Chapter 15
Chapter 15 - Doubt
"Midoriya Izuku isn't his real name."
Ochako stared at Kirishima with a disbelief expression. This was something she did not expect to know. Why did he say that?
She just thought this was a joke. She doesn't know. She thought that she shouldn't believe him at first without proof.
"W-What do you mean that's not his real name?" She asked, unable to believe Kirishima's words. "He said his name was Midoriya... I-Izuku..."
The red-headed guy sighed at her, and looked at her intently. "Ochako, does he ever tell you his past?"
When the guy said that, it hit her. He never really told her that much about his life before. She never questioned why is he causing all these murders in the first place. Everything about him, she never asked why. He was a mysterious person, hiding a lot of things from her. Maybe he still doesn't trust her or she never asked him or even had a proper conversation with him about the guy himself. She felt hurt and embarrassed about not knowing anything about him despite all the things they've done together.
Ochako gulped, and looked down timidly, admitting it. "No, not that much."
Kirishima closed his eyes as he furrowed his brows. His hand scratched the back of his head and he let off a deep exhale. He then looked back at the brunette and saw her depressed expression plastered on her face. He spoke.
"Do you want me to tell you about him?"
She raised her head up to face back at him. She was too curious to more about him. She thought she was still not comfortable with Izuku when it comes to knowing more about him. She thought that she wasn't allowed to know. She thought that she still couldn't open up to him yet.
But Midoriya Izuku wasn't his real name? How is that possible? She just couldn't believe it.
She responded back to Kirishima with a nod. "Please do tell."
-
Izuku went out of the building after he finished resigning. He sighed outside of the place as he took out his phone to check if there's any info from Kirishima. His head popped out a vein with his teeth gritting angrily.
"I told that guy to message me every 15 minutes to say they were fine." He said to himself as he texted the red-headed guy.
He doubt that something happened to them but still, he wasn't sure, so just in case, he texted him for reassurance. When he put his phone back in his pocket, he made his way back home. But before he could get back, someone came to him across the entrance of the building.
He halted Izuku back.
An unfamiliar person approached Izuku. He has never seen him before. But the uniform of the person made Izuku keep his guard up and at the same time, he was startled.
It was a policeman. "You're Midoriya Izuku, right? I'm Monoma from the police department, and I have a few questions for you, Midoriya Izuku."
When he said his name, he had this malicious tone in there as if he knew that Izuku had something to hide. He emphasized it so creepily.
Izuku smiled. "Of course."
But in the inside, Izuku was actually afraid and worried but he had to act normal and try not to make it so obvious. This was his first encounter with a police so he wasn't sure what to do. But all he can do is just relax and keep up a poker face. He mustn't be exposed.
"Please come with me." He told the guy.
Izuku nodded with a sweet smile to avoid any suspicions. He quietly followed Monoma as they made their way to the police department.
Izuku entered the police car, with Monoma driving. The green-haired glanced at Monoma and smiled. "So what's the reason why I was called?"
The other guy answered, still fixing his eyes on the road. "It seemed that you were one of the victims of the case recently, with murder and the kidnapping of Bakugou Katsuki. I believe that you were the one that escaped in the hospital along with the current missing person we've been looking for, Uraraka Ochako."
Izuku's hands flinched, nervous that he knew too much information. He gulped silently with sweat forming on his forehead. But his expression didn't change.
He spoke after that. "But how are you sure I am the guy?"
"It was discovered by Ochako's manager, Iida Tenya, from the store she was working in that he knew who you were." Monoma answered him back.
Izuku cursed in the inside. This is too much for him to handle. He's not sure if he can cope up with this any further. Just a little more and they will discover who Izuku is.
Monoma noticed Izuku being quiet. "You nervous, huh?"
He immediately answered back with a nervous smile. "No. In fact, I am okay with you questioning me." He said. "Yes, I am one of the victims."
The guy hummed. "Then can you tell me why is Uraraka Ochako staying with you?"
The question got Izuku off-guard. But he kept his face. "She approached me and we got to know each other better. So after a while, we both started dating and she decided to stay with me from now on at my place."
"Is that so?" Monoma responded. "You two are a thing?"
He nodded back.
"I see, but we need you to still come with us as we investigate you. After that, we will need you to take us to where Ochako is, we need to ask her some questions too." He said to Izuku.
He gulped, nervously, scared that he might go to Ochako and discover Izuku's house. And if they investigate the place, Izuku would doomed.
The other guys asked again. "What's the reason why you both escaped from the hospital without any of the doctor's consent?"
Izuku answered back, feeling his heart about to burst from this heavy atmosphere he's handling. "Oh, after the incident, Ochako woke up and immediately was traumatized with what happened and begged me to bring her back home."
Monoma kept quiet.
"So I decided to rush back to our house as soon as possible for her to stay calm, and it did. Sorry for what happened suddenly but I didn't have time and I couldn't rely with the doctor's help that time."
Izuku knew he wasn't making sense but he was so nervous, he was blabbering nonsense. He was so scared that the police will dig in deeper with any information.
"I see, we will talk more about it with your girlfriend, shall we?" He said to him, with Izuku hesitatingly giving him a nod back.
