Chapter 7

Chapter 7 - Survival

Both Izuku and Ochako were in the elevator going up to the next floor while Round 2 was still pending. Ochako breathed in and out slowly, her head feeling fuzzy and her body wanted to subconsciously collapsed. The cut in her arm was too painful that the pain was getting worse and worse.

It hurts like hell. She didn't want to feel this pain anymore. It was making her want to throw up or something. She doesn't know. She doesn't want any more of this.

She kept telling herself that but the moment she looked at Izuku. Everytime she sees him, all her worries were all blown away and just wanted to stay with him forever.

It was crazy. Never would she thought that she would be in this mess. This so far is way too much for such a fragile girl to experience. But she just didn't care.

It was all about Izuku, she thought.

"Are you gonna be okay out there?" He asked her, eyeing at her cut arm again which was now wrapped with a thick bandage.

Her eyes followed to his and saw him staring at it. She then scooted a little to prevent him from looking at it intently, showing him that he has nothing to worry about.

"I-I'm okay. It was accident." She responded.

He nodded and looked away. But never had Izuku felt so worried about someone. There's just something about Ochako the he wants to protect. But he didn't know that would come across his mind.

The elevator rang as the door opened. The people gathered in the new waiting room, preparing for the next round.

"Sit here." Izuku told, sitting on a chair, patting the seat next to him.

Ochako did as told and sat next to him. The moment she did, the little girl with white hair sat next to them with her partner.

When Ochako saw her, she immediately flinched and pushed herself a bit back from her. The little girl seemed to notice it and look at Ochako.

Ochako sweated and was nervous. She was also terrified by her and she unconsciously brought her hand to her arm with the bandage.

"Sorry, miss, about your arm." She said, sweetly with a charming smile. "You're really pretty."

Ochako was taken aback with her response and action. She wouldn't have thought that she would behave like this. "O-Oh. I-It's okay. T-Thanks, I guess."

That smile gave her chills to the spine. She's still afraid of her. The face she made in the last game was a complete different person that gave off a malicious aura.

This was horrifying.

"I'm Eri. You are?" She asked.

"E-Eri?" She spoke her name. "Oh, I'm Urara- Uravity!"

She smiled again. "Nice to meet you."

Despite being just a little girl, Ochako was still beyond traumatized.

There's something evil about this girl.

"Uravity-san, in the next round, I won't go easy on you," She said with a lower tone. "I wanna see if you can actually survive."

Ochako gulped at her menace. Her words were like a knife stabbing her throat, unable to speak to her next.

"B-But you don't take drugs, right?"

Eri gazed at her. "That injecting thing? That's nothing. It will just make you feel sleepy, so what?"

"You're never gonna win, you're so fragile and weak. But I know that I'm the best in this game." She continued.

What an arrogant brat. Ochako can't stand these people.

"Huh. I see." She responded with an uninterested face.

Eri didn't seem to notice Ochako's lack of interest in their conversation. And the whole time was just Eri blabbing stuffs that Ochako didn't bother to hear anymore.

This girl is just another normal kid.

But with a maniac attitude inside of her.

This is nothing, compared to Izuku. He's far more worse than that.

"Hey, what happens if we win this?" Ochako asked Izuku, leaving off Eri.

Izuku hummed and opened his eyes, awoken from his short nap. "What happens if we win this?" He repeated.

"We get money, that's all." He answered.

She said. "M-Money?"

"Yeah, I'm kinda getting low in budget right now. Haven't played this game for 2 years, so I need some extra cash right now." He responded, placing his arms behind his head, resting it there.

"Is it because something happened 2 years ago that made you stopped playing?"

The words made Izuku taken aback. His eyes widened and he gazed at Ochako with a shocked expression. The topic she brought up made Izuku remembered it.

He remembered what happened 2 years ago.

"Don't kill her! Don't kill her!"

Izuku gasped and his body unconsciously flinched forward as if someone choked him. The voice he recalled of him was ringing in his head, haunting him and giving off shivers in his spines.

Ochako noticed it and she was knew she said something wrong and personal and decided to let it be for now.

