
Lapis and I couldn't believe our eyes - two corrupted gang members were the murderers! The camera displayed the two figures brutally mauling the poor victims and I couldn't help but put my hand over my mouth to keep from spewing chunks. Lapis pulls her phone out and texts two Jaspers to go search for te corrupted members.
"But don't you think they might die too? Those members looked really strong..." I said, twiddling my fingers. "They're the two strongest Jaspers out there - specially trained by yours truly." Lapis explained, pridefully putting her hand on her chest jokingly. I sighed, and couldn't help but smile. "Okay well, why don't we--" Lapis's phone started buzzing, and we both looked at who was calling - It was Aquamarine.
Lapis sighed in distress, and she closed eyes, slowly putting the phone up to her ear. "H-hello?" Lapis's voice was slightly trembling. I folded my hand together, waiting patiently to hear what Aquamarine had to say. The bluenette's face then suddenly paled, and her eyes were wide. "WHAT?! NO! I WON'T ALLOW IT!" Lapis shouted angrily, and I took a step back. I strained my ears to hear what the girl on the other line was saying.
All I heard was words like 'punish' and 'torture' and 'accept' and it made me extremely uneasy. "If you really were apart of Blue Diamond's court and cared about the likes of your Authority then you wouldn't allow this! Yellow Diamond isn't gonna get in the way of my commands!" Lapis explained, raising her voice. Silence. "Well don't expect to come back to my authority or you'll be sorry! And FUCK YOU TOO YOU BITCHY-ASS NARCISSIST! YOU'RE FIRED!" Lapis shouted into the phone before hanging up on Aquamarine.
She was heavily breathing as she stuffed the phone back into her pocket. Her expression was cold and she looked extremely agitated. Her heavy breathing halted, and her expression softened as she looked down at me. "I-I kinda lost it there, didn't I?" Lapis muttered, looking to the side, clearly ashamed. I put a hand on her shoulder and gave her a reassuring smile.
"Hey, it's okay to get angry, Lapis. What'd she say?" I asked. "Aquamarine said that the trial 'went well' as she put it, and Steven volunteered to take mom's punishment! So Yellow Diamond said that her Jaspers could torture Steven until they're bored with him! I dunno what to do, h-he doesn't deserve this!" Lapis said, on the verge of tears.
"Lapis...we're gonna do something about this!" I said determinedly. "H-how? W-we can't just barge into Yellow Diamond's court just like that! She could kill me for that!" Lapis said, panic-stricken. "H-hey...s-stop! Let go!" We heard a child's voice out in the hallway. Lapis and I ran to the door and cracked it open, peeking through. "Steven!" Lapis whisper-shouted. We saw Steven being dragged down the hall by two bulky Jaspers - Yellow's Jaspers.
They were on their way to the chambers and we both started to panic. "What do we do?!" Lapis asked in a nervous tone of voice. I couldn't think of anything, and tears began to fill my eyes. "Just, um - c-c'mon!" I shouted, pulling on Lapis's arm, taking her down the hall. We silently followed the Jaspers, and watched as they kept spitting threats in Steven's face, and they threw him into one of the chambers - they walked in with him.
I ran as fast as I could to try and keep the door open, but the door closed right before I got to it. I slammed into the door, the impact of my shoulder crushing into it echoing the halls. I tried the handle and yanked and twisted it frantically, the Jaspers' laughs getting louder. I kept yanking and bashing and twisting, but it didn't do anything.
After about 10 minutes of trying to pry that door open, I finally gave up, and laid my back against door, sliding down slowly. I tried catching my breath, and as soon as silence consumed the halls, the only sound that was heard was Lapis's quiet sobs. "L-Lapis...?" I muttered, looking in Lapis's direction. She was looking in through a small crack in the wall, and she was shaking. I ran over to her, and tried looking into the crack as well.
Steven was being hit and kicked around by the Jaspers, his desperate cries only encouraging them to bash him more. "NO!" Lapis finally shouted, banging on the wall with her balled fist. Her sobs were louder, and her back slid down the wall. When she landed on her bottom, she curled up into a ball, wrapping her arms around her knees protectively.
I sat next to her, and I put an arm around her shoulders. We just sat there in silence, listening to the painful sound of Steven's crying and the Jaspers' laughing. "I'm so sorry..." I whispered, and I placed a kiss on the bluenette's head, and she snuggled closer to me. "He'll get through this..."
....
When Lapis finally fell asleep in her bed, I slowly and carefully got up off of the bed, making sure not to wake her up - I was running a little errand. I slipped my leather jacket on, felt my pockets to make sure I had my knife, gun, rope, and phone, and I quietly opened the door, sneaking out. I speed-walked down the halls, and walked up to the heavy door that read 'YDA' in big yellow letters. Yellow Diamond Authority...
I opened it, looked around, and slipped into the room. It was a hallway that looked similar to our hallways, only they had yellow diamond insignias printed everywhere instead of blue. I looked around in search of any Yellow Diamond Authority members nearby. That's when a Yellow Pearl walked out of a random room holding a pocketknife.
I crouched behind a plant, and watched as she sashayed down the hall. I learned a little trick from Lapis about silent take downs, and I hope it works like she says it does. I snuck up on the Pearl, and elbowed the woman in her spine, causing her to arch her back suddenly and drop her knife. I then used this opportunity to quickly wrap my arms around her face and yanked her down with my weight.
I covered her mouth and nose with my arm and kept her down on the floor. She was making quiet grunt and struggling noises, trying to escape, but I used all my strength to keep her down. I looked around to make sure no one saw that, and fortunately they didn't. Eventually, the Yellow Pearl was unconscious and limp in my arms.
I picked her up - with some struggling, I admit - and threw her skinny body over my shoulder like a Santa bag. I quickly carried her all the way back to the Blue Diamond Authority, and took her to my room. I grabbed a garbage bag from my closet and stuffed her in it. (Okay don't worry! She's not dead! She's just unconscious...) I also grabbed a baseball bat for intimidation purposes. So I knew that I couldn't do this in my room because anyone could just randomly barge in at any moment - I had to do this in a secluded spot, so I chose a dark alleyway where there weren't any security cameras or anything like that.
It took a lot of struggling to drag the bag all the way out the front door and down the street into the alleyways, but I managed to do it in under an hour. I pulled the lady out of the bag, and sat her against a corner. There was an abandoned store right across the street, so I tip-toed over to it, grabbed a rock, and tossed it, breaking its window. I climbed through the broken window, making sure not to cut myself.
I grabbed a chair from the front desk and brought it back to the alleyway. I sat the chair in the center of the alleyway and dragged the Pearl over to it. I sat her on it, and used the rope in my jacket to tie her into it so she couldn't escape. Now all I had to do was wait until she woke up, in the meantime...I need to think of some intimidating questions...
Damn this took a long time to write, but I did it :D So how'd you guys like this chapter? I'm just warning you guys now that the next chapter is going to be a little sickening even for me - yOu HaVe BeEn WaRnEd...