Monoma added all of a sudden. "There are a lot of cases here, huh? So many missing people, but founded only a few but dead."
Izuku nodded casually. "I know, crazy place in here."
The blonde guy hummed back. "Midoriya Izuku." He called, with Izuku looking at him. "Have you ever killed anyone before?"
He then sighed and looked away. "Y-Yes, I have. But it was only Bakugou Katsuki and his two men, in order for us to escape and survive."
"How did you manage to kill them? Are you experienced too?"
He answered back. "My girlfriend was kidnapped. I tracked the kidnappers so I was able to get a weapon and kill them off-guard."
"Your girlfriend was the only one taken away? How were you able to track them?"
"I saw their plate number, so I asked a friend to track the car."
Monoma questioned. "And why didn't you call the cops?"
"I didn't bring a cell phone with me." Izuku lied. "I panicked, sir."
This guy just keeps his questions coming.
The other guy kept quiet after that and started thinking. "We'll ask you more question at the place later."
He then added. "And let's see if you can still keep up with that cheap act of yours, Midoriya Izuku."
Izuku nodded back with a smile. "Of course."
Honestly, he was terrified.
-
Kirishima took out his phone and began typing something. Meanwhile, the brunette was quietly sitting down on the bed, thinking hard about what he said.
Midoriya Izuku wasn't his name? It wasn't a big deal but she was just stunned with the sudden fact of his name being fake. She just needs some answers and who Izuku really is.
Curiosity was killing her too much.
"Here." The red-headed handed her his cellphone, showing an article in it. "Do you know the massacre of the Marunouchi building?"
When he said that, talking about the article he showed her, the beating of Ochako's heart stopped for a second. She gulped with her eyes horrified, staring at the article.
"Ochako?" He called her, noticing her expression.
She faced him with a dejected look. "I-I know this."
The guy then asked. "You know? It's pretty famous."
"W-What do you mean by this?"
Kirishima answered her. "Deku is the one behind all of this!" He said it with a proud tone.
Ochako's eyes were shaking with her body trembling, unable to process anything after that. Kirishima talking about it was just echoing through her head without her understanding. She didn't have the right mind to listen to anything.
The place where her parents died.
"Ochako?" Kirishima called her, noticing her completely shocked expression. "You okay?"
"Deku was the one behind all this?" She mumbled under there breath, with her face still looking pale. "He was the one who killed all those people in that building?"
"Yeah! And he was only 18 that time! He's amazing!" But Kirishima felt this uneasy feeling that was coming from her. He thought he might ask. "Is there something wrong?"
Her eyes stared at the floor, her brain couldn't process properly. She was confused, scared and hurt. She never thought that she was living with her parent's killer.
"N-Nothing." She responded. She didn't want to answer him. She already has so many doubts when it comes to talking to people. She doesn't who to trust.
"You want to know more about him?" He asked her.
Ochako continued to look at who knows where, she was just thinking deeply, remembering the pain from the past when she knew her parents were murdered. She never knew it would be this painful to know who killed them.
She gulped and nodded her head, slowly. "Y-Yes."
Kirishima stared at her for a few good seconds. He knew there was something wrong when he told her about the incident. Maybe something did happen. He didn't want to ask any further more questions. And he was thinking, whether he should tell her about his past. He couldn't just tell someone about him, since he was so close to Izuku, but judging from what he had seen between the two, he might think it's best for her to know.
"Alright." He hesitated before speaking. But before he could, he realized something. "Wait a minute!"
He then checked on his phone. "Oh no, I'm such a dumbshit!"
Ochako showed a dumb-founded expression, unable to know what was going on."W-What's wrong?"
"Deku's gonna kill me!" He said. "I forgot to text him that you're okay once in a while! Now he's texting like crazy!"
"T-Text you that I'm okay?" She asked.
His eyes widened when he saw his texts. "Wait, O-Ochako, we need to leave now." Kirishima stood up in an instant.
She looked at him, confused. "W-Why?"
He showed her Izuku's text.
"FOR FUCK'S SAKES YOU CUNT CHECK YOUR PHONE THE POLICE ARE ON THE WAY TO YOU. GET THE FUCK OUT OR I'LL KILL YOU."
"O-Oh..."
What a pleasant way to say it.
Kirishima grabbed her by the hand. "Quick! Or we're in big trouble."
Ochako stood up but squeaked in pain from her back.
"S-Sorry! Come on!" He said.
The both of them ran downstairs while Kirishima texted Izuku back.
"Where should we go?"
Kirishima and Ochako stood outside of the house. Ochako was panting after the running, and her stamina was weak so she was catching her breath. She couldn't breathe properly.
The red-headed guy kept an eye on the area to ensure the police were coming. He sweated, worried they'll get caught. After that, Izuku texted him back.
"Don't go to your apartment, they asked me to bring them to you, too. Just go to my old place, hurry!"
"There?" Kirishima mumbled under his breath.
Ochako gripped on his sleeves. "W-Where are we supposed to go?" She had a worried look on her pale face.
Kirishima stared at her, clenching his teeth, thinking whether it's a good idea to go to the place Izuku told them to go to.
"Follow me." The guy told.
The two then quickly ran away from the house to go to their destination.
Izuku's old house.