"D-Deku." She called him with concern.

Izuku almost felt a tear coming out of his eye but swiftly held it in and looked straight into Ochako's. Giving her a warm smile, he said.

"Don't worry. My mind just set off somewhere." He chuckled.

Ochako gave off a worried expression. His laugh was forced and he was not okay. Something did happen and she knew that it was tragic. She will talk to him some other time.

Or never.

Just let his story and himself be cast away from her.

Why does she bother asking him these and telling him to tell her what's wrong. There's no special relationship between those two. He doesn't feel the same way so why does she talk to him as if he was the most important person in the world.

There is nothing happening between them, after all.

"You okay there, dolly?" He asked, noticing her expression.

She snapped her senses back. "H-Huh? Why?"

"Nothing. The game is almost starting." He told. "By the way, stay awake until the end of the game, alright?"

"Shouldn't you be worried too?"

He chuckled. "Those things won't get me. But it will get you."

She pouted and started playing with her fingers nervously. Injection feeling. How does that feel? Does it hurt? Will it leave a painful mark?

She doesn't know.

The only time she ever get an injection was when she was still a little girl. Where the parents would bring their daughter to the hospital and she would be terrified as hell, as the injection awaited for her.

She remembered the feeling as a child. The parents would hold her hand tightly as the doctors injected her arm slowly where the pain was minimum.

But here, she thinks it would be a forced jab.

"Round 2 will begin now. Please proceed to your door."

Ochako stood up with Izuku as they walked towards the arena. Izuku held Ochako's hand tightly on the way there.

As they reached the place, Izuku told one last time again.

"Survive, okay? I don't want you to get another fatal injury."

He then let go of her hand and made his way to his respective door.

Ochako stared at his back as he was walking away. She looked down and stared at the hand Izuku held a moment ago.

"What kind of relationship are we having right now?" She whispered to herself.

He kept on being concern about her body and not getting herself get hurt. He kept telling her to survive that he didn't want her to die. He's so worried when he saw Ochako just with a cut on her arm.

What relationship do they have?

Ochako made it to her door and nothing was placed in the small room but just the rules plastered on the wall.

"Do not kill anyone."

That was the only rule in this whole game.

Except for the last round.

"Ten seconds before the second round begins."

It's starting.

Her heart was beating fast as lightning. It all depends on her now to make them go through. If she fails, all what Izuku progressed and wanted in the past 2 years will be for nothing.

It's for Izuku.

"Start!"

Ochako ran into the arena, without any slight hesitation. Her eyes analyzed the place. It was a complete maze. Huge walls on the sides with random filled up injections placed on the ground.

They're all yellow in colour. This is dangerous.

She carefully took two and held it in each hand for her not to prick herself. She's beginning to hear some screaming and grunting here and there.

Ochako then saw an small open area with a bunch of people injecting one another. She decided to ran across the room to the other side of the maze.

She just needed to find Izuku. That's all. And everything will be okay.

The small area was just filled with people injecting one another. It looked painful and Ochako tried her best not to get involved with those maniacs.

"Izuku... Where are you?" She said under her breath, looking around carefully, keeping her guard on in case anyone ambushed her.

She then came across a person popping out on the other side of her. The guy looked at her and ran towards her.

Ochako flinched and screamed a bit as she ran away and went through an opening on the left and randomly started going through random places, until she reached a dead end.

"Oh no." She panted, staring at the closed wall, appearing a shadow behind her.

It was the same man.

She watched him walking towards her with an injection on his hand.

His vile smirk was just plastered all over his face.

Remember, he is a criminal like the rest of these. Even a murderer.

Ochako prepared to inject him, just in case he comes closer. But the problem is that, he won't pass out in an instant. It can only work if she had the special injection that can knock him out immediately.

He will still be conscious after she attacks, and then maybe, she will be next to be attacked. She didn't know what to do but her legs just started shaking in fear.

Her inexperience with this kind of thing, she just wasn't prepared for anything like this.

"You are one fine lady, y'know." He slurred taking his steps even closer to her.

The man started slowing down in a second until his eyes were rolled back as he fell down in his face and fainted on the ground.

Ochako stared at him, puzzled with his actions. She went in closer to check and just as she thought, he was injected everywhere. She could see in his arms, lots of cuts and places where he had been injected.

She waited for him to see if he really passed out. For a couple of minutes and reassurance, it was confirmed that he's out.

This was quick, she thought.

She then saw him holding a waist bag full of injections inside, some were thrown out due to his fall. She slowly took it off of him and carried it to herself.

It was risky and scary to carry such thing. Her eyes then followed to a shadow across the pathway. She quickly zipped the bag closed and ran out as fast as she could.

Surprised, she saw the same girl, Eri, with her bloody eyes shone infront her face as she jabbed the injection in Ochako's arm.

"Ah!" The overwhelming pain has got her to fall down, watching Eri ran away, completing her task. "Come back here!" She screamed.

She clicked her tongue and saw the injection needle deep inside of her arm, already out of juice. "No, no, no. Damn it."

Her hand took out the injection by force, giving Ochako a small scream. She doesn't know how long can she last. It hurts but the effect isn't starting yet.

She had to hurry, otherwise, just stay awake and survive.

She needs to look for Izuku quick. "Shit, it hurts."

But she was thankful that she didn't inject the arm where she had the cut. Or else, that would be worst and she would literally be dying on the ground already.

The brunette stood up and started walking. She went to the right of the maze and saw several bodies on the floor. She gasped as her legs began to tremble, unable to control her balance anymore.

She closed her mouth with her hands, as she slowly avoided stepping on the bodies that were sleeping soundly. After she passed by everything, more bodies just kept coming.

It was horrifying to see.

"Izuku, where are you?" She whispered, with her head already feeling light.

This can't be. She can't fall asleep now.

Her eyes were hooded as she balanced herself by holding onto the walls, as she started walking slowly to just move. With her hand opening the waist bag again, she took out a random injection without seeing it or aware of what she took.

It was rather quieter than before and Ochako felt sleepy already. Her head just makes her eyes want to close as it shuts down her system. Her body parts are included with the effect.

She gritted her teeth furiously. "Damn it all." She said.

Her hand rolled into a fist and she aggressively punched her treated wound. It hurts like hell that her scream was uncontrollable.

"Gah!!" She screamed as loud as she can. "Wake up!!" She screamed even more with herself punching her arm.

Her eyes began to form tears as she was experiencing the overwhelming pain, just stinging in her arm. She wailed as her eyes were forcefully opened.

Blood started staining out of her bandage, but thankfully, she kept herself from sleeping due to her feeling the cut throbbing more in her arm.

She breathed heavily. She was tired, scared and in pain. "I need to find Izuku." She said in a slow, low tone.

Long minutes passed and what Ochako has been through was just walking passed by the bodies on the floor over and over again. She felt like she was walking in circles.

It was hopeless that she had no choice but to just fall asleep now. Her body can't take it anymore.

"There you are again, Uravity-san." A voice sang across the room as Ochako looked up, seeing that girl, Eri, again. "Why didn't you fall asleep? I thought I already put it in you?"

She began giggling and hopping happily towards her. "I guess I have to use more then." Her vile smile appeared in her lips, grabbing two more of the injections in her hands.

"It looks like your body can't take it anymore." She then ran towards the brunette. Ochako couldn't think straight anymore.

Eri pinned her down but Ochako swiftly grabbed onto Eri's wrists to prevent her from injecting her.

The little girl gritted her furiously. "Let go!!" She screamed at her face.

One of Ochako's hands slipped due to the effect of the drugs which causes Eri to inject one more of the drug inside of Ochako's arm. "Die!! Die!! Die!!" Eri screamed with a vicious smile.

Ochako choked and her mouth just wanted to scream but those screams were soundless. It hurts and her brain wanted to shut down by now. "No..." Ochako whispered.

"Goodnight, Uravity-san~" Eri sang, watching Ochako suffer in agony on the ground.

"Sleep well."
